Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an interior lining of a motor vehicle, and more particularly to a lining which comprises a plastic wall covered with at least a portion of textile material. The invention also relates to a vehicle equipped with said lining, and to a method of assembling a vehicle equipped with said lining. The patent document FR 2 949 500 describes a part comprising a plastic film hinge. The hinge disclosed has a rectilinear area of small thickness for folding the part. The thin area includes at least one hole, dividing the area into at least two segments. A tear of one of the segments is stopped by the hole adjacent to the segment, and does not propagate on the next segment also adjacent to the hole. A plastic hinge using a similar principle is disclosed in CA Patent 1,255,466. These known devices allow the shaping of a hinge directly into the structure of a plastic member. An interior lining of a motor vehicle, in particular that covering a side face of a luggage compartment, can be shaped from a plastic wall which is cut in a predefined contour. The wall is then formed, for example by thermal effect, to acquire its final shape in three dimensions. The plastic material used for such gaskets is preferably substantially rigid at room temperature. However, it may be useful to provide a folding zone in such a lining, for example to access a space covered by the liner when it is in position on the vehicle body. Known plastic hinge devices, however, impact the appearance of the plastic material by having a region of reduced thickness along the hinge axis which may tear. The thinned zone also considerably reduces the rigid appearance of a vehicle lining around the fold line itself, which is not favorable.
The object of the invention is to propose a lining which overcomes at least one of the abovementioned disadvantages. More particularly, the object of the invention is to propose a hinged trim that is simple to make, of discrete and solid appearance.
The invention relates to an interior lining of a motor vehicle. The lining comprises a plastic wall covered with at least a portion of textile material. The gasket is remarkable in that the plastic wall comprises a perforated path for facilitating the folding of said gasket along said path.
The perforations that form the perforated path may preferably have an elongated shape. Preferably, all the perforations may pass through or pierce the plastic wall and may have an essentially equivalent shape. The spaces between the perforations may preferably be smaller than the length of the perforations, so as to reduce the structural rigidity of the wall at the path. The lining may advantageously be a boot side trim of a motor vehicle. The or at least one of the textile parts which cover the plastic wall may preferably comprise perforations aligned with the perforations of the plastic wall. A first face of the plastic wall may preferably be completely covered by a portion of felted material. More preferably, a second face of the wall may also be covered with a textile or plastic material. Preferably, the plastic wall may be able to weaken structurally and / or break along the path by the folding movement at an average angle greater than 45 °, preferably 90 °. The textile material then provides a hinge function along said path. The perforated path may preferably originate at one edge of the liner.
The invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising a body, a trunk and an interior trim. The vehicle is remarkable in that the interior liner is in accordance with the invention described. Preferably the liner may be a trunk side trim of the vehicle, and said perforated path facilitates folding of the liner so as to access an element of the bodywork covered by the liner. The subject of the invention is also a method of assembling a vehicle on an assembly line, which is remarkable in that the vehicle conforms to the invention described, and by the following steps: (a) Setting up temporary interior trim at a given station of the assembly line; (b) The establishment at a station at the station of the step (a) of an element on a portion of the body of the vehicle covered by the lining, said placing including the folding of the lining along the perforated path to access said body portion. Preferably, step (a) may comprise folding the liner along the perforated path. In such a case, the folding is no longer performed in step (b). After having accessed said portion of bodywork to set up the element in question, the lining can preferably be folded along the perforated path to install the liner in its final form. The liner may preferably be a trunk side liner and the member set up in step (b) may preferably be a trunk striker. The measures of the invention make it possible to propose an interior lining of a vehicle, such as, for example, a trunk side trim, having the particularity of having a predefined folding path. When assembling a vehicle along a production line, a liner according to the present invention allows access to body elements covered by the lining which has already been put in place at an earlier stage of the production. 'assembly. Indeed, a portion of the liner can be folded on itself along the predefined perforated path, to give access to underlying bodywork elements. Depending on the shape and location of the perforated path, a trim according to the present invention can also facilitate the provision of access hatches to spaces hidden by the trim, such as pockets, for example. The textile material that covers the plastic wall maintains the structural appearance of the liner, while facilitating its folding along the perforated path. In addition, the textile material covering the face of the lining which is apparent to the user of the vehicle maintains a homogeneous visual appearance on the entire lining, including the perforated course. Other features and advantages of the present invention will be better understood from the description and the drawings, of which: - Figure 1 is a schematic perspective illustration of a packing according to an advantageous embodiment of the present invention. - Figure 2 is a schematic side sectional view of a packing according to an advantageous embodiment of the present invention. - Figure 3 is a perspective view of elements constituting a vehicle trunk, comprising a liner according to an advantageous embodiment of the present invention. - Figure 4 is a perspective view of elements constituting a vehicle trunk, comprising a liner according to an advantageous embodiment of the present invention. Similar references are used to describe similar concepts through different embodiments. For example, references 101 and 201 will be used to describe a liner according to the present invention in different embodiments.
