Description
- The present invention relates to accessories for hair cutting and set or also for styling sessions, particularly for the protection of the person receiving the service.
- Specifically, it relates to a protective cape for hairdressing and beauty treatments, for use by the customer who undergoes beauty treatments such as hairdressers and make-up artists.
- More particularly, the present invention relates to a protective accessory that uses a cape with zipper closure as described in claim 1.
- Moreover, the present invention contemplates that the above cape, of soft adaptable material, has such dimensions as to cover the body, from the shoulders down, of the person receiving the service when sitting, and preferably also the armchair on which he/she is sitting.
- Moreover, the present invention relates to a waterproof protective system of the above accessory, particularly useful for the protection from water or from the liquids applied and which may fall on the accessory with zipper closure.
- Moreover, the present invention relates to a further protective screen, that is to say, at least waterproof, which is applied, preferably stitched, on the upper portion of the cape, and which is thus screened in the areas corresponding to the treatment.
- This allows easy cleaning of the area, subject to smear by the residues fallen, and also the further protection for the person subject to the treatment, who will not suffer any discomfort during the same.
- To carry out treatments on the head or face of a subject sitting awaiting treatment, it is known to arrange a protective means such as capes or mantles to preserve the body parts and in particular the clothing; in this way, smears such as hair clippings, or substances to be applied to the hairstyle, dyes etc... preserve the customer and minimize the trouble thereof.
- Therefore, it is practices to fully wrap the cape around the customer's neck, and close two flaps thereof.
- The known closing solutions, i.e., by means of buttons or Velcro type systems (registered trademark), are not fully effective.
- In fact, it happens that the area around the neck is the area most likely to receive smear, mainly the hair clippings fallen: this area should therefore be well adjusted and sealed. Neither button of Velcro type systems succeed in the task, for the following reasons:
- Button systems, as known, only allow a few adjustments, and if the customer does not have the same neck size as the button closure, the hairdresser can usually only apply a towel or create a flap so as to close the gaps in the surrounding area.
- The Velcro type systems have the same closing drawbacks, in addition hair clippings can settle on the Velcro portion, to the detriment of hygiene and of the closure efficacy over time.
- Another drawback that occurs with both closing systems, both buttons and Velcro, is that due to the fact that an opening remains between the edges flaps of the cape not closed by the buttons in which hair could catch. Usually, this is solved by extending the portion of one of the flaps on the other, but also such a solution is a palliative and the tightness is not guaranteed.
- One object of the present invention is to provide an improved and effective accessory, a cape for hairdresser and stylist, with a simple, rational and rather cost-effective solution.
- These and other objects are achieved with the features of the invention described in the independent claims . The dependent claims describe preferred and/or particularly advantageous aspects of the invention.
- In particular, one embodiment of the present invention provides a protective cape for hairdressing and beauty treatments with zipper closure, or zip.
GB 2 264 234US 2 199 334 also disclose hairdresser's capes having two-part zippers. - With this solution, the cape with the changes made improves comfort, convenience and elegance.
- It represents a full coverage during the work on the customer in such a way that the person who will be subjected to the services does not worry about the residues left during the technical work.
- Moreover, the cape made with these features:
- is industrially reproducible without increasing the costs already present on the market,
- has a longer life,
- is more practical since the two flaps of the cape can be joined quickly and the size thereof can be adapted to each person,
- is more comfortable for the customer.
- A further object of the invention is to provide the cape with a zipper coupling system consisting of a single tape. In particular, single tape means that the zipper consists of a single tape (which bears a respective chain of links forming the zipper), or a single segment stitched on the cape which, by bending on the neck and going back on the other side, allows the slider to close the zipper itself.
- In other words, the zipper consists of a slider which closes the two contiguous zipper flaps of a single tape.
- This new circular coupling system makes the operation of perfectly adjusting and adapting the size to the circumference of the customer's neck, locking the slider exactly where the diameter of the neck ends. In addition, this protects the body by creating a barrier adapted to prevent the technical residues from passing during the work. The invention thus created for the cape neckline provides a system never created before, with a neckline closure.
- The resulting advantages can be summarized in savings of production costs, since a single continuous zipper tape is used which bends on the neck and returns on the other side, through a suitable stitching.
- Another aspect of the invention is to provide a cape provided, in addition to said zipper closure, also with of a waterproof protective screen applied, preferably stitched, on the upper portion of the same.
- With this solution, the cape is screened and protected in the areas corresponding to the treatment, thus being always dry and comfortable for the person receiving the treatment, ensuring the tightness thereof.
