Société Anonyme known as L'OREAL Device for packaging and dispensing a product, in particular a cosmetic product, comprising a dip tube. Invention of: Julien SICKERSEN Pascal BALZEAU Device for packaging and dispensing a product, in particular a cosmetic product, comprising a dip tube.
The present invention relates to the field of devices for packaging and dispensing a product, in particular a cosmetic product. "Cosmetic product" means a product as defined in Council Directive 93/35 / EEC of 14 June 1993. A particularly interesting use of the invention relates to the packaging and distribution of a perfume. In general, the invention may also be used for the distribution of another type of cosmetic product or not. By "packaging" is meant storage of the product in a device for transporting and preserving before opening the physicochemical structure of said product for a relatively long period, for example of the order of several months. Such packaging and dispensing devices conventionally comprise a product storage container provided with a neck on which is fixed a dispensing member. The container may be pressurized and contain a product packaged as an aerosol. In this case, the dispensing member comprises a valve on which is fixed a dip tube extending into the container for the supply of the product to the valve. Alternatively, the container may be at atmospheric pressure, the dispensing member then having a manual pump with air intake connected to the dip tube. The plunger forming the distribution duct makes it possible to ensure that product can be continuously withdrawn from the container in order to be dispensed. For this purpose, the lower end of the dip tube generally comes to bear or very close to the bottom of the container in order to be able to distribute all of the contained product. In the cosmetic field, the storage containers are generally made of transparent or translucent materials such as glass or plastic. The dip tube is visible from the outside, which can affect the aesthetics of the device, especially for luxury products such as perfume. To remedy this drawback, a dressing tube can be provided. Such a tube is attached to the dispenser member and surrounds the dip tube to mask it. The dressing tube may for example be colored and / or have on its outer surface geometric patterns or a logo. For more details on the packaging and dispensing devices comprising such dressing tubes, reference may be made, for example, to documents FR-A-2 776 627 and FR-A-2 877 324, or to US Patents 3,647,619, 3,658,215 or 4,475,667. During the manufacture of such a device, dimensional variations can exist not only between the different tubes manufactured but also on the thicknesses of the bottoms of the associated containers. When placing inside the container of the assembly formed by the dispensing member, the dip tube and the dressing tube, at least one of these two tubes can bear against the bottom of the container. If this tube is made of rigid material and if there are dispersions on the manufacturing tolerances of said tube and the thickness of the bottom of the container, the dispensing member may then be slightly shifted upwards with respect to the position allowing a good clogging of the neck of the container. Now, the dispensing member is then fixed on the neck, generally by crimping. During this operation, the poor positioning of the dispenser member may cause deformation of the neck, or even its burst. The present invention aims to overcome this disadvantage. More particularly, the present invention aims at providing a device for packaging and dispensing a product, in particular a cosmetic product, capable of ensuring a good relative positioning of the dispensing member and the associated storage container during its mounting. The present invention also aims to provide a device of simple and economical design. In one embodiment, the device for packaging and dispensing a product, in particular a cosmetic product, comprises a container for storing the product, a product dispensing member mounted on said container and comprising a body and a mouthpiece. connection, and a tube extending into the storage container and slidably mounted on the connection piece or on a distribution duct connected to said nozzle so as to allow the tube to be brought closer to the body of the dispensing member when placing said tube in the storage container. Advantageously, the tube comprises an open bottom end and bearing against a bottom of the storage container. Preferably, the tube is made of a rigid material so as to avoid bending of said tube during contact with the bottom of the container. In one embodiment, the device comprises a distribution conduit connected to the connection end of the dispensing member and extending into the storage container. The tube at least partially surrounds the distribution duct so as to form a covering. The tube and the distribution duct are two distinct elements. The device may also include a tube support sleeve mounted at least partly in the neck of the storage container. The support sleeve advantageously comprises a guide portion of the tube, said tube comprising retaining means