Description
The present invention relates to a woodland fire protection system comprising a retarding product, said system being intended to protect sites presenting significant fire risks. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION . It also relates to a retarding product and its preparation process. The protection system according to the invention can circumscribe, limit or slow the progression of a fire, to ensure the evacuation of people and property if necessary. The system makes it possible to preserve the fauna, the flora and the structures implanted on the zones concerned. More particularly, the system according to the invention is suitable for spaces located in or near wooded areas, especially houses and motorway areas located in or near areas with a high fuel potential such as tree forests or bushes. In metropolitan France, there are an average of 6,000 fire departures each year causing the destruction of about twenty-five thousand hectares of forest. Areas with high fuel potential are wooded areas. This is mainly due to tree species present and dry soils. Also, the increasing presence of goods and people nearby and in the forests increases the areas of vulnerability to fire. This diffuse presence of habitat, coupled with terrain, makes fighting and fire prevention more difficult for relief services. In such so-called risk zones, it is therefore necessary to set up systems making it possible to anticipate any fire departure and thus stop or slow down the progression of a fire before the arrival of the rescue services. Document FR2685212 describes a system for protecting wooded areas against fire. The system described in this document comprises the combination of: - a row of fixed columns each surmounted by a water diffusion head and arranged so as to create a screen of water, and - a station of pumping comprising several autonomous pump units and a water reserve; the assembly being controlled by a controller that can be remotely controlled. However, the system described above is not entirely satisfactory particularly in times of high heat, where a simple sprinkling of water is sometimes not sufficient to delay or stop the chemical combustion reaction. There is therefore a need to develop combustion extinguishing systems to improve fire fighting, especially in spaces located in or near wooded areas, prior to the arrival of rescue services. The solution to the problem posed firstly relates to a system for protecting wooded areas against fire, characterized in that it comprises: at least one column line 1 comprising sprinklers 2 each surmounted by a diffusion head 3 a liquid, to create a screen of said liquid; a water tank 4; a vessel comprising an inhibited corrosion-inhibiting flame retardant composition comprising at least one flame retardant and one corrosion inhibitor; and 3029795 3 - a pumping station 6 comprising at least one water pump 7 and a metering pump 8 for the preparation of a retardant product. Surprisingly, the Applicant has demonstrated that the use of a retardant product as described above in a woodland fire protection system was very effective and allowed to halt or further slow down the progression. of a fire, compared to existing systems. The subject of the invention is a retardant product for aerial or terrestrial application intended for the protection of wooded areas against fire, characterized in that it comprises, in combination: on the one hand, between 21% and 40%; %, by volume of the total volume of the product, of an inhibited corrosive power inhibiting composition comprising at least: - an ignition retardant, and - a corrosion inhibitor; and 20 - on the other hand between 60% and 85% water, by volume of the total volume of the product. The third subject of the invention is a process for the preparation of a product according to the invention, characterized in that it comprises the following stages of: - formation of a flame retardant composition with inhibited corrosive power comprising at least one retarding agent; inflammation and a corrosion inhibitor; and - diluting said flame retardant composition with water to form said product according to the invention. Finally, the invention has the final object the use of a system or a product according to the invention, to circumscribe or limit the progression of a fire.
