Abstract
Description
Slide and method of making a slide for a motor vehicle seat. The present invention relates to slides for vehicle seat and to a method of making such slides. More particularly, the invention relates to a slide for a vehicle seat comprising: a first section extending in a longitudinal direction X, said first section being provided with projecting ridges at its ends; a second section, said first and second sections being slidably mounted relative to one another in the longitudinal direction, in first and second opposite directions; an abutment comprising an abutment body which has a stop face adapted to abut against the second section thus limiting relative sliding between the first and second profiles in the first direction. The document FR2962384 describes an example of such a slide, in which the stop is made by a tongue, connected to one of the side walls of a first section, adapted to abut against a second section. The tongue is made by deformation or burst of the wall. Although the slides of this type are already satisfactory, the present invention is intended to simplify the implementation of such a stop and to increase the comfort of use existing slides. For this purpose, according to the invention, a slide of the kind in question is characterized in that it further comprises a protective element attached to the end of the first section to cover the projecting ridges of said first section, said protective element comprising said stop.
Thanks to these provisions, the abutment thus produced has a high impact resistance. In addition, the stop is easily implemented and positioned on the profile and the aesthetic appearance of the slide is improved. Advantageously, such a slide can be implemented on the front slides of three-door vehicle. Indeed, in this type of vehicle, the front stop of the front seat rails is particularly requested to allow access to the seats at the rear of the vehicle. Thus, by providing the front stop of the front seat rails on the protection element, the comfort of use is increased. In preferred embodiments of the invention, one or more of the following provisions may be used: the protective element and the abutment body are integral with each other; which facilitates the implementation of the stop on the slide by reducing the number of parts to be mounted; - The first section comprises a bottom, a first and a second side walls opposite to each other and interconnected by the bottom, the first and second walls and the bottom defining an inner profile space, the abutment is at least partially disposed in the interior space of the profile. The size is thus reduced; said abutment face is made of a first material, and an insert is provided to reinforce the abutment. The insert is made of a second material and assembled to the protection element, and the second material of the insert is stronger than the first material and the insert is adjacent in the longitudinal direction X to the abutment body and increases the resistance of said stop.
By choosing the first material more damping than the second material, the sound intensity resulting from the contact between the first and second sections can be reduced and a silent abutment can be achieved; the first material is a plastic material and the second material is a metallic material. The plastic material can easily dampen the sound resulting from the impact between the second section and the stop; the first profile has a substantially U-shaped section comprising a base and two opposite lateral wings extended by two reentrant troughs which extend inwards and towards the base and the second profile extends at least partially between the re-entrant part of the troughs and side walls; the protection element comprises a base body comprising a section substantially similar to the section of the first profile comprising a base and two opposite lateral wings extended by two reentrant troughs and the stop is fixed between a lateral wing of the protection element; and the re-entrant trough of the adjacent protective element; the second section has a substantially U-shaped section comprising a base and two opposite lateral wings extended by two outward troughs which extend outwards and towards the base, and a stop portion projecting in the extension of the outgoing troughs and adapted to abut against the abutment face of the first profile; the first material is more damping than the second material. The invention also relates to a method of producing such a slide.
Thus, the invention also aims at a method of producing a slideway in which the following steps are carried out: - to provide a first section extending in a longitudinal direction X, - to provide a protection element on which is fixed a stop which has an abutment face made of a first material, - providing an insert, intended to reinforce the abutment, made in a second material, - assembling the insert and the element, - mounting the element at the end of the first section - Mounting a second sliding profile relative to the first profile in the longitudinal direction X, in first and second opposite directions X1, X2. In one possible embodiment, the protection element comprises a lug (or pin) and the method of producing the slideway further comprises a step of ultrasonically welding the peg of the protection element to the first profile for to avoid any movement of said protection element (20) with respect to said first profile (11) inter alia in a Y mounting direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction X. Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent in the description following of one of its embodiments, given by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the drawings: FIG. 1 is a diagrammatic view of a seat that can be fitted with slides according to the invention; FIG. 2 is a perspective view of one of the slides according to the invention that can equip the seat of the FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the protective element fitted to the slide of FIG. 2; FIGS. 4A and 4B are a bottom view and an isometric view of the protective element of FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a first profile of the slide of FIG. 2; FIG. 6 is a view from above of the end of the profile of FIG. 5, - Figure 7 is a side view of a second section of the slide of Figure 2. In the different figures, the same references designate the same or similar elements. FIG. 1 shows a seat 1 of a motor vehicle 20 comprising a seat 2 mounted on the floor 7 of the vehicle, and a backrest 3 mounted on the seat 2. The seat 2 is connected to the floor 7 by two parallel rails 10, only one of which is visible in FIG. 1, making it possible to adjust the position of the seat 1 with respect to the floor 7 of the vehicle, by sliding in the longitudinal direction X of the slideways 10, in a first direction X1 (in this case towards the back) and in a second opposite direction X2 (in this case forward). A locking system is used to prohibit this sliding, and is operable by a control arrangement, to allow this sliding. This locking system and this controller are conventional and will not be described in more detail here.
