Abstract

Description

MOTOR VEHICLE COMPRISING AN TENT

The invention relates to the field of motor vehicles equipped with retractable living spaces.

[0002] Motorhomes are generally bulky, making their journeys difficult, especially on rough terrain or in narrow streets. The purchase price of a motorhome is, moreover, generally high, which reduces the potential customer base for this type of vehicle.

To appeal to a wider customer base, car manufacturers offer substantially conventional vehicles, that is to say intended for the transport of passengers and possibly equipment, and further comprising equipment to create a protected living space.

Document CA 2276831 thus discloses a vehicle comprising a tent coming up at the rear of the vehicle, the tent comprising an inflatable frame and a fabric coming to cover the inflatable frame. This vehicle remains binding, especially during its installation. In fact, the occupants of the vehicle must initially inflate the frame, then install the canvas, before anchoring the tent, from the outside, on the ground. Even if these operations are classic for a camper, they are unpleasant when the weather conditions are unfavorable, for example in a strong wind or rain. In addition, when the ground is wet and / or muddy, the inside of the tent remains muddy, which increases the risk of fouling of the interior of the vehicle, when the occupants pass from the tent to the vehicle. In order to counter this problem, it is conceivable to place a tarpaulin or carpet on the ground, but this increases the assembly time.

The present invention has the main purpose of addressing the disadvantages of the prior art.

A first objective is to propose a motor vehicle comprising a tent, simple installation.

A second objective is to provide such a motor vehicle, which can adopt several different configurations.

A third objective is to offer such a motor vehicle, with good habitability, when the tent is disassembled.

For this purpose, it is proposed, in the first place, a motor vehicle comprising: a body; - a roof ; - A tailgate movable relative to the roof, between a closed position in which it substantially extends the roof to separate the inside of the outside of the vehicle, and an open position in which it forms an angle with the roof , to allow communication between the inside and the outside of the vehicle, the tailgate having a peripheral edge, and - a tent having a fabric and an inflatable structure, the tent, when mounted, bearing on the body and the roof of the vehicle, the fabric being composed of several panels permanently fixed on the inflatable structure, the tailgate comprising, along its peripheral edge, a fastening means to allow, in its open position, the attachment of the tent.

The permanent attachment of canvas panels on the inflatable structure facilitates the mounting of the tent, since the user does not have to add a canvas on the inflatable structure when the latter is inflated. Thus, in rainy weather, the user is not wet to mount the tent.

In addition, the presence of the fastening means, along the peripheral edge of the tailgate, ensures good support and a good seal between the tent and the vehicle. In addition, when the tailgate is provided with a transparent area (rigid or flexible window), the outside light can enter the tent, and thus provide natural lighting to the occupants of the tent.

Various additional features may be provided, alone or in combination: - the fastening means of the tent on the tailgate is a zipper; the permanent fixation of the panels on the inflatable structure is carried out by welds; - the tent includes cheeks to allow the connection of the tent to the vehicle; - Fixing the tent on the vehicle is made by mechanical adhesives; - Fixing the tent on the vehicle is done by suction cups; - The roof is convertible and is fixed on the body, for example by means of quarter-turn systems; - The body comprises, to the right of the tailgate, a foldable flap unlike the tailgate, allowing the increase of the floor area of the vehicle; - The tent includes a floor tank, to allow insulation between a floor on which the vehicle is based and the interior of the tent; - The box includes a compartment in which the tent is stored, when disassembled.

Figure 1 shows a vehicle 1 automobile equipped with a tent 2 structure 3 inflatable, reported. The vehicle 1 comprises a body 4, a roof 5, and a tailgate 6 movable box with respect to the roof 5, between a closed position, in which it substantially extends the roof 5 to separate the inside of the outside of the vehicle 1, and an open position, in which it forms an angle with the roof 5, to allow the communication of the interior with the outside of the vehicle 1, the tailgate 6 having a peripheral edge 7, allowing mounting tent 2, as we will see below.

