Abstract
The invention relates to a device for deeply decompressing forest soils through the action of two vertical bodies attached in parallel on a support and spaced a meter, provided with three pairs of fins and a shell at their end. . Attached to the balance of a shovel, the progress of the tool in the ground can fracture and loosen the compacted horizons. The presented tool makes it possible to reduce the inconveniences inherent to the phenomenon of compaction of the soil like the bad circulation of the water and the gases, the decrease of the biological activity, the difficult prospection of the roots causing a restricted or abnormal development of the root systems , which induces problems of growth and stability of the trees. This tool is therefore particularly intended for deep subsoiling of compacted forest soils.
Description
The present invention relates to a mechanical soil decomposition tool that can be used in the context of preparatory work for natural or artificial regenerations (plantations) in the forest environment. It aims to loosen and aerate the soil, which facilitates the development of root systems of young trees or seeds and therefore their growth.
When creating or renewing a forest stand, preparatory work is a crucial step in the success of regeneration. They consist, before the establishment of the seedlings or the arrival of the seedlings, to prepare the ground to optimize the root development of the trees and to manage the vegetation in place, which exerts a competition for the water or the nutritive elements. There are many operational issues related to this work. If they are neglected, unsuitable or poorly realized, this can lead to failures, synonymous with costs or damage to the environment. Soil compaction is one of the difficulties encountered during the preparatory work. This phenomenon, either natural by excess water on fine textured soils, or induced by the circulation of machines exerting too much stress, results in a reduction of the porosity of the soil. This has important consequences for the environment: - poor circulation of water leading to problems with waterlogging and stagnation. poor circulation of gases. Much of the gaseous exchange between trees and the environment is through the roots. Compacted soil can lead to asphyxiation and health problems (dieback, pathogens). - decrease in biological activity: the lack of oxygen is detrimental to the activity of micro and macro invertebrates present in the soil. - increase in the apparent density of the soil: a compacted soil opposes a stronger resistance to the penetration of the roots. This causes restricted or abnormal development of root systems, which leads to tree growth and stability problems. We distinguish between surface compaction (up to 20 cm deep) and depth compaction (up to 60 cm deep). The presented tool makes it possible to reduce the disadvantages inherent to the soil compaction phenomenon presented above. Fixed on the balance of a shovel, the tool consists of two one-meter vertical bodies, bevelled at the front, with three pairs of fins and a pointed-pointed shell at their end. These two vertical bodies are set in parallel on a main support and are spaced one meter apart. The operator of the excavator plunges these two vertical bodies into the ground and advances them from the back to the front. While advancing in the ground, the tool, thanks to the slightly edged beveled front of the vertical bodies and their pointed shell, makes it possible to split and fracture the ground, making it more loose, without returning the pedological horizons (damaging action). The fins allow to increase the fracturing of the soil. This work is similar to a "double" subsoil thanks to the two vertical bodies, increasing the width of the worked area (minimum width of 1.50 m) and thus the prospection area of the tree roots.
The tool, fixed on a mechanical shovel (-160 hp, 22 t), decompacts the soil deeply, over 0.80 m, up to 1.00 m deep. It has a beneficial action on the two types of compaction encountered (surface, depth). The power of the tool holder makes it possible not to block on the stumps, the big roots or the pebbles, to work in linear (line of plantation) or in work 5 located by plots. The quality of the plantation will be improved. In the longer term, root prospecting being facilitated will allow more growth of young trees. The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention: FIG. 1 represents a front view of the tool; FIG. 2 represents a left view of the tool; FIG. 3 represents a rear view of the tool. to these drawings, the tool consists of two vertical bodies, 100 cm high, attached in parallel on a support 135 cm wide, bevelled at the front and spaced a meter (a). They are each equipped with three pairs of triangular shaped fins (18cm by 18 cm) (b), the first pair located at 15 cm from the base, the second at 42 cm from the base, the third pair at 76 cm. the base and a subsoiler shell diameter 6 cm pointed profile at their end (c).
30A rake (d) (182 cm by 62 cm) with 12 teeth (15 cm by 10 cm) is disposed at the back of the tool and at 90 ° to the vertical bodies. When the soil to be worked is covered with dense vegetation (grasses, semi-woody), the rake allows to previously strip the vegetation in place before the work of decompaction of the ground, to push back any obstacles (pieces of wood, rocks ). To do this, the tool is bent at 90 ° so that the rake is in contact with the vegetation. Front and side movement of the shovel rocker helps to repel vegetation outside the work area. This also makes it possible not to incorporate the biomass present in the soil. This tool, whose development to begin in 1995 is therefore particularly intended for deep subsoiling of highly compacted forest soils. 30
