The invention relates to the depollution of exhaust gas, and in particular the depollution of exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine. [0002] The exhaust gases of the internal combustion engines fitted to most motor vehicles contain a number of pollutants which it is desirable to reduce the discharges into the atmosphere (in particular nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbons and particulates). The regulations applicable to pollution by motor vehicles regularly lower the limits of acceptable discharges. A large part of the pollutants generated by an internal combustion engine is due to incomplete combustion of the fuel. A first strategy to reduce pollutant emissions is to reduce the amount of pollutants entering the exhaust system. A second strategy for reducing pollutant emissions is to carry out a post-treatment of gases passing through the exhaust line. To achieve a post-treatment, most vehicles are now equipped with a catalytic converter comprising an oxidation catalyst (for oxidizing carbon monoxide and unburned hydrocarbons) and a reduction catalyst (to reduce the oxides nitrogen to non-harmful molecules). The oxidation catalyst is disposed in a housing mounted in the exhaust line. The housing encloses a support or substrate coated with an active material. The substrate generally consists of a monolithic ceramic honeycomb body forming channels to be traversed by the exhaust gas. The main components of the body are usually alumina or alumino-silicates doped with zirconia (cordierite, mullite, mullite-zirconia). The coating of active materials may be composed of combined precious metals such as platinum, palladium or rhodium. The reduction catalyst is disposed downstream of the oxidation catalyst in the flow of the exhaust gas, because the oxidation catalyst oxidizes the nitric oxide to nitrogen dioxide. The reduction catalyst is frequently constituted by a porous support coated with a zeolite layer. In order to minimize nitrogen oxide emissions, a process called SCR (for Selective Catalyst Reduction in English) is implemented. Such a process consists of injecting, upstream of the reduction catalyst, a reducing product into the exhaust gas. It is in particular known to perform the injection of an aqueous solution of urea (NH 3 ammonia precursor products) or the injection of ammonia gas into the exhaust gas. [0008] The SCR type processes require a relatively high reduction catalyst temperature (at least greater than 100 ° C.) in order for the reduction efficiency of the nitrogen oxides to be optimal. Thus, to promote a rapid depollution after starting the internal combustion engine, for example for vehicles used in urban areas, some vehicles comprise a housing including the oxidation catalyst and the reduction catalyst, this housing being disposed in the flow exhaust gases near the engine. Since the heat loss of the exhaust gas is reduced before reaching the housing, the temperature rise of the reduction catalyst is faster. To achieve a SCR type process, the housing comprises a mixing chamber traversed by the exhaust gas and wherein the reducing product is injected. The mixing chamber is interposed between the oxidation catalyst and the reduction catalyst. The use of a housing near the engine promotes a rapid depollution and a reduction in fuel consumption. However, the volume available in the engine compartment is constantly reduced. The size of the casing containing the catalysts must therefore be reduced to the maximum, often to the detriment of the quality of the mixture between the reducing product and the exhaust gases. When the mixture reaching the inlet of the reduction catalyst is less homogeneous, its reduction yield of nitrogen oxides is lowered. Moreover, the reducing product can not be injected upstream of the oxidation catalyst without generating a large amount of nitrogen oxides. In practice, the injection of an aqueous solution of urea has been promoted industrially. Indeed, feeding the urea injection circuit at the engine compartment is relatively easy by implanting a compact urea reservoir. The urea injection, however, requires a series of rather long sequential physicochemical processes: first, the injection of the aqueous solution of urea, the atomization of the urea jet into drops and then into droplets; evaporation and chemical decomposition of these droplets into ammonia gas and finally the mixture of ammonia gas with the exhaust gas. In the volume available in the engine compartment, these physico-chemical processes are carried out in a reduced volume, in which the homogenization of the injected urea proves to be unsatisfactory. The solutions of injecting ammonia in gaseous form into the mixing chamber have been developed but are not entirely satisfactory with regard to the homogenization of the ammonia in the exhaust gas. The invention aims to solve one or more of these disadvantages. The invention thus relates to a mixing chamber of a reducing product to exhaust gas, comprising: [0014] a device for injecting a reducing product; A perforated wall separating the mixing chamber into first and second zones, the first zone being disposed upstream of the second zone, the injection device of the reducing agent being configured to inject reducing agent into the first zone; . The perforated wall has a central portion forming a return towards the upstream of the flow of the exhaust gas and the injection device injects the reducing product at the periphery of the first zone. According to a variant, the injection device comprises a plurality of injectors opening at the periphery of the first zone. According to another variant, the injectors are angularly