adapted to cooperate with the guide portion to ensure its retention on the support sleeve and on the dispensing member. Preferably, the support sleeve comprises arms connecting the guide portion and a body of said sleeve, openings adapted to allow air circulation being formed circumferentially between the arms. The support sleeve may also include a flange for mounting the dispenser member. The support sleeve and the dispensing member advantageously form a means for plugging the neck of the storage container. In one embodiment, the tube is made of molded synthetic material or metal material. The present invention will be better understood on reading the detailed description of embodiments taken as non-limiting examples and illustrated by the appended drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a packaging device; and FIG. 4 is a detail view of FIG. 3. FIG. 5 is a sectional view of FIG. 1; FIG. 6 is a detailed view of FIG. 5; FIG. 7 is a sectional view along the axis VII-VII of FIG. 6; FIG. 8 is a sectional view of a packaging and dispensing device according to a second embodiment of the invention, FIG. 9 is a detailed view of FIG. 8, and FIGS. are sectional views of packaging and dispensing devices according to first and fourth embodiments of the invention. In Figures 1, 2, 3 and 5 there is shown a device for packaging and dispensing a product, designated by the general reference numeral 10, and shown in a supposed vertical position. In the application envisaged, the device 10 is intended for the packaging and dispensing of a cosmetic product, in particular a perfume. The device can of course be used for the packaging and distribution of other types of cosmetic products or not. The device 10 comprises a container 12 for storing the product, a dispensing member 14 attached to the container, a dispensing duct 16 fixed to the dispensing member 14 and extending into the container, a wrapping tube 18 surrounding said duct, and a sleeve 20 for supporting the assembly formed by the dispensing member 14, the dispensing duct 16, and the casing tube 18. The device 10 has a longitudinal axis X-X 'and a median plane of symmetry supposed vertical. The storage container 12 has a lower bottom end 22 and an upper end having an open neck 24 coinciding with the X-X 'axis. The neck 24 is separated from the peripheral wall of the container 12 by an annular shoulder 26. In the illustrated embodiment, the neck 24 has a generally frustoconical top end flaring outwardly and the container 12 has a generally cylindrical shape. Of course, any other form can be provided. The storage container 12 is advantageously made in one piece by molding, for example a mineral material such as a quartz glass or crystal, or a synthetic material such as a polyolefin, especially polypropylene. (PP) or polyethylene (PE). The dispenser member 14 is a conventional manual air pump having a pump body 28 on which is attached a connection piece 30 for mounting the distribution conduit 16. The opposite side to the endpiece , the pump body 28 is surmounted by a hollow emerging rod 32 for ensuring the actuation of the pump by depression and the outlet of the product to be dispensed. In this regard, a dispensing head 34 having a spray nozzle is mounted on the rod 32. The dispensing member 14 also has a cup 35 for attachment to the support sleeve 20.
In this embodiment, the product is conditioned at atmospheric pressure in the storage container 12. Alternatively, the product to be dispensed could be a pressurized gas, the dispensing member 14 then being in this case in the form of a valve on which the distribution duct 16 is attached. the shape of a dip tube centered on the axis XX 'and fixed in the nozzle 30 for connecting the body 28 of the dispenser member 14. The dispensing duct 16 extends into the storage container 12. I1 has an upper end 36 partially housed in the nozzle 30 and a lower end 38 located in the vicinity of the bottom 22 of the container 12 and through which the product contained in said container is sucked and introduced. The distribution duct 16 may for example be obtained cheaply by extrusion of a synthetic material. The cladding tube 18, with axis X-X ', is mounted on the connection end 30 of the dispensing member 14 and extends into the storage container 12 radially surrounding the distribution duct 16. As will be described in more detail below, the tube 18 is able to slide if necessary on the tip 30 of the dispensing member 14 during the introduction of the sleeve 20 in the neck 24 of the container. The casing tube 18 comprises a tubular body 40 whose bore is greater than the outside diameter of the distribution duct 16 so as to provide a radial space in which air can circulate when the actuator member is actuated. 14. The body 40 has an upper end 42 mounted on the nozzle 30 for connecting the dispenser member 14 and a lower end 44 which can bear against the bottom 22 of the storage container 12 after assembly. The upper end 42 of the body 40 is extended axially towards the pump body 28 by a frustoconical portion 46 flaring outwardly and surrounding the connecting piece 30. The lower end 44 of said body is tapered here.
