Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an interior piece of equipment for a motor vehicle, of the type comprising: at least one body delimiting a surface of appearance intended to be placed in the passenger compartment; a motor vehicle; - a luminous strip fixed in the body on the surface of appearance. The part according to the invention is intended for example to form a seat, a dashboard, an interior panel door or floor panel, an armrest, or a motor vehicle component. To improve the aesthetic appearance of the passenger compartment of motor vehicles, it is known to report, on parts of interior equipment, rigid light diffusion bars made for example of PMMA or PC also called Plexiglas. These rigid bars are connected to at least one light emitting diode to diffuse the light produced by the diode. For this purpose, the rigid bars are fixed by snapping on the part of a motor vehicle. However, given the safety constraints in the event of an accident, it is necessary to place these rigid bars of light diffusion out of the impactable zones by a vehicle occupant during an impact. The lighting produced by the bars must therefore be diffused indirectly on the surfaces of appearance to be illuminated, which is not always very aesthetic. An object of the invention is therefore to obtain a piece of automotive interior equipment of aesthetic appearance improved by lighting, which does not present a substantial risk for an occupant of the motor vehicle in case of accident. For this purpose, the subject of the invention is an interior piece of equipment for a motor vehicle as defined above, characterized in that the light strip is flexible, the part comprising a flexible translucent sheath delimiting an inner housing substantially receiving the the entire light strip, the sheath having at least one fixing blank of the light strip reported in the body.
In all that follows, the orientations are the usual orientations of a motor vehicle. Thus the terms upper, lower, upper, lower, left, right, front, rear are understood in relation to the normal direction of movement of the motor vehicle and the position of a driver.
A first piece 10 of interior equipment of a motor vehicle according to the invention is shown in Figures 1 to 3. This piece 10 is in the example shown, a door panel of a motor vehicle. Alternatively, this part is a dashboard of a motor vehicle, a vehicle seat or a floor of the vehicle, an armrest or a windshield flap. As illustrated by FIGS. 1 and 3, the part 10 comprises a body 12 having an aspect surface 14 intended to be placed in the passenger compartment of the vehicle to be visible by an occupant of the motor vehicle, and an illumination assembly 16 reported in the body 12 on the surface of appearance 14. The body 12 comprises an upper portion 18 and a lower portion 20 attached to one another and defining between them, at their junction, a horizontal slot 22. In the the example shown in Figure 3, the upper portion 18 and the lower portion 20 each have an inner core 24A, 24B on which is reported an outer layer of appearance 26A, 26B defining reliefs 28 at least in the vicinity of all 16. The core 24A of the upper portion 18 has a lower rim 30, which protrudes away from the layer 26 towards the interior of the piece 10, and the core 24B of the lower part 20. presents a upper flange 32 which protrudes inward facing the upper flange 30. The outer layers 26A, 26B are for example formed from textured textile with a succession of holes and bumps of amplitude greater than one millimeter. The layers 26A, 26B each partially delimit the appearance surface 14 of the part. Alternatively, the outer layers 26A, 26B are formed of injected plastic, plastic skin, in particular by heat-sealing, or leather. The flanges 30, 32 delimit between them the slot 22 which opens into the surface of appearance 14 of the part 10.
According to the invention, the illumination assembly 16 comprises a flexible light strip 40, a sheath 42 for holding the light strip 40 on the body 12 and means 44 for activating the strip 40, visible in FIG. 1.
