The present invention relates to cosmetic agents that contain at least one menthol ester, at least one glycerol ether, and at least one other component c) and have a high and durable deodorant effect. In addition, the present invention relates to the use of these agents for the treatment of body odor.
Description

Eccrine and apocrine sweat glands are present in the armpit hollow in man. While the eccrine glands produce an aqueous secretion in response to heat, the apocrine glands produce viscous secretion in response to stress. This apocrine sweat is a complex mixture that contains, among other things, steroids, cholesterol and other fats as well as about 10% protein. The bacterial decomposition of the constituents of apocrine sweat is at the origin of the first odorless secretion of the unpleasant body odor in the armpits.
The decomposition products of apocrine sweat, which contribute significantly to body odor, in particular to axillary body odor, can be divided into two categories: firstly short chain C4 to C10 fatty acids which can be linear, branched, saturated or unsaturated (eg, isovaleric acid), on the other hand into various steroid hormones and their metabolites (eg, 5-a-androstenol and 5-a-androstenone).
It can fight body odor by avoiding the bacterial degradation of perspiration or by using a perfume to mask the body odor. To prevent the bacterial degradation of sweat, antimicrobial substances are used in the state of the art which reduce the number of bacteria degrading sweat on the skin by killing them. The effect of such antibacterial substances on the prevention of body odor and the use of perfume to mask body odor does not, however, always give satisfactory deodorant power. There is therefore a need for cosmetic agents which have a high and lasting deodorant effect against body odor.
The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a cosmetic agent intended to reduce and / or prevent body odor, which has a good lasting effect against body odor. In addition, these cosmetic agents must be able to be manufactured economically and have a high storage stability.
