Abstract
Description
The invention relates to flywheels which are intended to allow control of the movements of a manoeuvrable system. As known to those skilled in the art, certain systems, such as certain vehicles, possibly of the automotive type, comprise a steering wheel comprising an armature (possibly metallic) of which at the Zo minus a peripheral portion is provided with a trim, possibly wrapped in an outer covering (eg leather laced or sewn). The lining (also called "foaming") is made of a synthetic material that is molded onto the frame. The synthetic material is generally a polyurethane (or PU), or thermoplastic elastomer (or TPE), or expanded polypropylene (or EPP). The main disadvantage of this type of steering wheel is the difficulty in recycling the reinforcement following the molding of the trim. Indeed, the polyurethane strongly adhering to the frame and being quite polluting and difficult to recycle, it is necessary to grind the frame with its lining, which prohibits not only the reuse of the latter, but also the recovery of the material constituting the armature. Similarly, a thermoplastic elastomer has disadvantages substantially similar to those presented by the polyurethane because it is dense and compact. Finally, expanded polypropylene can be fairly easily recycled by burning or grinding. But, since it is molded on the frame, its burning or grinding can be conceived only if it is burned or ground together with the reinforcement it envelops, which prohibits at least the reuse of this material. last. The invention aims to improve the situation in particular to facilitate the recycling of steering wheel frames. It proposes for this purpose a steering wheel, intended to control the movements of a system (such as for example a vehicle, possibly of automobile type), and comprising: - a frame having a peripheral portion encapsulated with a wrapping lining, and - at minus a strong bead implanted in a manner masked by the liner in the vicinity of at least a portion of the peripheral portion of the frame, and adapted to be locally separated from the liner so that it can be pulled to cut the latter for of its separation from the frame. The flywheel according to the invention may comprise other features which may be taken separately or in combination, and in particular: its frame may comprise in at least one selected location of its peripheral part an opening at which its cord passes and its own to allow local separation of the bead of the liner by depressing the latter; each opening may be arranged so as to allow the passage of one end of a punch; each opening may be defined at the level of a connection between a rounded part of the peripheral part of the armature and a branch; - its cord may be embedded in the lining; its cord can be implanted in a groove which is defined in the peripheral part of the armature; its cord can be implanted in all the peripheral part of the armature; its cord may be made of a material which is chosen from (at least) a metal, a synthetic material and a natural material (for example hemp fibers); its reinforcement can be made of a metallic material; the metallic material may comprise magnesium; the metallic material may be entirely magnesium; - Its lining may be made of a synthetic material which has a low adhesion on its frame; the synthetic material may be expanded polypropylene (or EPP).

The attached drawings may not only serve to complete the invention, but also contribute to its definition, if any. The invention aims to provide a steering wheel (V) for controlling the movements of a manoeuvrable system. In what follows, it is considered, by way of non-limiting example, that the 3o system is a motor vehicle, such as a car. But, the invention is not limited to this type of system. It concerns indeed any type of system operable by means of a steering wheel, including vehicles, possibly automotive type. FIGS. 1 and 2 show schematically a part of an exemplary embodiment of a steering wheel V according to the invention. As illustrated without limitation, the steering wheel V includes an AM frame, a packing (or foaming) wrapping (e) GA and a CD cord. The armature AM comprises a peripheral portion PP which here comprises a rounded portion PA connected to a central portion PC by a plurality of branches BR and intended to be gripped and driven in rotation by the hands of a driver. Note that in the non-limiting example shown the armature AM comprises four branches BR. But, it could have more or less than four branches (actually at least one). The central part PC is intended to be connected to the steering column. In the case of a motor vehicle, it can be equipped with a lower cover (or rear), a set of air bag self inflating (or "air bag"), and a cover or top cover (or before) intended, in particular, to hide the aforementioned set. Note that in the non-limiting example illustrated the peripheral portion PP of the armature AM has an annular shape (here oval).
It is closed. But, this is not mandatory. It could indeed consist of at least two independent sub-parts (possibly rounded) and each connected to the central portion PC. Furthermore, this AM frame can be made of a metallic material. By way of example, it is possible to use a metallic material comprising magnesium, either partially (for example in an aluminum / magnesium alloy) or exclusively. Note that in a variant, the AM frame could be made of a synthetic material or rigid plastic. The (enveloping) gasket GA is preferably made of a synthetic material which is molded on the armature AM, and in particular on its peripheral part PP (as well as possibly on a part of its branches BR). This synthetic material may be, for example, expanded polypropylene (or EPP). This material is quite advantageous because not only does it adhere less to a metal frame (in particular based on magnesium), but it is quite easily recyclable and relatively non-polluting. But, one could use other types of synthetic material, especially low density, such as a thermoplastic elastomer (or TPE). Moreover, and as illustrated in the embodiment variant of FIG. 3, the packing GA may optionally be wrapped in an outer covering RE, such as for example (and not limited to) leather or polyurethane (PU) or an elastomer thermoplastic (TPE).