The invention will be better understood on reading the nonlimiting description which follows, written with reference to the appended drawings, in which FIGS. 1 and 2 show schematic diagrams of woodland protection systems against fire. according to the invention. The Applicant has developed a system for protecting wooded areas against fire. The system is particularly intended to protect high-risk areas by stopping or slowing down the progression of a fire, to ensure the evacuation of people, if any, and to preserve wildlife. , the flora and the goods implanted on the concerned site. According to a first embodiment of the invention illustrated in FIG. 1, the system according to the invention comprises at least one column line 1 comprising sprinklers 2 each surmounted by a diffusion head 3 of a liquid. This column line creates a liquid screen that can be water (in exercise mode 20 or test mode) or retardant product (in normal mode). The system according to the invention comprises a water tank 4 with a capacity of between about 10 and 1000 cubic meters, preferably about 60 cubic meters; and a tank 5 comprising an inhibited corrosive potency inhibiting composition comprising at least one flame retardant and one corrosion inhibitor. This tank 5 of flame retardant composition has a capacity of between 1 cubic meter and 10 cubic meters, preferably 3 cubic meters. The system further comprises a pumping station 6 normally powered by the mains 16 comprising at least one water pump 7 and a metering pump 8 for the preparation of a retardant product. As illustrated in FIG. 2, according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the system according to the invention is advantageously constituted by the combination of: - a row of columns 1, consisting of sprinklers 2 preferably fixed but removable, each surmounted by a diffusion head 3 of a liquid, and arranged so as to create a screen; - A pumping station 6 normally supplied by the mains 16. The assembly is advantageously controlled by a programmable controller 12, 10 for example brand ELSATM, type 5200, depending on the various operating parameters of the pumping station 6, measured by an array of sensors 9 such as for example pressure sensor, flow meter, anemometer, water height, etc. The parameters are then compared to set values. The programmable controller 12 can advantageously communicate with the outside of the system, both in transmission and in reception, by an optical fiber system. The system implemented on the site, illustrated in Figure 2, more preferably comprises: - a water tank 4 preferably buried with a capacity of about 60 cubic meters supplied with water by a network or by drilling; a tank of inhibited corrosive composition with a capacity of about 3 cubic meters; - A pumping station 6 comprising: - two heat pumps 7 for pumping the water contained in the tank 4; A pressure-maintaining pump 10 able to maintain the hydraulic network under pressure; and - a metering pump for the preparation of the retardant product; - A programmable controller 12 for controlling, via a connection cable 13 and a preferentially coded addressing system, the columns, sequentially or individually.
An additional technical problem related to the use of a retardant or flame retardant composition is that the stability over time of the various constituents of such products is not optimal. Indeed, with time, a separation of 10 phases is observed. Also, in order to solve this additional problem, the Applicant has advantageously integrated a recirculation circuit to the tank of flame retardant composition. Preferably, the pumping station 6 further comprises a circulation pump 11 which makes it possible to maintain the homogeneity of the various constituents of the retardant product or of the flame retardant composition. Preferably, the start-up device is triggered in test mode according to the preset schedule, generally once a week. This test mode allows an analysis of all the functionalities of the installation, in order to ensure the maintenance of the installation and to check that there is no malfunction of the system. In the exercise mode or test mode, the circuit from the flame retardant tank is turned off, so that in the watering heads only a water screen is diffused. In normal mode, the starting device can be triggered when the values (wind analysis, pressure sensor, flow meter, compared to set values are reached or even in case of emergency, by a so-called system). "Punch" 14 located in the technical room of the pumping station or remotely, from the supervisor located at the central station of the sector In normal mode, the circuit from the composition tank 3029795 7 joins the water circuit The metering pump 8 allows the production of a retarding product at a given concentration of flame retardant composition Thus, in normal mode, in the watering heads, a screen of retardant product is diffused. The Applicant has also developed a particular retarding product comprising in combination: on the one hand between 21% and 40%, by volume of the total volume of the product, of an inhibited corrosive power-inhibiting composition comprising at least: an ignition retardant, and - a corrosion inhibitor; and - on the other hand between 60% and 85% of water, in volume of the total volume of the product.
Some chemical compositions are well known for their effectiveness in fighting fire. Such compositions, also known as retarding products, include, for example, flame retardant compositions FIRETROL® 934 (colorless) and / or FIRE-TROL® 936 (colored) manufactured by ICL Biogema, mixed with water. Delayed products have the advantage of considerably increasing the effectiveness of the action compared to normal or improved water. In direct attack, that is to say when the liquid is sprayed in jet attack or in a straight jet directly on a localized and visible focus, the absence of release of water vapor of these products improves the comfort of the door launches. The flexibility of the setting of the coverage rate 30 also allows a more suitable action. Delayed products also allow night work. Delayed products provide excellent protection results especially for homes and motorway areas in or near tree or bush forests. Finally, the installation of chemical barriers can contribute decisively to the control of the fire. However, the use of such products entails certain constraints, including logistics.
