L'invention se rapporte à un défroisseur vapeur comprenant : un générateur de vapeur ; une tête (50) pour l'application de la vapeur générée à un article à défroisser ; un support (30) de tête pour le positionnement de la tête (50) d'application entre deux manipulations ; un détecteur (40) de la présence de la tête (50) d'application positionnée sur le support (30) ; un contrôleur de gestion du générateur de vapeur pour arrêter ou moduler la génération de vapeur en fonction de la présence de la tête (50) d'application sur le support (30). L'invention se rapport encore à un support adapté pour un tel défroisseur ayant un capteur de proximité en tant que détecteur de présence de la tête.