According to the invention, the light strip 40 is made of a flexible material in the form of a bead, able to deform under the effect of its own weight and lack of own autonomous behavior. Thus, if the headband 40 is fixed horizontally by its ends without being stretched or retained between its ends, it curves spontaneously downwards under the effect of its own weight. Such a strip 40 is in the example shown in Figures 1 to 3 made based on a flexible polyurethane light guide marketed by the American company 3M. The strip 40 is provided at its ends with two light-emitting diodes 46 which create light, which is guided by the material constituting the light guide. Thus, the strip 40 illuminates over substantially its entire length when the diodes 46 are activated. The holding sheath 42 is made in one piece using a textile sheet or plastic flexible and thin folded on itself. Thus, the sheet forming the sheath 42 has a thickness, taken in section along a transverse longitudinal plane, less than 0.4 times the thickness of the strip of light 40 cut in the same plane. The textile or plastic sheet forming the sheath is made of a translucent or at least partially transparent material substantially passing light emitted by the strip 40. The sheath 42 thus comprises a cylindrical sleeve 50 for receiving the light strip 40 and a flan 52 for fixing the sheath in the slot 22. The cylindrical sleeve 50 internally delimits a housing 54 for receiving the light strip, of dimensions complementary to those of the strip 42. Thus, the cylindrical sleeve 50 covers the strip 40 over its entire length. and on all its periphery. The blank 52 is formed by two longitudinal edges 56 of the sheet applied to one another. The blank 52 is fixed on one and / or the other of the upper part 18 and the lower part 20 of the body 12 between the flanges 30, 32, in the slot 22. The blank 52 extends over the entire length of the sleeve 50. The blank 52 fixes the sheath 42 on the body 12 by printing the sleeve 50 and the light strip 40 a conformation which follows the contour of the slot 22 between the upper portion 18 and the lower portion 20. Thus, the sleeve 50 holds the strip 40 in this conformation against the weight thereof. The blank 52 is fixed on the upper part 18 and / or the lower part 20 by gluing, welding or stitching.
The activation means 44 comprise power sources for the diodes 46 of the strip 40. The mounting of the first piece of automotive equipment 10 according to the invention will now be described. Initially, the holding sheath 42 is formed by folding a textile or plastic sheet on itself to fold its longitudinal edges 56 against each other. This forms, on the one hand, the cylindrical sleeve 50, and on the other hand, the fixing blank 52. Then, the light strip 40 is introduced inside the housing 54, defined by the sleeve 50, and the sleeve 50. is closed to close housing 54.
Then, the upper part 18 and the lower part 20 of the body 12 of the part 10 are assembled one on the other. During this assembly, the blank 52 is introduced between the upper flange 32 and the lower flange 30 and is fixed on one and / or the other of these flanges 30, 32 by gluing, welding, or stitching. The blank 52 then conforms to the shape of the slot 22 and prints this shape to the sleeve 50 and the light strip 40. The illumination assembly 16 then closes the slot 22 on the surface of appearance 14, which improves the appearance aesthetic exterior of the room. Then, the activation means 44 are electrically connected to the diodes 46 of the light strip 40.
In operation, when the activation means 44 electrically feed the diodes 46, the strip 40 illuminates over its entire length and diffuses the light through the retaining sheath 42 directly into the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle, the holding sheath 42 being backlit. Alternatively, the strip 40 is formed by a flexible electroluminescent wire.
The wire comprises a central core capable of constituting a light source extending over the entire length of the strip 40 when it is electrically powered by the activation means 44. The wire further comprises and an outer annular diffusion jacket. the light extending around the central soul. The illumination assembly 16 being entirely flexible, it can be placed on an appearance surface 14 of the part 10 in the passenger compartment of the vehicle to be directly visible by an occupant of the vehicle. Thus, the strip 40 can be used in direct lighting of the passenger compartment and not in indirect lighting. The aesthetic aspect of the room is improved. However, given the flexibility of the strip 10 and the sheath 42, this placement is safe in an impact caused by an accident in the vehicle.
In addition, when the piece 10 has a texture and reliefs 28 in the vicinity of the strip 40, the light effect produced by the strip 40 is amplified by the light penetrating the reliefs 28. The invention also allows standardization of the piece of interior equipment of a motor vehicle according to the chosen version of the vehicle. It thus makes it possible to create a series of first pieces 10 as described in FIGS. 1 to 3 and a series of second pieces comprising a body 12 of identical structure to that of the body 12 of each first piece 10, but devoid of a set of parts. 16. For each second piece, the slot 22 then freely opens into the surface of appearance 14. In a variant, the second piece comprises a holding sheath 42 receiving an opaque core of the same size as the light strip 40 but not illuminating. Thus, the possible addition of the illumination assembly 16 does not require to specifically arrange the structure of the slot 22, since the blank 52 of the sheath 42 is placed in a game already present between the upper portion 18 and the lower part 20 of the body 12.
