The present invention relates to a method for managing the kinematics of a vehicle. More particularly, the invention relates to a method of modifying a steering angle of a vehicle according to the kinematic conditions of the latter. The invention is particularly applicable to the field of motor vehicles. The steering angle corresponds to an angle formed by the steering wheels of a vehicle relative to a main axis of said vehicle. This angle is modifiable by the driver of the vehicle, via the steering wheel, in particular to turn the vehicle to the left or right. Depending on the weather conditions, the state of the road and / or the vehicle, negotiating a turn may present risks. For example, a tight turn can cause the vehicle to overturn due to centrifugal force. Similarly, if a driver suddenly brakes at the entrance of the turn, the rear wheels are relieved of a portion of the weight of the vehicle, which can cause a skittlet type "head to tail". This type of risk is notably increased when rainy weather reduces the grip of the wheels. To ensure the safety of the driver, it may be advisable to reduce the maximum allowed steering angle, in cases where the taking of a sharp turn is linked to a significant risk of accidents. The state of the art comprises numerous systems for managing the kinematics of vehicles, such as brake assist systems, of ABS type (Antiblockiersystem), or trajectory correction systems, of ESP type (Electronic Stability Program). ). These systems include on-board computers that are able, via digital models, to predict the behavior of a vehicle from information delivered by different sensors. The present invention uses this type of system to adapt the maximum allowed steering angle to the kinematic conditions of the vehicle. More particularly, the subject of the present invention is a method for managing the kinematics of a vehicle, the vehicle comprising at least: a flywheel secured to a steering column; a steering axle disposed along an axis and connected to two steering wheels of the vehicle; a steering box connecting the steering column and the steering axle; said housing being provided with means for transforming a rotational movement of the steering wheel in translation movement of the steering column along the axis of the steering axle; said method being characterized in that it comprises the following steps: estimation of parameters on the dynamics of the vehicle; according to these parameters, determining an authorized zone of translation displacement of the steering column along the axis of the steering axle; positioning on the steering axle of at least one displacement limiting means at at least one end of said authorized zone. Preferably, estimated parameters are chosen from a wheel speed, an accelerator pedal angle, a state of the vehicle braking system, a vehicle height.
The present invention also relates to a device for managing the kinematics of a vehicle, the vehicle comprising at least: a steering wheel integral with a steering column; a steering axle disposed along an axis and connected to two steering wheels of the vehicle; a steering box connecting the steering column and the steering axle; said housing being provided with means for transforming a rotational movement of the steering wheel in translation movement of the steering column along the axis of the steering axle; said device being characterized in that it comprises means for implementing a method as described above. Preferably, the means for transforming a rotational movement of the steering wheel in translation movement of the steering column comprise a pinion and a rack, and such that a means for limiting the displacement in translation of the steering column comprises a stop located on said rack. Preferably, a means for limiting displacement in translation of the steering column comprises two stops located on the rack on either side of the pinion. The present invention also relates to a vehicle equipped with a device as described above. The invention will be better understood on reading the description which follows and on examining the figures which accompany it. These are presented only as an indication and in no way limitative of the invention. The figures show: FIG. 1: a schematic representation of a vehicle equipped with means for implementing a method according to the invention; - Figure 2: a schematic representation of a portion of the vehicle of Figure 1; - Figure 3: a schematic representation of a device comprising means for implementing a method according to the invention. FIG. 1 represents a view from above of a vehicle 10 equipped with means for implementing a method according to the invention. The vehicle 10 is a motor vehicle which extends along a main axis 11, substantially horizontal. The vehicle 10 comprises in particular a front axle connected to front wheels 12, and a rear axle connected to rear wheels 13. In the example shown in FIG. 1, the front wheels 12 are the steering wheels of the vehicle 10. An angle of the wheels 12 relative to the axis 11 can be controlled by a driver of the vehicle 10, by means of a steering wheel 14. In the example shown in Figure 1, the wheels 12 are parallel to the axis 11 which allows the vehicle 10 to move in a straight line. In the case of a left turn, the driver can turn the wheels 12 by a maximum angle of rotation αMAx with respect to the axis 11. Likewise, in the case of a right turn, the driver can turn the wheels 12 a maximum angle RMAx with respect to the axis 11. The angles aMAx and RMAx correspond to the two limits of rotation of the steering wheel 14. FIG. 2 represents a schematic view, from above, of a steering system of the vehicle 10. steering system comprises the steering wheel 14 secured to a steering column 16. The system 15 further comprises a steering axle 17 disposed along an axis 18. Each end of the axle 17 is connected to a steering wheel 12 of the vehicle 10. The system 15 further comprises a steering box 19, connecting the column 16 steering and steering axle 17. Said housing 19 is provided with means for transforming a rotational movement of the flywheel 14 in translation movement of the steering column 16 along the axis 18 of the steering axle 17. In the example shown in Figure 2, the housing 19 comprises a pinion 20 located at one end, opposite the flywheel 14, the column 16. The pinion 20 moves on a rack 21 secured to the axle 17 and s' extending along the axis 18. However, other motion transmission systems known from the state of the art can be used in the context of the invention. The displacement of the pinion 20 on the rack 21, along the axis 18, makes it possible to rotate the axis of the wheels 12 by means of rods 22, each of said rods connecting a wheel 12 and an end of the axle 17. In FIG. the example shown in Figure 2, the pinion 20 is in a position such that the wheels 12 are parallel to the axis 11 of the vehicle 10, as shown in Figure 1.
