Abstract

The invention relates to a headrest (1) for a motor vehicle seat, said headrest comprising: a cushion (2) comprising a lateral face (3); at least one speaker (4) mounted within said cushion, said speaker facing said face; at least one acoustic duct (5) extending from said loudspeaker to said face, said duct comprising a curved portion (6), said portion forming all or part of said duct, so as to open said duct substantially towards the front of the vehicle and reorient the sound emitted by said loudspeaker, said curved portion being rotatably mounted along a transverse axis (7) so as to make it possible to open said duct in a plurality of other directions substantially perpendicular to said axis, in order to allow sound propagation according to one of said directions chosen by a user.

Description

The invention relates to a headrest for a motor vehicle seat. It is known to make a headrest for a motor vehicle seat, said headrest comprising: a cushion comprising a lateral face, at least one speaker mounted inside said cushion, said speaker being oriented towards said face, at least one acoustic duct extending from said speaker to said face, said duct comprising a bent portion, said portion forming all or part of said duct, so as to open said duct substantially towards the front of the duct; vehicle and reorient the sound emitted by said speaker. With such an arrangement, the sound propagated by the speaker is directed exclusively to the seat passenger, which may be unsuitable when other passengers wish to benefit from the sound provided by said speaker. The invention aims to overcome this disadvantage. For this purpose, the invention provides a headrest for a motor vehicle seat, said headrest comprising: - a cushion comprising a side face, - at least one speaker mounted inside said cushion, said top -parleur being oriented towards said face, - at least one acoustic duct extending from said speaker towards said face, said duct comprising a curved part, said part forming all or part of said duct, so as to open said duct substantially towards the front of the vehicle and reorient the sound emitted by said loudspeaker, said curved portion being rotatably mounted along a transverse axis so as to make it possible to open said duct in a plurality of other directions substantially perpendicular to said axis, in order to allow sound propagation according to one of said directions chosen by a user.

In this description, the terms of positioning in the space (top, side, front, rear, transverse, ...) are taken in reference to the headrest disposed in use configuration in the vehicle.

With the proposed arrangement, it is possible to carry out propagation of the sound in a direction chosen by a user, and in particular, in a particular embodiment, upwards - so that all the passengers have the sound performance - or towards the rear - so that passengers disposed rear 10 of the seat can also dispose of it. Referring to the figures, a headrest 1 for a motor vehicle seat is described, said headrest comprising: - a cushion 2 comprising a side face 3, - at least one speaker 4, mounted inside said pad, said speaker being directed towards said face, at least one acoustic duct extending from said loudspeaker to said face, said duct including a curved portion 6, said portion forming all or part of said duct, in such a way as to make said duct 3028814 3 emerge substantially towards the front of the vehicle and reorient the sound emitted by said loudspeaker, said curved portion being rotatably mounted along a transverse axis 7 so as to make it possible to open said duct in a plurality of ways other directions substantially perpendicular to said axis, to allow propagation of the sound according to one of said directions chosen by a user. According to a particular embodiment: - the cushion 2 comprises two lateral faces 3, 10 - two speakers 4 are mounted inside said cushion, said speakers being respectively oriented towards each of said faces, - two acoustic ducts 5 ' extend respectively from each of said loudspeakers to the corresponding faces 3, said ducts each comprising a bent portion 6, said part forming all or part of the duct 5 concerned, so as to open said duct substantially towards the front of the vehicle and reorienting the sound emitted by the loudspeaker 4, said curved portions being rotatably mounted along a transverse axis 7 so as to make it possible to open said ducts in a plurality of other directions substantially perpendicular to said axis, in order to allow propagation sound according to one of said directions chosen by a user. We now describe the configuration of a side portion of a headrest 1, knowing that said configuration can be duplicated laterally on either side of said headrest when it is provided with two speakers 4 According to the embodiment shown, a duct 5 is provided with an obscuration grille 8.

According to the embodiment shown, the bent portion 6 is mounted so as to be able to rotate substantially half a turn, so as to allow propagation of the sound forwards, upwards and backwards of the vehicle.

According to the embodiment shown, the headrest 1 comprises a part 9 in particular of molded plastic material - in the general shape of hollow spherical cap projecting from a lateral face 3 of the cushion 2, said part being mounted in rotation in its center along the transverse axis 7, said part having a blind portion 10 - here corresponding to substantially one half of said cap - forming the curved portion 6 of the duct 5, the other part 11 of said part - here substantially the other half of said cap - having a plurality of orifices 12 so as to form a grid 8 for propagation of the sound emitted by the loudspeaker 4.

REVENDICATIONS1. Headrest (1) for a motor vehicle seat, said headrest comprising: - a cushion (2) comprising a lateral face (3), - at least one speaker (4) mounted inside said cushion said loudspeaker being directed towards said face; at least one acoustic duct (5) extending from said loudspeaker to said face, said duct including a curved portion (6), said portion forming all or part of said duct, so as to make said duct open substantially towards the front of the vehicle and reorient the sound emitted by said loudspeaker, said headrest being characterized in that said curved portion is rotatably mounted according to a transverse axis (7) so as to to make it possible to lead said conduit in a plurality of other directions substantially perpendicular to said axis, to allow propagation of the sound according to one of said directions chosen by a user. 2. Headrest according to claim 1, characterized in that: - the cushion (2) comprises two side faces (3), - two speakers (4) are mounted inside said cushion, said speakers being respectively oriented towards each of said faces, two acoustic ducts (5) respectively extend from each of said loudspeakers to the corresponding faces (3), said ducts each comprising a bent portion (6), said part forming all or part the duct (5) concerned, so as to open said duct substantially towards the front of the vehicle and reorient the sound emitted by the loudspeaker (4), said curved portions being mounted in rotation along the axis (7) transverse so as to make it possible to lead said conduits in a plurality of other directions substantially perpendicular to said axis, to allow propagation of the sound according to one of said directions chosen by a user. 3028814 6 3. headrest according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that a duct (5) is provided with a gate (8) concealment. 5 4. Headrest according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that it comprises a part (9) in the general shape of hollow spherical cap projecting from a lateral face (3) of the cushion (2), said part being rotatably mounted at its center along the transverse axis (7), said part having a blind part (10) forming the curved part (6) of the conduit (5), the other part (11) of said a part having a plurality of orifices (12) so as to form a grid (8) for propagation of the sound emitted by the loudspeaker (4).
