La demande de brevet EP-A-O 357 517 décrit une dragonne analogue à l'invention. Cette dragonne comprend une manchette destinée à encercler le poignet. Une languette de fixation à un bâton est reliée à une bande raccordée à la manchette. La bande passe entre le pouce et l'index de la main de l'utilisateur. La manchette peut être ajustée à la taille du poignet de 10 l'utilisateur grâce à un moyen de fermeture. De plus, la répétition de ces contacts rigides peut générer une sensation de brûlure localisée. La demande de brevet WO-A-2010/057240 décrit une dragonne similaire présentant le même problème. La rotation de la main autour du poignet peut être gênée par une section de 35 la dragonne. L'ouverture de la bande peut alors être suffisante pour que la main puisse quitter la dragonne lors d'un mouvement de propulsion. L'utilisateur peut ainsi perdre son bâton. Outre la perte du bâton, cette ouverture involontaire apporte de l'inconfort à l'utilisateur, par exemple, en refroidissant une partie de la main que l'utilisateur ne souhaite pas découvrir. D'autre part, une fermeture à glissière est relativement rigide.
