Abstract
Description
DESCRIPTION DETAILLEE DE L'INVENTION La figure 1 représente une jambe d'atterrisseur d'aéronef incorporant un amortisseur. The invention relates to an aircraft undercarriage equipped with a diaphragm holder tube made of thermoplastic material. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Most aircraft undercarriages use an oleopneumatic-type damper having a first member (often the sliding rod which carries the wheels) which slides in a second member. The damper may constitute a leg of the undercarriage articulated on the aircraft, or be in the form of an independent element coupled to a rocker arm. The two elements define an internal volume separated into two chambers by a diaphragm secured to the casing, a first chamber extending on one side of the diaphragm inside the first element and filled with hydraulic fluid (sometimes referred to as the air chamber). oil), and a second chamber (sometimes referred to as an air chamber) extending across the diaphragm and filled with hydraulic fluid and pressurized gas, such as nitrogen. The diaphragm has orifices calibrated to allow the passage of hydraulic fluid from one chamber to another by generating a hydraulic resistance to this passage. The diaphragm is generally carried at the end of a diaphragm tube which has another end connected to the box. The diaphragm tube is generally dimensioned in compression, in landing cases in which the pressure difference between the lower face and the upper face of the diaphragm is maximum. It is important to ensure that the diaphragm tube does not flare up under compressive force. Diaphragm tubes are traditionally made of steel or light alloy for mass reasons. However, manufacturing and handling constraints impose minimum thicknesses that do not reduce the weight of the diaphragm tube, while it is often oversized for the efforts it is supposed to undergo. In addition, the tubes made of steel have substantial web thicknesses to resist buckling, thereby increasing their mass. OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The subject of the invention is an aircraft undercarriage comprising a shock absorber equipped with a diaphragm carrier tube for lightening the undercarriage, and a decrease in cost. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION With a view to achieving this object, an aircraft undercarriage comprising an oleopneumatic-type damper filled with hydraulic fluid and gas and provided with a diaphragm for separating the interior of the shock absorber is proposed. in two chambers and through which the hydraulic fluid can pass undergoing a hydraulic resistance, the diaphragm being carried by a diaphragm holder tube, wherein, according to the invention, the diaphragm holder tube is made of thermoplastic material. The use of thermoplastic material makes it possible to obtain lighter diaphragm tubes for an identical shape. What's more, shape optimization can be achieved by molding or injecting the diaphragm tube, further reducing its mass. According to one particular aspect of the invention, the thermoplastic material is polyetheretherketone (PEEK for PolyEtherEtherKetone) and contains short reinforcing fibers, preferably of carbon. According to another particular aspect of the invention, the diaphragm holder tube comprises a tubular running part reinforced by longitudinal stiffeners made of material, and / or it comprises a flared end part defining an external cylindrical bearing surface for positioning. of the diaphragm holder tube in the landing gear housing, the flared portion having a series of convergent internal ribs. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The invention will be better understood in the light of the following description of a particular embodiment of the invention, with reference to the figures of the appended drawings in which: FIG. 1 is a sectional view schematic of an aircraft landing gear known per se whose damper comprises a diaphragm holder tube; FIG. 2 is a sectional view of a known diaphragm tube shown in the interior of the damper; - Figure 3 is a sectional view of a diaphragm-holder tube according to a particular embodiment of the invention, shown inside the damper; Figures 4 and 5 are perspective views of the diaphragm tube of Figure 3. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Figure 1 shows an aircraft landing gear leg incorporating a shock absorber. In a manner known per se, the leg comprises a casing 1 in which a rod 2 is mounted to slide. The rod 2 carries at its lower end an axle for receiving wheels, or a bogie carrying several wheels. A diaphragm 3 carried by a diaphragm holder 4 separates the inside of the leg 30 into a first chamber 5 filled with hydraulic fluid and a second chamber 6 filled with hydraulic fluid and pressurized gas. The first chamber is further delimited by a bottom 7 attached to the rod 2. Under the bottom 7 extends a third chamber 8 filled with hydraulic fluid which is separated from a fourth chamber 9 filled with gas under high pressure. by a separating piston 10. In a manner known per se, the diaphragm 3 and the bottom 7 are equipped with calibrated orifices allowing the passage of fluid from the first chamber 5 to the second chamber 6, and from the first chamber 5 to the third room 8, respectively. All this is well known and is only recalled as an illustration. It should be noted that the diaphragm tube 4 has an upper end which is directly connected to the ceiling of the chamber 1, while its lower end carries the diaphragm 3. In FIG. diaphragm 14 similar to that shown in Figure 1, except that its upper end has a cylindrical surface 15 which is adapted to be fitted with a small clearance (and interposition of a seal) in a homologous cylindrical bearing formed in the cylindrical portion of the box 1, bearing against a step of the box. The diaphragm holder tube 140 here comprises a substantially tubular running portion 16 which terminates in a bearing surface 17 adapted to slide in the rod 2, and an end portion 18 on which the diaphragm 3 is attached. Furthermore, the top of the tube is solid and forms a vault 19 able to effectively withstand the high pressures in the chamber 6, which is here delimited higher by the top of the tube. In Figures 3,4 and 5, a diaphragm carrier tube 30 according to the invention has been shown in position in the box 1 of a landing gear. The diaphragm holder tube 30 has a tubular running portion 31 which is reinforced by longitudinal stiffeners 32 which here extend outside the tubular running portion 31. The stiffeners 32 are regularly distributed around the tubular running portion. 31. There is at the lower end a bearing surface 33 which has a groove for receiving a seal, and the end portion 34 for receiving the diaphragm 3. The upper end 35 is here flared for finish on a centering surface 36, also having a groove for receiving a seal. The upper end 35 has a bottom which forms an axisymmetrical arch 37 on which the tubular running portion 31 connects. The vault is here consolidated from the inside by a double stiffening system: on the one hand a network of ribs 38 which all converge towards the central axis of the tube, and on the other hand a network of coaxial cylindrical stiffeners 39, the stiffeners of the two networks intersecting at right angles. In this way, the arch 37 is perfectly stabilized and can withstand high pressure forces, while having an optimal material arrangement contributing to the lightening of the diaphragm holder tube.
The diaphragm carrier tube of the invention is here made of thermoplastic material, preferably polyetheretherketone comprising short carbon fibers. The density of such a material is of the order of 1.4, compared with the density of a light alloy, of the order of 2.7. The diaphragm holder tube 30 is preferably obtained by injection, which makes it possible to obtain a thin-walled product that does not require any recovery. All this contributes to lowering the weight of the diaphragm tube and its cost.
The invention is not limited to what has just been described, but on the contrary covers any variant within the scope delimited by the claims. In particular, in particular, we can use only one network of stiffeners to strengthen the vault, if this is sufficient.