distributed around the first zone. According to another variant, the injection device injects the reducing product downstream of the upstream end of the median portion of the wall. According to yet another variant, the periphery of the wall is free of perforations. Alternatively, the wall has an orifice in its middle portion having a section greater than the section of each of its perforations. In another variant, the wall has a portion of conical or frustoconical shape. According to another variant, the wall has a peripheral portion fixed to an exhaust gas guide duct delimiting the first and second zones, and the median portion of the wall is disposed upstream of the peripheral portion to form a exhaust gas holding bag. The invention also relates to a catalytic converter comprising: [0025] a mixing chamber as described above; [0026] a reduction catalyst; [0027] an oxidation catalyst; A housing in which are housed the reduction catalyst, the oxidation catalyst and the mixing chamber. The invention further relates to a vehicle comprising an internal combustion engine and a catalytic converter as described above, the vehicle having a motor compartment in which the internal combustion engine and the catalytic converter are housed. Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the description which is given below, for information only and not limiting, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: • Figure 1 is a view of schematic top of a vehicle at its engine compartment; FIG. 2 is a partial sectional view of an internal combustion engine equipped with a close-coupled catalytic converter; Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view of the catalytic converter at a reducing agent mixing chamber; FIG. 4 is an axial sectional view of the catalytic converter of FIG. 3; FIG. 5 is an enlarged sectional view of the mixing chamber illustrating gaseous flows. The invention provides a mixing chamber disposed in the exhaust gas flow, typically upstream of the reduction catalyst. The reduction chamber is intended to receive a reducing product, such as gaseous ammonia. The mixing chamber has an injection zone and a homogenization zone separated by a perforated wall, the homogenization zone being disposed downstream of the injection zone. The wall has a middle part forming a return towards the upstream flow of the exhaust gases and an injection device injects the reducing product at the periphery of the injection zone. The wall forms a reservoir for the reducing product introduced into the injection zone. The invention thus makes it possible to achieve optimum mixing between the exhaust gases and the reducing product in the injection zone. The mixture of the exhaust gas with the reducing agent is then particularly homogeneous when it reaches the reduction catalyst. An optimization of the homogeneity of the mixture makes it possible to use engine settings increasing its combustion efficiency and reducing its consumption. Thus, the engine will be able to generate exhaust gases at a higher temperature and containing more nitrogen oxides, which will be offset by the improved efficiency of the reduction catalyst. This mixture also does not require a large mixing chamber, which is favorable to the optimization of space in the engine compartment. The invention is therefore particularly advantageous for a catalytic converter of the close coupling type (designated by `close coupled 'in English). Figure 1 is a schematic view from above of a motor vehicle 1. The vehicle 1 comprises in its front part a motor compartment 50 placed between wheel passages 13. An internal combustion engine 10 is housed in the compartment motor 50. The engine 10 has combustion chambers opening into an exhaust manifold 11. The exhaust manifold 11 is connected to a catalytic converter 20. The catalytic converter 20 is placed in the engine compartment 50, and is therefore located close to the engine 10. The catalytic converter 20 is therefore of the close coupling type of the engine. The catalytic converter 20 comprises an oxidation catalyst 201, a mixing chamber 221 and a reduction catalyst 251, arranged in this order from upstream to downstream in the flow of the exhaust gas. The reduction catalyst 251 opens onto an exhaust manifold 12. The reduction catalyst 251 can be specifically designed to implement an SCR process. In the illustrated example, the exhaust manifold 12 opens into a particulate filter 281 at the rear end of the vehicle 1. According to one variant of the device, the catalytic converter 20 may also comprise an oxidation catalyst. 201, a mixing chamber 221, a nitrogen oxide reduction catalyst 251 and a particulate filter 281, the last two grouped on a brick, arranged in this order from upstream downstream in the gas flow of exhaust. The manifold of the exhaust manifold 11 opens into the catalytic converter 20. The catalytic converter 20 then opens into the exhaust manifold 12. The illustrated engine 10 is a diesel type engine. The oxidation catalyst 201 is in this case a diesel oxidation catalyst.
The invention naturally also applies to a spark ignition engine. Figure 2 is a partial sectional view of the combustion engine 10 associated with the catalytic converter 20. The engine 10 comprises a structure known per se and will not be detailed further. As illustrated in FIG. 2, the catalytic converter 20 is of the close coupling type of the engine, which favors its rate of rise in temperature and the reduction in fuel consumption. The catalytic converter 20 can thus be housed in the engine compartment 50. [0037] The catalytic converter 20 has gaseous ammonia injectors 30 forming an injection device in the mixing chamber 221.
