Abstract

The device has two extensions (4) removed from a rail through an opening. Four sliders (5) are removed from the rail through another opening by springs. The extensions are placed on the sliders and fixed by a screw. The extensions are placed under a board. The sliders are guided by sliding guides, where pressure applied at ends of the sliders releases the springs to slide each slider in a housing such that the sliders are pulled till an abutment (9) is locked.

Description

The present invention relates to a system of extensions and sliding integrated into a table, allowing it to enlarge the surface of its tray. The usual extendible table systems require: either to open the table in two parts in order to arrange the extension (s) in the center; this table is not a homogeneous object and its plate always has a joint at its center even when the extensions are not used. Moreover this one is usually hidden under the plate and not very accessible. Either pull the extensions from under the tray so that it falls to level with the extensions. This use can cause pinching of fingers. It is not possible to use one or two extensions. Another traditional system is to unfold the extensions linked to the tray by hinges remaining visible even when the extensions are folded; the sliding cleats for holding in the open position are not easy to access. Closed extension tables do not have a homogeneity and therefore a satisfactory aesthetics. The implementation of this type of table systematically poses a problem of ergonomics, the elements being difficult to access. The system according to the invention overcomes these disadvantages. It comprises indeed a plate of a single piece fixed and homogeneous. The two extensions are housed under the tray and remain accessible and visible on both sides of the belt of the table and are part of the aesthetics of the object. Just push them on one side and then pull them out to get them out. Sliders on which the extenders sèrbift posed, also housed under the tray and also accessible on both sides of the belt of the table. Their output will be effected by means of a simple pressure and thanks to a system of spring; it will be sufficient to pull them to their final blocking point. Fixing the extensions on these sliders can be performed by means of a screw through each slider and screwing into an insert positioned under the extension; or any other device for securing the extensions to the table. It is possible to choose to leave only one extension. The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention. Figure 1 shows a top view of the closed table with the device of the invention. Figure 2 shows a top view of the table in the opening phase. Figure 3 shows a top view of the table completely open. Figure 4 shows a sectional view of the closed table. Figure 5 shows in elevation a view of the closed table. Figure 6 shows in elevation a view of the open table. Figure 7 shows in elevation a view of the extension and sliding system. Figure 8 shows a sectional view of the sliding system and extensions. Referring to these drawings the device comprises a table body comprising a plate (1), a belt (2), four feet (3), two extensions (4), four sliding (5), extension guides (6) , sliding guides (7), four spring-loaded housings (8), four sliding stop (9), openings for insertion of the extensions into the belt (10), openings for insertion of the sliders into the belt (11), the holes for fixing the extensions by the screws (12).

Under the plate (1) are arranged four sliders (5) held and guided by sliding guides (7). A pressure on the end of the sliders (5) releases a spring (8) and allows each slide (5) out of its housing (11). It is sufficient to pull the slide until it is blocked by the stop (9). The extensions (4) are arranged under the plate (1) and under the slides (5) and guided and held by means of the guides (6). They are accessible on both sides of the belt (2) through the openings (10). Once out the extensions (2) are placed on the sliders (5) and, by way of non-limiting example, can be aimed from below by means of the screws (12). Depending on the production and storage needs this table can be manufactured in one piece or can be dismantled.