On either side of the pinion 20 are stops (23, 24) mounted on the rack 21. The stops (23, 24) limit the displacement of the pinion 20 on said rack 21. When the pinion 20 moves in the direction of the first stop 23, the wheels 12 pivot to the left relative to the axis 11. When the pinion 20 comes into contact with the stop 23, the wheels 12 form an angle OEMAx with said axis 11. Similarly, when the pinion 20 moves towards the second stop 24, the wheels 12 pivot to the right relative to the axis 11. When the pinion 20 comes into contact with the stop 24, the wheels 12 form an angle RMAX with said axis 11 The vehicle 10 (see FIG. 1) can be equipped with different sensors (25, 26, 27), which can be part of an ABS system and / or an ESP system which would also be equipped with the vehicle 10. wheels (12, 13) is for example equipped with a speed sensor 25 of said wheel. An angle sensor 26 may be located on an accelerator pedal of the vehicle 10, such a sensor for defining whether or not the vehicle is in the acceleration phase. Similarly, a sensor 27 may be located on a vehicle braking system 10 to determine if the vehicle is braking. Another sensor can also be used to measure the total height of the vehicle, which makes it possible to estimate the loading mass. A humidity sensor, for example incorporated into a windshield wiper system, may also give an indication of the presence of rain in the vehicle environment. FIG. 3 shows a device comprising means for implementing the method according to the invention. This device is intended to equip a vehicle, such as the vehicle 10. This device 30 comprises sensors (25, 26, 27) such as the sensors mentioned above. The sensors (25, 26, 27) are connected to a device 31 for controlling the vehicle 10. The sensors are for example connected to the device 31 via a bus 32. The device 31 may comprise a microprocessor 33, connected by a bus 34 with a program memory 35, a data memory 36, an interface 37 for communication with the sensors (25, 26, 27) and an interface 38 for communication with the stops (23, 24) of the vehicle 10. For this purpose , the memory 35 stores a program 40. This program 40 allows the processing of the data transmitted by the sensors (25, 26, 27), the comparison with values stored in the data memory 36 and the transmission of an appropriate response to the stops (23, 24), via the interface 38. In a first step of the program 40, each sensor 25, 26 and 27 transmits a measured value to the control device 31. In a second step of the program 40, the device 31 calculates steering angles OESECU and RSECU, as a function of the values measured by the sensors (25, 26, 27). The calculation is made from mathematical models stored in the memory 35. The OESECU angle represents the maximum steering angle to turn left without the risk of overturning and / or skidding. Similarly, the angle RsECU represents the maximum steering angle to turn right without risk of overturning and / or skidding. According to a form of the invention, a single OESECU angle calculation is performed, it being understood that the calculated angle applies to both the left turn and the right turn. However, in cases such as an imbalance of the vehicle load between left and right, it is better to independently determine OESECU and PSECU. Thus, the program 40 determines OESECU and RSECU values as a function of parameters such as the speed of the wheels, the state of acceleration / deceleration and / or braking of the vehicle, the height and / or the mass of the load of the vehicle and possibly the presence of moisture on the roadway. In a third step of the program 40, the device 31 transmits a setpoint to the stops (23, 24). The stops are provided with means for moving and locking along the rack 21. At each calculated asECU angle value corresponds a distance 41 between the stop 23 and the position of the pinion 20 when the wheels 12 are parallel to the axis 11 of the vehicle 10. Similarly, at each angle value RsEcu calculated corresponds a distance 42 between the stop 24 and the position of the pinion 20 when the wheels 12 are parallel to the axis 11. The stops (23, 24) are then move on the rack 21, along the axis 18, according to the instructions of the device 31. When said stops have reached the position determined by said instructions, the locking means along the rack 21 are activated.
The maximum steering angles left and right are then fixed by the position of said stops (23, 24). According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, a device 30 as shown in FIG. 3 is integrated in an ABS device or in an ESP device which is also equipped with the vehicle 10.
