Abstract

Tool to limit the risks of sabering or sanding bottles of sparkling wines. It consists of a handle (1) holding a metal part or thick blade (2) refined in its center (3) and on at least one side. The end of the blade opposite the handle acts as a balance (4) to increase the inertia of the action. The blade also comprises a weakening zone (5) of the bottle, in which at least one glass precut tool (6) is located. The action is performed by a rotary motion of the hand. The neck of the bottle is held between the thumb and the tool. The thumb exerts pressure to use the precut tool (6). The tool according to the invention is particularly intended for sabering or sanding champagne bottles and sparkling wines.

Description

The present invention relates to a tool for breaking the neck of closed glass bottles containing an edible gaseous liquid. The verbs commonly referred to for this purpose are "slashing" or "sanding".

Sabering is traditionally done using a large knife or sword (miniaturized or not), which may hurt the user. Indeed, during their use, said knives or sabers can not completely eliminate the dangerous cuts of the neck, the glass projections, see explosions of bottles. These metal objects being generally pointed and / or sharp, there is also a risk for the user's entourage.

20The tool according to the invention makes it possible to completely remedy these disadvantages, at least to greatly reduce the probability. Indeed, and according to a first feature, a thick metal part, (ref steel: ZDP189) held by a handle, which could be described as "blade", possibly not sharp and not sharp enough to blow the cap. The thickness of the latter is refined at about its center, at the point of contact with the bottle. The end of the metal part opposite the handle being heavier, it therefore acts as a balance, which increases the inertia of the tool and increases the safety of the action. This tool also comprises, and according to a second characteristic, a weakening zone of the neck of the bottle, with in its belt at least one pre-cut glass tool. Positioned in an eccentric manner. This makes it possible to make a weakness in the material constituting the bottle, at the base of the neck, to facilitate and secure the subsequent action of the blade of the tool. According to the particular embodiments: -The weakening space of the glass can be located between the handle and the blade, on the upper part of the tool (possibly opposed to the refined part of the blade) so as to increase the ergonomics of the object. -The blade can be refined on one side and evenly with respect to the edges thereof, the tool can thus be used ambidextrously. The embrittlement space comprises at least one pre-cut glass tool. The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention. FIG. 1 represents, in view of an artist, the device of the first characteristic, and in particular the way in which the The blade is worked to act as a pendulum and be used ambidextrously. FIG. 2 represents in section the device of the second characteristic of the invention, and in particular the situation and the shape of the embrittlement space on the blade. The situation and the shape of at least one precut tool in the embrittlement space is also proposed. With reference to these drawings, the tool comprises a handle (1) holding a metal part or blade (2), refined on one side. approximately at its center (3) and evenly with respect to the edges thereof. The balance (4) is located opposite the handle. This tool is ambidextrous. The weakening space (5) is located between the handle and the metal part. The size of it corresponds to the neck diameter of a standard bottle of sparkling wine. This is where the part under the neck of the bottle will be weakened by at least one pre-cut tool (6) and thanks to a rotating action of the hand and a thumb rest. By way of nonlimiting example the tool will have a total length of 350.2 mm, a total width of 300 mm and a maximum thickness of 139 mm and a blade thickness of 5 mm. The tool according to the invention is particularly intended for slicing (or sanding) glass bottles, champagne and sparkling wines. 20