Delaying products are generally leached by rain. Thus, any protective barrier of retardant product must be posed when the risk of fire is real. Furthermore, current retardants can not be integrated as such into existing woodland fire protection systems. Indeed, because of their composition, the retardants can be dispersed over the areas they protect only when a fire is actually declared. Because of their composition, it is not possible to perform full-scale fire drills to test the protection system. This especially for reasons of nuisance, toxicology, ecotoxicology, and costs.
Existing retardants generally comprise, in combination: - on the one hand an inhibited corrosion-inhibiting composition comprising at least: - an ignition retardant, and - a corrosion inhibitor; and - on the other hand, water. Such retardants include, for example, FIRE-TROL® 934 (colorless) and / or FIRE-TROL® 936 (colored) which are flame retardant inhibited compositions consisting in particular of ammonium polyphosphate (flame retardant). , a corrosion inhibitor and a wetting agent. By the product FIRE-TROL® 936 (colored) further comprises a photofugitive dye.
For direct attack use, the flame retardant composition concentration of the retarding products should be between 12% and 14% by volume of the total volume of the product. For indirect etching use, the flame retardant composition concentration of the retardants is from 18% to 20% by volume of the total volume of the product. The coverage rate should preferably be adapted to the type of vegetation. Thus, only about two liters per square meter of retarding product for the treatment of low vegetation such as bushes or grasses, while it takes about eight liters per square meter for forests. Surprisingly, the Applicant has been able to establish that the retardant object of the invention could comprise a concentration of flame retardant composition greater than the above concentrations, especially when used in a system of protection of woodland against the fire. Thus, the retardant object of the invention comprises, in combination: on the one hand between 21% and 40%, by volume of the total volume of the product, of a flame retardant composition with inhibited corrosive power comprising at least: a flame retardant, and a corrosion inhibitor; and - on the other hand between 60% and 85% of water, in volume of the total volume of the product. Advantageously, the concentration of the inhibited corrosive flame retardant composition is between 25% and 35% by volume of the total volume of the product. Preferably, the inhibited corrosive flame retardant composition of the product according to the invention further comprises at least one additive selected from the group of additives consisting of suspending agents, coloring agents, surfactants, and the like. stabilizers, wetting agents, opacifying pigments, alone or as a mixture. More preferably, the inhibited corrosive flame retardant composition comprises a coloring agent selected from the group consisting of fugitive coloring agents, photo-fugitive dyes, opacifying pigments, and highly colored pigments. Preferably, the flame retardant of the product according to the invention is ammonium polyphosphate. Preferably, the corrosion inhibitor of the product according to the invention is chosen from azoles, insoluble ferric pyrophosphate, soluble ferric pyrophosphate, ferrous oxalate, ferric citrate, ferrous sulphate and ferric ammonium citrate. soluble ferric orthophosphate, insoluble ferric orthophosphate, ferric ammonium oxalate, ferric ammonium sulfate, ferric bromide, ferric sodium oxalate, ferric stearate, ferric sulfate, ferrous acetate, ferrous ammonium sulphate, ferric bromide, ferrous gluconate, ferric iodide, ferric acetate, ferric fluoroborate, ferric oleate, ferrous fumarate, ferrous oxide, ferric lactate, ferric resinate, alone or as a mixture. More preferably, the retarding product which is the subject of the invention comprises, in combination: on the one hand between 25% and 35%, by volume of the total volume of the product, of an inhibited corrosive power-inhibiting composition which is the Fire-Trole 934 or FireTrol® 936 marketed by the company ICL Biogema and - on the other hand between 60% and 85% water, by volume of the total volume of the product. The invention further relates to a process for preparing a retardant according to the invention, characterized in that it comprises the following steps of: - forming a flame retardant composition with inhibited corrosive power comprising at least one 5 flame retardant and a corrosion inhibitor; and - diluting said flame retardant composition with water to form said product according to the invention.
Preferably, the step of diluting the flame retardant composition with water to form the product according to the invention is carried out by means of the dosing pump 8 of the system according to the invention. Finally, the invention relates to the use of a system according to the invention or a retardant according to the invention, to circumscribe or limit the progression of a fire.
