Abstract

L'objet de l'invention est un procédé de fabrication de céramiques de YAG polycristallin (Y3Al5O12) transparentes comprenant la mise en œuvre des étapes suivantes : - a) mélange de poudres d'oxydes primaires d'alumine (Al2O3) et d'yttrine (Y2O3) et d'au moins un agent de frittage en milieu aqueux basique, - b) mise en forme dans un moule de la suspension obtenue à l'étape a pour obtenir au moins une pièce solide, par coulage-gélification en présence d'au moins un agent gélifiant, - c) déliantage sous atmosphère oxydante à pression atmosphérique à une température inférieure à 1200°C, - d) frittage réactif sous vide de la pièce obtenue à l'étape c) à une température supérieure à 1550°C. L'invention vise également l'utilisation des pièces céramiques de YAG polycristallin obtenues en particulier pour des applications décoratives.
