Abstract

The device has a strip (2) indicating that a tap (7) is not open by horizontality. The strip is welded with a ring (3), which freely turns around a rod (5). A notch (4) in the rod enables axial attaching of the ring with the rod. A split ring (6) is fixed on a body of the tap. A slit (8) of the split ring is formed horizontal in a diagnosis position of the tap. A cut side (9) is machined in the slit of the split ring towards a wheel (1) of the tap. A degree of opening of the tap is displayed by obliqueness of the strip abutting against the cut side.

Description

The present invention relates to a mechanical system which makes it possible to visualize the open or closed state of a valve and to prevent its closure by mistake. Quarter-turn faucets make it easy to see if the faucet is open or closed. This is not the case for screw-type faucets for which several turns are possible. Currently, the only way to know the condition of the faucet is to turn it to realize and to go against its open state completely or completely closed and then put it in the desired position. This action is necessary each time one wants to check. The invention allows, on the taps whose rod is horizontal, to note, 10 by the horizontal position of a slat, the closure of the tap without having to handle it. A different position indicates that the valve is more or less open. The device comprises a slat of a certain weight welded to a ring. This ring comes around the stem of the tap. The ring must be able to turn around this rod with as little friction as possible. This ring is secured to the steering wheel or the stem of the valve so that it follows the more or less sunken position of the rod in the body of the valve and thus bring more or less the plate of the valve body. This fastening does not prevent the rotation of the blade around the rod. On the body of the tap is intimately fixed a split ring around the stem. The slot of the ring is oriented so that the radius passing through this slot is horizontal in the diagnostic position of the valve. In this slot is inserted the lamella when the tap is closed. When you unscrew the cock, the slide leaves this slot and its weight naturally falls. An inclined pan is machined on the bottom of the slot on the face towards the steering wheel. Thus, the degree of inclination of the slat depends on the unscrewing of the valve. Vertical, the slat indicates that the valve is fully open. In order to be able to close the valve, the strip must be horizontal so as to fit into the slot of the ring. A voluntary intervention to raise the coverslip is obligatory, because otherwise, the coverslip blocks against the ring. Thus, there can be no closure of the faucet by giddy. The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention: Figure 1 shows a view of the various parts before assembly. Figure 2 shows the valve in the closed position. Figure 3 shows the valve in the open position. Figure 4 shows the different views of the valve in the closed position with the cuts for better understanding.

With reference to these drawings, the device comprises a wheel (1) fixed to a rod (5) in which there is a notch (4). This notch secures the ring (3) axially to the rod without preventing rotation. The blade (2) is welded to the ring (3). Intimately attached to the body of the valve (7) is the ring (6) whose horizontal slot (8) has a cutaway downward (9). This pan allows the blade to fit more easily into the slot and also, when the blade rests with its weight against the cutaway, to visually inform the degree of obliquity of the blade, the depression more or less important. rod in the valve body and thus the opening more or less large faucet.

In Figure 2, we can see that the horizontal strip corresponds to a closed faucet, while the vertical strip shows an open faucet. It's the weight that makes the slat fall. It is important that a gap (10) persists between the slat and the valve body in the closed position so that the slat does not prevent the true closure of the valve.

This system increases safety when the standard operating position of the valve is the open position. The horizontal display of the slat does not ensure the total and perfect closure of the valve. By cons this position indicates that the valve is not open properly. This guarantee is particularly important when vital fluids or gases are used for example in scuba diving, in anesthesia resuscitation, to extinguish fires etc ... 30