Advantageously, the vehicle 1 is of the cabriolet type, that is to say that the roof 5 can be removed from the body 4 integrally or partially. For this, the roof 5 is made of a flexible material, for example technical fabric, and may optionally be reinforced by means of whales, or come to cover a frame mounted on the body 4. To ensure a good hold of the roof 5 on the body 4, and thus achieve a good seal, the roof 5 is maintained on the body 4 by means for example of 8 quarter turn systems, shown schematically by circles in Figure 3, and in more detail in Figure 6 The 8-turn systems comprise a finger 9 provided with a handling blade 10 and pass through the eyelets 11 piercing the roof 5 before being pivoted, so that the blade 10 of the systems 8 protrudes from both sides eyelet 11, to maintain the roof 5 in its position.

The tailgate 6, visible in its open position in Figures 1 and 3, is more rigid than the roof 5 and comprises a peripheral edge 7 and a transparent portion 12 which allows: - when the tailgate 6 is in position closing, improve the visibility to maneuver the vehicle 1, and - when the tailgate 6 is in the open position, to maintain the tent 2 on the one hand, and let the outside light to illuminate inside the tent 2, on the other hand.

As will be explained below, the peripheral edge 7 comprises a means 13 for fixing, allowing the attachment of the tent 2 when the tailgate 6 is in its open position. Advantageously, the fastening means 13 is a zipper.

In addition, the body 4 of the vehicle 1 includes, to the right of the tailgate 6, a flap 14 foldable to the reverse of the tailgate 6, to increase the floor area of the vehicle 1. More specifically, the flap 14 is movable between an open position, wherein the flap 14 extends the floor of the vehicle 1 and creates a gap in the body 4 facilitating the passage of the vehicle interior 1 outside or tent 2 when it is mounted, and a closed position, wherein the flap 14 is substantially perpendicular to the floor of the vehicle 1 and closes the body 4, to barrier between the interior of the vehicle 1 and the outside or tent 2, when it is mounted.

Advantageously, the flap 14 and the tailgate 6 can be handled independently of one another.

Finally, the body 4 comprises, in a rear portion of the vehicle 1, a compartment 15 in which the tent 2 is stored, once folded. This compartment 15 also makes it possible to store inflation means of the inflatable structure 3 of the tent 2, these inflation means being able to be in the form of an electric compressor connected to an electric source of the vehicle 1, or bottles of compressed air easily accessible to be changed if necessary, and a pipe for the connection between the compressor or the bottles and a check valve of the inflatable structure 3.

The tent 2, visible in Figures 1 and 3 according to a first embodiment, and in Figure 5 according to a second embodiment, comprises, in addition to the inflatable structure 3, a fabric 16.

As can be seen in the figures, the fabric 16 is composed of panels 17 fixed permanently on the inflatable structure 3. According to an advantageous embodiment, the permanent fixing of the panels 17 on the inflatable structure 3 is performed by textile welding, for example by ultrasound.

The fabric 16 also includes side cheeks 18, which are connected to the inflatable structure 3 by one of their edges, these cheeks 18 being provided with fastening elements, adapted to engage the body 4 or the roof 5 of the vehicle 1.

According to a first embodiment shown in FIG. 7, the fastening elements are mechanical adhesives, of which a first part 20 is integral with the flange 18 and a second part 21 is integral with the roof 5.

According to a second embodiment shown in Figure 8, the fasteners are suction cups 22, adapted to engage the body 4 of the vehicle 1.

When attached to the body 4 and the roof 5 of the vehicle 1, the cheeks 18 provide insulation between the inside and the outside of the tent 2.

Finally, the tent 2 comprises, in a lower part, a tray 23 of soil, made of a flexible material but more rigid than the material used for the fabric 16, this tray 23 of soil to achieve insulation between the tent 2 and the ground on which the vehicle 1 rests. Preferably, the floor tank 23 comprises suction cups 22 to allow its attachment to the body 4 of the vehicle 1.