As illustrated, this outer coating RE may for example be tightly attached to the gasket GA by seam (CT) or lacing. Note that in the non-limiting example shown, the steering wheel V includes only one CD cord. But, it could include several installed in several areas (preferably without overlap) of the peripheral portion PP of its armature AM. The CD cord must be strong. To do this, it may for example be made of a metallic material (such as for example steel) or a synthetic material (such as nylon) or in a natural material, such as for example hemp fibers.
As best illustrated in Figures 2 to 6, the CD cord is maskedly implanted by the gasket GA in the vicinity of at least a portion of the peripheral portion PP. Here, the term "neighborhood" means being placed on one side of the peripheral portion PP of the armature AM, or close to such a face.
Thus, in the nonlimiting example illustrated in FIGS. 1, 2, 3 and 6, the cord CD is housed in a groove (or groove) GO which is defined on a front (or upper) face of the peripheral portion PP of the AM frame. But, the AM frame might not have such a gorge. Note that in the non-limiting example illustrated in Figure 1, the CD cord extends over the entire peripheral portion PP. But, it could only extend over a greater or lesser portion of this peripheral portion PP. Moreover, in the nonlimiting example illustrated in FIG. 1, the cord CD constitutes a closed loop. But, it could constitute an open loop (that is to say a loop having two adjacent ends but not secured to one another). It is important to note that the CD cord is placed on one side of the peripheral portion PP of the AM armature before the GA trim is molded. Therefore, once the molding is completed, the CD cord may be partially or completely embedded (or integrated) in the GA liner (in the vicinity of the peripheral portion PP of the AM frame), as illustrated in FIGS. 6. But in a variant it could be pressed against a face of the peripheral portion PP of the armature AM and thus interposed between this face and the gasket GA. Note that to keep the CD cord in a position (quasi-final) relative to the AM frame during the molding phase, it is possible to use pieces of adhesive tape (possibly double-sided type).
Once the CD cord is masked by the gasket GA in the vicinity of at least a portion of the peripheral portion PP, it is adapted to be locally separated from this gasket GA in order to be pulled. It will be understood that this draw (directed outwardly of the gasket GA) is intended to cut the gasket GA (at least locally (ZC)) so that it can be detached from the armature AM, as illustrated in FIG. 6 The CD cord is therefore a kind of disengaging tab. The diameter of the CD cord is preferably (very) small in order to facilitate cutting. Note that when the cord CD does not extend over the entire peripheral portion PP, its pull causes a cut of a portion ZC of the gasket GA, and one must cut or tear the uncut part remaining either with a tool or manually (in force). Once the uncoupling is complete, the GA liner and the AM frame can be recycled independently of one another. Specifically, the AM frame can be reused or melted so that the material that constitutes it can be reused, possibly to make a new AM frame. In order to facilitate the pulling of the CD cord, which is masked by the gasket GA, it is advantageous, as shown non-limitatively in FIGS. 1, 4 and 5, that the armature AM comprises in at least one selected location of its peripheral portion. PP an OV opening at which the CD cord passes. Each OV opening is adapted to allow the local separation of the CD cord of the gasket GA, by depression of the latter (GA). Such depression may for example be obtained by means of a punch PO, as shown in Figures 4 and 5. In this case, each opening OV must be arranged to allow the passage of one end of the punch PO. It will be understood that by translating along the arrow F a punch 1 o PO placed above (or below) an opening OV, it repels the portion of PGA seal located at this opening OV and the At the same time, a corresponding part of the cord CD is driven, as illustrated in FIG. 5. This portion of PGA gasket is finally torn off from the rest of the gasket GA, which makes part of the CD cord accessible and therefore makes it possible to fire on it. to cut (or tear) the gasket GA, as shown in Figure 6. Note that in the non-limiting example shown in Figure 1, the armature AM comprises four openings 0V. But, it could have more or fewer than four openings.
It will also be noted that in the nonlimiting example illustrated in FIG. 1, each opening OV is defined at the level of a connection between the rounded portion PA of the peripheral portion PP of the armature AM and a branch BR, and the CD cord has a folded portion PR (here in the general form of V or U) to increase the area to enter it.
However, in a variant, each OV opening could be defined at the rounded portion PA of the peripheral portion PP of the AM frame. The invention is not limited to the flywheel and system embodiments described above, by way of example only, but encompasses all of the variations that can be contemplated by those skilled in the art within the scope of the claims. below.
