Abstract

The invention relates primarily to a wheel folding device suitable for an omnidirectional carriage for loading freight, which is essentially characterized in that at least the front wheel (6, 7) or the rear wheel (8, 9) is a wheel of the omnidirectional type having rollers, and in that it comprises means (15, 16) for pivoting the front wheels (6, 7) and rear wheels (8, 9) about a pivot axis (R3, R4) integral with the carriage, the pivot axis (R3, R4) of an omnidirectional wheel having rollers (6, 7) in relation to the carriage being parallel to the main axis of forward motion (XX') of said carriage. The invention also relates to a carriage for loading freight, comprising such a folding device.
