Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a gravity potential energy storage device; this device is mechanical, it allows to produce electricity during a storage cycle and destocking The current technique can convert into electricity, kinetic energy, or movement energy, restored by a moving mass d An altitude A to an altitude B under the effect of gravity, the energy restored is related to the difference in height between the two altitudes and the importance of the mass. The solution I present is to use a long chain that is stored at an altitude A. One end of the chain is positioned at a lower altitude B. A mechanical device with an electric generator controls and controls the descent of the chain that forms a pile at the lowest altitude. The chain between the two altitudes is constantly renewed, its speed is calculated from different parameters. The amount of energy available is linked to the chain stock ready to go down to the lowest altitude; to know it we must take into account the weight of the chain between the two altitudes and the length of the chain stock. The accompanying drawings illustrate schematically the invention. Figure 1 shows the storage cycle, with the mechanical device and the electric generator (1) located at altitude A (2), the chain stock (3) and the altitude B (4). Figure 2 shows the destocking cycle with chain stock (5) at altitude B. Example of an embodiment. A production unit would consist of 24 chains of one length for each chain of 100 km, with a weight of 0.36 ton per ml, chain links are made of iron but the interior can be heavy concrete. the chains descend into a well of 1000 m depth, the bottom of the well has a larger volume in the form of "bottle". The mechanical device consists of a windlass (boat winch) connected by a gear train to a reversible electric generator. This device is particularly intended to be implanted near power distribution centers, with a storage cycle when consumption, is low, for example at night, and redistributed during consumption peaks, or, the lack of wind in the case of a wind farm.
