Abstract

The gauge has a tilting platform including a cutting zone (8) to receive wood logs (3) in an approximately parallel manner. The cutting zone is delimited by a floor that is provided approximately horizontally in a cutting position. A stop wall (18) is placed perpendicular to the floor. An external mounting unit (5), and a central mounting unit (6) maintain the logs against the cutting zone. The platform includes another cutting zone that is separated from the former cutting zone so as to enable the logs to be cut in one of the zones without a chain saw over-guided in the former cutting zone.