As shown in FIG. 2, each of the slides 10 comprises a first profile 11 and a second profile 12, which extend in the longitudinal direction X. The first and second profiles 11, 12 are slidably mounted relative to each other. the other in the longitudinal direction X, in first and second opposite directions X1, X2. The first section is provided, as shown in FIG. 2, with a protection element 20. In addition, and as shown in the embodiment of FIG. 2, a protective cover 40 may be provided on the second section. 12 to cover its protruding edges. Figure 3 shows in more detail the protective element 20. The protective element 20 is preferably made of plastic material. The protection element has a U-shaped general section with a base 21, two lateral wings 22, 23 and a main façade 28 extending in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the longitudinal direction X. The element of FIG. protection further comprises an inner face oriented towards the inner space formed by the base 21 and the two lateral wings. The protection element further comprises an outer face, opposite to the inner face. The two lateral wings 22, 23 are extended by two walls or reentrant troughs 24, 25 extending towards the interior space and towards the base 21 of the protection element 20. The protection element 20 extends in depth along the longitudinal axis X, for example over a distance s of the order of a few centimeters. In particular, the lateral flanges 22, 23 and the upper part of the reentrant troughs 24, 25, in direct continuity with the lateral flanges 22, 23, extend in the longitudinal direction X beyond the base 21. 26 is made on the base 21 of the protection element 20. More precisely the base 21 which connects the two lateral wings 22, 23 does not have a continuous thickness in the longitudinal direction X but is provided at its center with a recess 27 which extends in the longitudinal direction X and on which the lug 26 is provided. The lug 26 is formed on the outer face of the base 21 of the protective element 20. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the lug 26 is generally cylindrical in shape, the base of the cylinder of which coincides with the face outside the base 21, and extends in a direction of projection Z perpendicular to the longitudinal direction X. The protective element, as shown more precisely in Figures 4 A and 4B, comprises a stop 50 with a stop body 51 and a stop face 52 adapted to abut against the second section 12 thus limiting relative sliding between the first and second profiles in the first direction X1. The abutment 50 is disposed between a lateral flange 22, 23 of the protective element 20 and the re-entrant trough 24, 25 which is adjacent thereto. The base 21 forms the lower part of the protective element 20 and the intermediate portion between the lateral wings 22, 23 and the reentrant troughs 24, 25 forms the upper part of the element 20. The stop 50 is located in the upper part of the protection element 20. It is advantageously located at a non-zero distance from the ends of the protective element in the longitudinal direction X. Preferably, the stop 50 and the protective element 20 are integral. In this case, the stop 50 and the protective element 20 are made of plastic material, for example by molding. An insert 30 is also assembled to the protective element 20. In a particular embodiment, the insert 30 can be assembled to the protection element 20 by snap-fastening. Alternatively, the protective element 20 and the abutment 50 may be partially overmolded on the insert 30. The insert 30 is adjacent to the abutment body 51 and reinforces the resistance of the abutment 50. More specifically, the insert 30 is adjacent to the abutment body in the longitudinal direction X. Advantageously, the insert 30 is made of metallic material. In the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 4, the insert has a reduced thickness along the longitudinal axis X that can range from a few millimeters to a few centimeters depending on the dimensions of the protection element 20 and the slideway 10. The insert comprises two flat surfaces 31, 32 and one of the flat surfaces of the insert is directly disposed opposite the face of the abutment 50 opposite the end face 52. The dimensions of the insert 30 and its flat surfaces 31, 32 are smaller than those of the stop body. They can also be substantially equal, so that the insert 30 remains invisible for a user looking at the abutment face along the longitudinal axis X. In other words, the abutment 50 completely covers the surface of the insert which is directly adjacent to it . The section of the insert 30 is substantially similar to the section of the abutment body 51. Once the insert is assembled in the protection element 20, said insert is between the abutment body 51 and the main facade 28 of the protection element 20. In the embodiment of FIG. 3, two similar stops 50 are fixed on the element 20, between each lateral wing 22, 23 of the element 20 and the adjacent re-entrant trough 24, 25, and at each stop is associated an insert 30. As illustrated in Figure 5, the first section 11 extends in a longitudinal direction X and comprises a profile base, also called bottom 110 and two side walls 111, 112. first and second side walls 111, 112 are opposed to each other and are interconnected by the bottom 110. The side walls 111, 112 and the bottom 110 thus define an inner portion of the first section called interior space. In this case the two lateral wings 111, 112 of the first profile are extended by two reentrant troughs 113, 114 which extend inwards and towards the base of the profile. The first section further comprises an inner face, facing the inner space of the profile, and an outer face, opposite to said inner face. The first profile is further provided with recesses 115, 116 as shown more specifically in FIG. 6. In particular, the first profile is provided with a first through recess 116 located on the bottom 110 of the profile. Possibly the first recess 116 is of circular shape. The first section further comprises a second recess 115 located on the intermediate portion between the side wall 111, 112 and the trough adjacent thereto 113, 114. The second recess 115 optionally has a generally rectangular shape. The abutment 50 and the insert 30 are adapted to be inserted into the second recess 115.