The lower end 38 of the distribution duct 16 is here slightly offset axially upwards with respect to the lower end 44 of the tube 18. When the level of product remaining in the container 12 is low, the beveled shape of this lower end 44 facilitates the entry of the product into the tube 18 which is then sucked through the lower end 38 of the distribution duct 16. In this embodiment, the axial dimension of the distribution duct 16 is chosen so that its end lower 38 remains axially recessed relative to the lower end 44 of the tube 18 regardless of the position of said tube on the connecting tip 30. Alternatively, it is however possible to provide a distribution duct 16 extending axially projecting from the lower end 44 of the tube 18, when said distribution duct is made of a flexible material so as to be able to bend and deform when it abuts against the bottom 22 of the storage container so that the projecting portion can be bent and rest on the bottom 22. The dressing tube 18 can be made in one piece by molding a synthetic material , such as a polyolefin, for example polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP). It can be transparent, opaque, colored or not and have on its outer surface any desired geometric shape / or include pictograms that can for example indicate a mark. The tube 18 may also be made of metal material, for example stainless steel. The material chosen for the dressing tube 18 is adapted so that said tube is sufficiently rigid to prevent deformation, folding or bending when the lower end 44 bears against the bottom 22 of the storage container. The support sleeve 20 of axis X-X 'is advantageously produced by molding a synthetic material, for example polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) or polyoxymethylene (POM). I1 comprises a tubular outer body 50 provided to be mounted in the neck 24 of the storage container 12. To allow mounting of the dispensing member 14 inside the sleeve 20, the inner diameter of the body 50 is substantially equal to the outer diameter of the pump body 28. The body 50 comprises, at an upper end, a flange 52 extending radially outwardly on which is fixed the cup 35 of the dispensing member 14 to secure these two elements. Once assembled, the dispensing member 14 and the support sleeve 20 form a means for plugging the neck 24 of the storage container 12. The support sleeve 20 also comprises an annular internal guide portion 54, of axis X-X ', inside which the tube 18 is slidably mounted. It is in the form of a ring of small axial dimension. located at the lower end of the body 50. The sleeve 20 has radial arms 56 (FIG. 7) extending outwardly from the guide portion 54 and connected to the bore of the body 50. The arms 56 are here three in number and regularly arranged in the circumferential direction with respect to each other. They leave between them large openings 58 or free spaces extending circumferentially. The openings 58 make it possible to reduce the overall weight of the sleeve 20 and to obtain a passage or circulation of air when the dispensing member 14 is actuated. After fitting the dressing tube 18 onto the nozzle 30 of FIG. connection of the dispensing member 14 already equipped with the distribution duct 16, this subassembly is inserted inside the support sleeve 20 so as to pass the tube 18 in the guiding portion 54 until the frustoconical portion 46 of said tube abuts against said guide portion, as illustrated in Figures 3 and 4. The frustoconical portion 46 is located inside the body 50 of the sleeve, the body 40 of the tube 18 being in major part projecting axially downwards relative to said body 50. In this mounted position, the pump body 28 of the dispensing member is partially housed inside the body 50, the rod 32 extending axially projecting towards the top outside said body. On the opposite side to the rod 32, the connecting end 30 is slightly protruding axially relative to the guide portion 54 of the sleeve 20. The cup 35 is then fixed on the flange 52 of said sleeve, for example by crimping or screwing . In this assembled position, the upper end 42 of the body 40 of the tube 18 is housed in the guide portion 54 of the sleeve 20 and surrounds the connecting end 30 of the dispensing member 14, the frustoconical portion 46 allowing get the jamming of the tube on this part of the sleeve. The frustoconical portion 46 is axially remote from the pump body 28 of the dispenser member 14. The frustoconical portion 46 and the guide portion 54 form retaining means of the tube 18 on the sleeve 20 and on the dispenser member 14. Of course, it could be possible to provide on the tube 18 instead of the frustoconical portion 46 any other means adapted to form an axial abutment of the tube against the guide portion 54 of the sleeve 20 to ensure this axial retention. After assembly, the support sleeve 20, the casing tube 18 and the dispensing member 14 comprising the distribution duct 16 thus form a unitary assembly that can be stored, transported and handled without risk of separation of the constituent elements. This unitary assembly can then be mounted on the storage container 12 by depressing the sleeve 20 inside the neck 24 to obtain its closure. The sleeve 20 can be fixed in the neck 24 of the container by force fitting or any other appropriate means, for example by gluing, welding, etc. Upon introduction of the sleeve 20, the lower end 44 of the dressing tube 18 can bear against the bottom 22 of the storage container before the sleeve has reached the position of closure of the neck 24. When the sleeve 20 continues to be depressed inside the neck, this contact causes axial sliding of the tube 18 inside the guide portion 54 of the sleeve 20 and on the connecting end 30 of the dispenser member 14, towards the body 28 of said member. This displacement of the tube 18 relative to the sleeve 20 and to the dispensing member 14 is visible in FIGS. 5 and 6. The axial space remaining between the frustoconical portion 46 of the tube 18 and the body 28 of said member is reduced. Thus, during the depression of the support sleeve 20 inside the neck 24 of the container 12, if axial contact occurs between the lower end 44 of the dressing tube 18 and the bottom 22 before said sleeve n ' has reached the desired closure position, said tube can move axially relative to the distribution duct 16 and the dispenser member 14 so as to allow its axial approach or its rise relative to the body 28 of said member. Under these conditions, the support sleeve 20 can be pushed inside the neck 24 to the desired position ensuring a good closure of the container 12 while maintaining the contact between the lower end 44 of the tube 18 and the bottom 22 of the container without deformation of said tube.