These injectors 30 are controlled by a control circuit 40 and supplied with ammonia gas by a circuit not shown. Figures 3 and 4 are sectional views of a catalytic converter at a mixing chamber 221 according to one embodiment of the invention. The mixing chamber 221 advantageously has a circular cross section. The mixing chamber 221 includes an injection zone 227 in communication with the oxidation catalyst 201 to receive the exhaust gas therein. The mixing chamber 221 furthermore comprises a homogenization zone 228 in communication with the reduction catalyst 251 in order to supply it with the exhaust gases that have passed through the mixing chamber 221. The homogenization zone is thus placed downstream of the mixing chamber 221. the injection zone with respect to the flow of the exhaust gas. The injection zone 227 and the homogenization zone 228 are separated by a perforated wall 230. The perforated wall 230 has perforations 225 at its middle portion 226. The median portion 226 forms a return towards the upstream exhaust gas flow. The injectors 30 are implanted in a conduit 222 and open out at the periphery of the injection zone 227. The injectors 30 are thus adapted to inject gaseous ammonia at the periphery of the injection zone 227. [0039] combination of a return formed by the median portion of the partition wall 230 and a peripheral injection of the gaseous ammonia optimizes the quality of the mixture between the gaseous ammonia and the exhaust gas before the exhaust gas n The return of the middle portion of the partition wall 230 forms a reservoir for the exhaust gas at the periphery of the injection zone 227, favoring the mixing of the ammonia. and the exhaust gases before their passage through the homogenization zone 228. Indeed, the contact time between the exhaust gas and the ammonia is then increased. Such a configuration makes it possible in particular to increase the turbulence at the injection zone 227. The median portion 226 is in this case placed upstream of the peripheral portion 224 which connects the wall 230 to the conduit 222. Thus, a pocket device is formed to retain the exhaust and optimize their mixture. The median portion 226 may, for example, be considered as extending over half of the cross-section of the wall 230. In the illustrated example, several injectors 30 are used, opening at the periphery of the injection zone so that to distribute the introduction of gaseous ammonia into the exhaust gas. Advantageously, the injectors are angularly distributed around the mixing chamber 221 to optimize mixing over the entire periphery of the injection zone 227. Advantageously, the injectors 30 inject gaseous ammonia downstream of the upstream end. the middle part 226 of the partition wall 230. Furthermore, the periphery 224 of the partition wall 230, by which the wall 230 is fixed to the conduit 222, is free of perforations. By such measures, it promotes an exhaust gas restraint in the periphery of the injection zone 227 and an optimal mixture of ammonia gas before the mixture reaches the homogenization zone 228. Once the mixture has reached the homogenization zone 228, the homogenization of the mixture between the exhaust gas and the ammonia gas continues before the exhaust gas reaches the reduction catalyst 251. illustrated example, the partition wall 230 has an orifice 229 in its middle portion 226, this orifice having a passage section greater than the section of each of the perforations 225. The orifice may for example have a section at least 10 times greater at the section of a perforation 225. This orifice 229 promotes a flow of exhaust gas to the homogenization zone with reduced pressure losses. The orifice 229 is advantageously surrounded by a shoulder formed in the middle portion 226, in order to increase the deflection of the flow of the exhaust gases. It can also be envisaged that the wall 230 extends to its geometric center and then has perforations in its median part to allow the flow of the exhaust gases. In practice, the exhaust gases can pass from the injection zone 227 to the homogenization zone 228 either via this orifice 229 or through the perforations 225 of the wall 230. [0043] The partition wall 230 shown advantageously has a frustoconical shape that can be easily achieved at lower cost. The wall 230 is disposed in the mixing chamber 221 so that the top of the frustoconical shape is located upstream of the partition wall 230. In order to promote optimum mixing of the exhaust gases with gaseous ammonia , the periphery of the mixing chamber is advantageously arranged in alignment with the periphery of the oxidation catalyst 201. Thus, the exhaust gas easily reaches the zone in which the ammonia gas is injected. The partition wall 230 is advantageously made of steel or any other material capable of withstanding the exhaust gas temperatures. Advantageously, the oxidation catalyst 201, the mixing chamber 221 and the reduction converter 251 are housed in the same housing in which the duct 222 is integrated. The overall size and the manufacturing cost of the catalytic converter 20 are then optimized. The mixing chamber 221 is delimited on both sides by the reduction catalyst 251 and by the oxidation catalyst 201. The mixing chamber 221 thus directly connects the reduction catalyst 251 and the oxidation catalyst 201. arrows illustrate the flow of the exhaust gas in the catalytic converter 20. The injection device may be provided to be supplied with ammonia gas or any other reducing product in the gas phase or liquid. The invention is of course not limited to the implementation of the mixing chamber described. The mixing chamber can thus be contiguous with a reduction catalyst remote from the engine, or with an exhaust line in which the oxidation catalyst is distant from the mixing chamber.