The protective element 20 provided with the abutment 50 and the insert 30 is assembled at the end of the first section 11 (see FIG. 2) in a direction of assembly Y perpendicular to the longitudinal direction X. In this case , the protection element 20 is mounted on the first section in a mounting direction Y normal to the plane formed by the bottom 110 of the first profile 11. In other words, the mounting of the protection element 20 is vertically relative to to the first profile. In particular, the protection element cooperates in form complementarity with the end 117 (see FIG. 5) of the first profile 11 in the longitudinal direction X and makes it possible to conceal the protruding edges of the first profile 11. In other words , the protective element 20 at least partially covers the end of the first profile 11. Therefore, the protective element 20 has not only a protective role, but also an aesthetic role. Advantageously the protective element 20 provided with the abutment 50 and the insert 30, and is fixed to the first section 11 via the recesses 115provided on the first section. In addition, the lug 26 of the protection element 20 cooperates with the recess 116. The base 21 of the protection element 20 is arranged facing the inner face of the base 110 of the first profile 11, and the other portions of the protective element 20 are located facing the outer face of the first profile 11. The protective element 20 thus covers all the protruding ridges of the end of the profile. The abutment 50 and the insert 30, fixed to the protection element 20, are received in the recess 116. The abutment 50 and the insert 30 then extend into the interior space of the first section. The protection element is thus assembled to the first profile by shape cooperation between the first recess 116 and the lug 26, between the second recess 115 and the stop 50 and the insert 30, and between the main face 28, and the end of the first section 11. Preferably, the protective element 20 is also attached to the first section 11 by welding. More specifically, the lug 26 is ultrasonically welded to the first profile 11. The second profile 12, in the embodiment of FIG. 7, has a substantially U-shaped section comprising a base 120 and two opposite lateral wings 121, 122 extended by two outward troughs 123, 124 which extend outwardly and towards the base 120. The second section has an inner face and an outer face opposite to the inner face. Areas of projection 125, 126 are located in the extension of the outgoing troughs 123, 124. The protruding areas are located on the second profile and extend longitudinally in the longitudinal direction X over a portion of the total length of the second profile 12 More particularly, the projection zones 125, 126 are centered on the length of the second profile 12 and are adapted to abut against the abutment face 52. In order to produce the slideway, which is the subject of the present invention, the second profile 12 is mounted in sliding relative to the first profile 11 (advantageously already comprising the abutment 50 and the insert 30) in the longitudinal direction X so that the second section 12 extends at least partially between the reentrant part of the troughs and the side walls 111, 112 of the first profile 11. More specifically, the second section is mounted so that the projection areas 125, 126 (also called stop portions 125, 126) extends between the reentrant portion of the troughs and the side walls 111, 112 of the first profile 11, and abuts on the abutment face 52. The abutment face 52 is made of a damping material , so that the sound intensity resulting from the shock between the first and the second section is low, providing auditory comfort for the user. In a variant of possible mounting of the slide, the protective element 20 can be assembled to the first profile after mounting the second section on the first section. In another possible variant, the insert 30 may be assembled to the protection element 20 after the attachment of said protection element to the first section. Advantageously, a second protective element 20 ', on which abutment and insert are assembled, is provided on the second end of the first profile 11. The relative sliding of the first and second profiles is then limited in the first direction X1 and in the second direction X2 .