Advantageously, the tray 23 of soil can also serve as a container, wherein the inflatable structure 3 and the fabric 16 of the tent 2 are stored, before the tray 23 of soil is itself disposed in the compartment 15 of the vehicle 1.

According to the embodiment shown in Figure 5, the tent 2 is provided in a portion opposite the vehicle 1, a panel 17 comprising two parts 24 which can be secured to one another, for example by a zipper. This panel 17 in two parts 24 then makes it possible to make a door, to enter or leave the tent 2.

According to a variant not shown, the panels 17 may be made of porous textiles, to act as a mosquito net, or include transparent parts, to provide natural lighting.

To mount the tent 2, a user positions the flap 14 in its open position, then the tailgate 6 in its open position, leaves the tent 2 of the compartment 15 and associates the canvas 16 to the tailgate 6, via the closure 7. When the fabric 16 is mounted on the tailgate 6, the user connects the inflatable structure 3 by inflating, then inflates the structure 3 of the tent 2. Once the inflated structure 3, the user secures the cheeks 18 and the floor tray 23 on the body 4 and the roof 5 of the vehicle 1, so as to achieve the insulation of the tent 2 with the outside of the vehicle 1. The junction between the tent 2 (except the floor tray 23) and the vehicle 1 is represented by the bold dashed line in FIG. 4.

To dismantle the tent 2, the user disconnects the cheeks 18 of the roof 5 and the body 4, and the tray 23 of the floor of the body 4, then, via a plug not shown, empty the air of the inflatable structure 3, to deflate. Once the structure 3 deflated, the user removes the canvas 16 of the tailgate 6, then stores the tent 2 in the compartment 15 of the vehicle 1, finally, the user closes the flap 14 and the hatch 6.

The vehicle 1 which has just been described allows its occupants to move easily, while ensuring an increase in a covered living space when the tent 2 is mounted.

In addition, the fastening of the tent 2 on the hatch 6 can bring natural lighting in the tent 2, but also to achieve good insulation between the inside and outside of the tent 2.

The assembly and disassembly of the tent 2 is fast, since the user has only to connect the tent 2 to the tailgate 6 and secure the cheeks 18 on the vehicle 1 through simple means such as suction cups 22 or the mechanical adhesive 19.

Finally, the vehicle 1 can adopt different configurations such as cabriolet, semi-decapoté or completely closed.

Claims (10)

A vehicle (1) comprising: a body (4); a roof (5); a tailgate (6), movable relative to the roof (5), between a closed position in which it substantially extends the roof (5) to separate the interior from the outside of the vehicle (1), and a position opening in which it forms an angle with the roof (5), to allow the communication of the interior with the outside of the vehicle (1), the tailgate (6) having a peripheral border (7), and a tent (2) having a fabric (16) and an inflatable structure (3), the tent (2), when mounted, resting on the body (4) and the roof (5) of the vehicle (1), characterized in that the fabric (16) is composed of a plurality of panels (17) permanently fixed to the inflatable structure (3), the tailgate (6) comprising, along its peripheral edge (7), means (13) fixing, to allow, in its open position, the attachment of the tent (2). 2. Vehicle (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that the means (13) for fixing the tent on the tailgate (6) is a zipper. 3. Vehicle (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the permanent attachment of the panels (17) on the structure (3) inflatable is performed by welds. 4. Vehicle (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the tent (2) comprises cheeks (18) to allow the connection of the tent (2) to the vehicle (1). 5. Vehicle (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the attachment of the tent (2) on the vehicle (1) is made by adhesives (19) mechanical. 6. Vehicle (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the body (4) comprises, to the right of the tailgate (6), a flap (14) folding unlike the tailgate (6), allowing the increase of the floor area of the vehicle (1). 9.