The sliding capacity of the dressing tube 18 on the connecting end 30 of the dispensing member 14 makes it possible to vary the axial distance separating said tube and the body 28 from the dispenser member as a function of the dimensional variations. manufacturing may exist in particular at the thickness of the bottom 22 of a storage container to another. Indeed, as shown in Figures 8 and 9 in which the identical elements have the same references, the bottom 22 of the container 12 may have a greater thickness compared to that illustrated above. During the axial depression inside the neck 24 of the assembly formed by the sleeve 20, the dressing tube 18, the dispensing member 14 and the distribution duct 16 and after contact with the lower end 44 of the tube 18 with the bottom 22, said tube 18 slides on the tip 30 of the connection of the dispensing member 14 until the assembly reaches the closed position. In this position, the frustoconical portion 46 of the tube 18 is located axially in the immediate vicinity of the body 28. It is thus possible to maintain contact between the lower end 44 of the tube 18 and the bottom 22, and to obtain the desired depression of the sleeve 20 inside the neck 24 while avoiding deformation of the tube 18.
Thanks to the mounting of the tube 18 on the nozzle 30 of the connection of the dispensing member 14 so that it can translate freely on it, one thus obtains during the insertion of the support sleeve 20 to the inside the neck 24 of the container and the contact between the lower end 44 of said tube and the bottom 22, an automatic height adjustment of the tube 18 according to the thickness of the bottom 22 of the container. Of course, if the lower end 44 of the tube 18 comes to bear against the bottom 22 of the container only when the sleeve 20 has reached the plugging position of the neck 24 of said container, the tube 18 is not pushed axially towards the body 28 pump of the dispensing member 14 and it does not translate. As an indication, between the position illustrated in Figures 3 and 4 on which the frustoconical portion 46 of the tube 18 abuts against the guide portion 54 of the sleeve 20 and the position illustrated in Figures 8 and 9 wherein said frustoconical portion is in the vicinity immediately pump body 28 of the dispensing member 14, the displacement of the tube 18 may for example be of the order of three to five millimeters. Thus, it is possible to rest the lower end 44 of the tube 18 on the bottom 22 of the container even during manufacturing dimensional variations that may exist in particular from one storage container 12 to the other. In the embodiments described above, the casing tube 18 is slidably mounted on the connecting end 30 of the dispenser member 14. This provision is however not limiting. Alternatively, as illustrated in FIG. 10, in which the identical elements bear the same references, it is also possible to provide a sliding assembly of the casing tube 18 on the outside surface of the distribution duct 16. The axial dimension of the sleeve 20 of FIG. support is increased. In this variant embodiment, the dressing tube 18 can move axially with respect to the distribution duct 16 and to the dispenser member 14 until the base of the frustoconical portion 46 of said tube abuts against the lower end of the connecting piece 30 of said dispensing member. The embodiment illustrated in FIG. 11 differs from the first embodiment described only in that the device 10 is devoid of the distribution conduit 16. The tube 18 allows both the suction of the product and its flow towards the dispensing member 14. In all of the embodiments described, the device 10 comprises the attached support sleeve 20 for obtaining the retention of the dispensing member 14 and the tube 18 before mounting in the neck 24 of the container, and plugging said neck after assembly. However, it is also possible, without departing from the scope of the present invention, to remove this sleeve and directly fix the dispenser member 14 on the neck 24 of the container. In this case, it is however necessary to maintain the tube 18 on the connecting end 30 of the dispensing member 14, or on the distribution duct 16 according to the design retained, during the insertion of these elements to the inside the storage container 12. Throughout the patent application, by "understand" or "include", it is appropriate to include "understand at least" or "include at least".