- Said objects and advantages are all achieved by the protective cape for hairdressing and beauty treatments, object of the present invention, which is characterized by the claims below.
- This and other features will become more apparent from the following description of some of the configurations, illustrated purely by way of example in the accompanying drawings.
-
Figure 1 : shows a top view of a cape for hairdressing or beauty treatments, not according to the invention; the cape is in the closed configuration, -
Figure 2 : shows a front view of the cape in use on the person receiving the cutting, styling or the treatment in general, -
Figure 3 : shows the person seen from behind at the time of closing the flaps of the cape; the slider of the zipper on one tape prior to coupling. -
Figures 4 ,5, 6 : show a second embodiment variant of the protective cape with the zipper closing system with a single tape stitched on the flaps and bending on the neck area of the cape itself. - With particular reference to
figures 1 ,2, 3 , reference numeral 1 indicates a protective cape for hairdressing and beauty treatments. - It is an element of thin thickness, with such shape and dimensions as to cover a sitting person, as indicated by
figures 2 and 3 . - A
hole 2 is located almost centrally, the space for the neck of the person on which said cape 1 is to be wrapped. - It is noted that a quadrangular cape 3 with
rounded corners 4 is shown herein, however, the geometry is not limiting of the requested protection and can be subjected to any variant. - It is noted that cape 1 can be opened to allow fitting the customer; in this respect, it is noted that a two-part zipper, representing an illustrative example not forming part of the present invention and indicated with
reference numeral 5, is stitched on theedges 9 and 10 thereof, provided withslider 6 to allow the closure of the two parts making up the zipper, each of which is integral with therespective edge 9, 10. - The direction of the zipper, or edges, may vary; in the example, the aperture is formed along
edges 9 and 10 perpendicular to one side of the cape; this also allows saving on the length of the zipper and thus also on the final cost of the cape itself. - It is noted that the edges start from the outer border and reach
hole 2. - In this way, by adjusting the closure of the zipper which takes place by joining the border first and then going up towards the neck, as shown in
figure 3 , the hairdresser or make-up artist can adjust and adapt it perfectly to fit the customer's neck, with a quick and precise action which definitely improves the protection of the cape. - It is also seen in the figures that the cape is provided, in addition to a
zipper closure 5, also with aprotective screen 7 which covers at least part the upper area, or that facing the customer, as also shown infigure 2 or 3 . -
Screen 7 is waterproof and is preferably stitched on the upper portion of the cape, as indicated byreference numeral 8. - However, and alternatively, rather than being stitched,
screen 7 may be fixed with temporary coupling means, such as buttons and/or a Velcro type system; with this solution, one can remove or apply the screen subsequently. - Preferably,
screen 7 is made of silicone material, rubber or other. - In any case, with this solution, the cape is protected in the areas corresponding to the treatment, thus being always dry and comfortable for the person receiving the treatment.
- Finally, the cape is provided with an insulating strip, a kind of collar, stitched around the collar of the cape. Any infiltration of water is prevented with this solution.
- According to the invention as seen in
figures 4 ,5, 6 ,reference numeral 11 indicates a protective cape for hairdressing and beauty treatments. - It is an element of thin thickness, with such shape and dimensions as to cover a sitting person, as indicated by
figures 5 and 6 . - A
hole 12 is located almost centrally, the space for the neck of the person on which saidcape 11 is to be wrapped. - It is noted that a
quadrangular cape 13 withrounded corners 14 is shown herein, however, the geometry is not limiting of the requested protection and can be subjected to any variant. - It is noted that
cape 11 can be opened to allow fitting the customer; in this respect, it is noted that a zipper, indicated withreference numeral 15, is stitched on theedges slider 16. - In this embodiment,
cape 11 therefore comprises said zipperflap closing system 15 bearing a single tape 17, i.e. a single segment stitched on bothedges cape 11 so as to bend around theneck area 12 and go down at the opposite side and allow arelative slider 16 to closezipper 15 itself. -
Cape 15 may still have theprotective screen 7 as said above, and also the stitched collar. - The length of
zipper cape 1, 11. - The neck coupling with one or more rows that will form the zipper in this case allows adjusting the circular diameters by taking advantage of the reverse that has never been used before.
- By leaving the zipper open by another use never had before, i.e. of adjusting the neck sizes by making the slider end where its path is not allowed anymore gives the precise circumference, so as not to let hair clippings or other pass through, thus ensuring more hygiene to the customer.
