Abstract

The invention relates to an anti-skid stud for a vehicle tyre, comprising a sheath (1) with a longitudinal axis of symmetry (x, x') having an anchoring leg (4) not screwed into the tyre and, opposite the anchoring leg, a head (3) from which projects an insert (2) made of a very hard material, the anchoring leg (4) not comprising a screw thread and having a circular cross-section that is larger than the cross-section of the sheath (1). According to the invention, the cross-section of the sheath (1) is constantly polygonal and convex from the head (3) thereof to the anchoring leg (4) thereof, defining a series of planar faces (6) extending next to one another and connected two-by-two by mutually parallel seams (7).