Figures 1 and 2 give a schematic illustration of a liner 101 according to the present invention. The lining comprises a wall 102 of plastics material having a substantially rigid structure per se. The use of such walls for forming interior trim of motor vehicles is known per se to those skilled in the art. Although the illustrated wall is flat, it may take any form appropriate to the use of the liner, without departing from the scope of the present invention. The wall comprises at least one dotted cutting path 104. The perforations which constitute the path 104 pierce or pass through the wall 102. The perforated path 104 marks a path of less rigidity of the wall. The folding of the wall 102 is facilitated along the path 104. There are a multitude of shapes and arrangements of perforations within the reach of those skilled in the art, which are equivalent for the purposes of the present invention provided that the resulting path facilitates the folding of the wall 102. In an advantageous mode, all the perforations have the same essentially elongated shape. The spacings between the perforations are shorter in size than the lengths of the perforations. As indicated in FIGS. 1 and 2, at least one of the faces of the wall 102 is covered with a textile part 103. The textile part preferably covers the entire surface of the wall and is preferably bonded to the wall. wall 102. If only one of the faces of the wall is covered with a textile part, it is preferable that this face corresponds to the face of the lining which will be apparent after the installation of the lining. This guarantees a homogeneous visual appearance. The textile portion 103 is preferably made of felt. It hides the perforations 104 and maintains the general structure of the lining 101, while allowing it to be folded along the perforated path. In an alternative embodiment, the perforations defining the path 104 pierce or pass through all layers forming the liner, including the textile portion that covers the plastic wall. Figure 3 illustrates an interior view of a portion of a vehicle trunk 211. The trunk is delimited at the bottom by a lining forming the floor, behind by a trunk opening, forward by the rear seats of the vehicle not shown, and laterally by a trunk side trim 201 according to an advantageous embodiment of the present invention. . All the fittings are preferably attached to the bodywork 210 of the vehicle by means not described and known to those skilled in the art.
Figure 4 shows the elements of Figure 3, but provides an outside view of the trunk 211. The liner 201 has a perforated path 204 substantially straight. The path 204 makes it possible to fold a portion of the trim 201 in order to access the underbody 210.
La matière textile 203 assure l'aspect visuel homogène à l'intérieur du coffre.30When assembling a vehicle, it is conceivable that the lining 201 is installed on the body before other elements, such as the trunk strut 212, are. Indeed, the trunk side trim 201 is a bulky item and therefore it may be interesting to set up at the beginning of the assembly line. At this stage of assembly, some elements (such as trunk locks or locks) are not yet installed on the body. An element such as the trunk striker must subsequently be attached to a bodywork element 210 which is already covered by the lining 201. In order to achieve the attachment of the striker without damaging the lining 201, it is possible to install at first the trim 201 temporarily. In a second step, the liner 201 is folded along the perforated path 204. The part of the side trim 201 which is adjacent to the opening of the trunk 211 is folded towards the inside of the trunk. The plastic wall, not visible in Figures 3 and 4 undergoes a structural weakening at the path 204 under the action of folding. The plastic wall can break under the action of folding, but the textile material 203 which covers it ensures that the resulting parts form a uniform assembly. In this case, the textile material acts as a hinge along the path 204. The folding of the lining makes it possible to access part of the body 210 in order to put in place the striker 212. The striker is then screwed on Body element 210. In a third step, the liner is folded back to its original shape. The lining is then permanently installed on the vehicle body. The textile material 203 ensures the homogeneous visual appearance inside the trunk.
