Les peignoirs de coiffure peuvent également traditionnellement se fermer avec un lacet coulissant qui ne permet pas aux pans du peignoir de se croiser et donc de protéger les vêtements du client. Les peignoirs de coiffure peuvent également se fermer avec des boutons-pression, mais cela ne permet pas d'ajuster correctement la taille du col et oblige les coiffeurs à exercer une pression sur le cou du client pour le fermer, ce qui le rend inconfortable. Le peignoir de coiffure à bande d'aimants permanents autoajustables permet de remédier à tous ces inconvénients. Le peignoir à aimants permanents est assemblé de manière à ce que les deux petits pans se croisent et se superposent.
