The present invention relates to a device for measuring the mechanical tension of a biological tissue area. Many treatments are developed to improve the characteristics of the skin. Age and certain pathologies also affect these properties. These two points create a demand for devices capable of measuring the characteristics of the skin before and after treatment, or during the monitoring of pathologies or for evaluating the effects of age. Moreover, during an operation, the necessary incision of the skin will locally modify the characteristics of the skin by creating a scar. The inconvenience could be usefully quantified if it were possible to measure the evolution of the characteristics of the skin at this location. A device 15 allowing preoperative measurement of the tension along several directions would also make it possible to replace or complete the clinical gesture making it possible to determine the optimal direction of the incision so that the scar is subjected to the weakest stresses. WO 2004/086325 discloses a sensor comprising a flexible membrane 20 similar to a pressure sensor. This device does not measure efforts in a direction parallel to the surface of the skin. It is therefore particularly unfit to measure the evolution of the characteristics of the skin in the vicinity of a scar. The device according to the invention is intended in particular to meet the needs mentioned above. According to the invention, a device for measuring the mechanical tension of a zone of biological tissue, is characterized in that it comprises: at least two pads capable of being fixed on the fabric, and at least one sensor of effort connecting the pads, directly or via a common base. The pads can be connected to the sensor via arms. The biological tissue can be the skin. Advantageously, the pads are fixed on the fabric with an adhesive. The force sensor may comprise at least one strain gauge. At least one pad may have a square shape. At least one arm may extend orthogonally to the average plane of the sensor. Advantageously, in a configuration with more than two pads, the angle between
L'exploitation des mesures effectuées simultanément peut être 2 the pads is a value chosen judiciously, depending on the parameters to be measured, generally 30 °, 45 °, 60 ° or 120 °. Other features and advantages of the invention will appear in the following description of a preferred embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings but which has no limiting character. In these drawings: 1 is a perspective view of the device according to the invention. Fig. 2 is a view similar to FIG. 1 according to another angle of vision. Fig. 3 is a view similar to FIG. 1, the device comprising skids of reduced size. Io Fig. 4 is a view similar to FIG. 3 according to another angle of vision. Fig. 5 is a view similar to FIG. 1, the device comprising an arm of greater length. Fig. 6 is a view similar to FIG. 5 according to another angle of vision. Fig. 7 is a view similar to FIG. 1 of another device according to the invention, comprising three pads arranged at 120 °, and FIG. 8 is a view similar to FIG. 7 according to another angle of vision. Throughout the following description of an embodiment of a device according to the invention, the relative terms such as upper, lower, front, rear, horizontal and vertical are to be interpreted when the device according to the invention is installed. on a biological tissue, in a functioning situation. We can see on Fig. 1 and 2 a device D according to the invention. The device D comprises two pads 1 and 2. Each pad 1, 2 has a lower contact surface 1a, 2a flat and substantially square shape. Each pad 1, 2 is integral with a first end of an arm 3, 4 extending parallel to the contact surfaces 1a, 2a. A second end of each arm 3, 4 is fixed on force sensor 5. The force sensor 5 thus connects the two arms 3, 4. The sensor 5 is in the form of a substantially rectangular elastic blade 3o. Two circular orifices at each of the ends of the sensor allow it to be attached to the arms 3, 4. Each arm 3, 4 comprises a threaded bore 3a, 4a which allows it to be secured to the sensor 5 by means of a fixing screw 3b, 4b. The sensor 5 is arranged so that its mean plane is orthogonal to the planes 1a, 1b. It is possible to use Wheasthone bridge stress and strain gage sensors, in single, / z, / 4 or full bridge, using 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6 gauges. For example, in the case of the use of a sensor using 6 gauges, 4 gauges are used for the deformations and 2 for the temperature compensation. The use of capacitive and even piezoelectric sensors can be envisaged. The device is used as follows: In a first step the pads 1 and 2 are fixed on the tissue T to be examined. The bond with the fabric T uses an adhesive, not shown, based on double-sided tape, or glue-based. The adhesive is selected from among the non-toxic adhesives for the individual. The sensor 5 is then connected to a not shown conditioner capable of processing the information from the sensor 5 and providing a voltage proportional to the intensity of the force between the pads 1 and 2. The fabric T is then subjected to deformation predefined around the sensor, either by any external device or by movement of the subject. The deformation induced in the tissue T causes a relative force between the pads which are connected by the arms 3 and 4 to the force sensor. The relative effort results in a deformation of the sensor 5, measured by means of a strain gauge, which transmits the information to the computer. By comparison with other tests carried out on the same fabric T with the same predefined deformation, it becomes possible to quantify a modification of the mechanical properties of the fabric T which would have occurred between the two tests. Especially in the context of use on the skin, different applications are possible. By comparing measurements made under the same conditions before and after a surgical operation, it becomes possible to characterize the modification of the properties of the skin because of the presence of the scar and to quantify the gene caused, to monitor the quality of the skin. scar, to follow a reeducation. It is also possible, prior to a surgical operation, to perform a series of measurements with constant deformation by varying the orientation of the sensor 5, by sliding the contact surfaces 1a and 1b on the skin, so as to determine the direction that the skin experiences the weakest or most important effort. The exploitation of the measurements carried out simultaneously can be
4 done in the same way to determine the direction or the effort is the most important or the weakest. This information can then be used by the surgeon making the incision.
Another application is to determine the deformation necessary to apply to the biological tissue to achieve a given effort between the pads. It is possible to vary the geometry of the device according to the applications. Fig. 3 and 4 illustrate the embodiment of a device according ~ o the invention where the size of the pads 1 and 2 has been reduced so as to facilitate the establishment of the device. Fig. 5 and 6 illustrate the embodiment of a device according to the invention wherein the length of the arm 3 has been increased so as to move the pads 1 and 2 away from each other. This may be useful in the case where the area to be studied has a larger area or in the case of the presence of wounds or equipment. It is also possible to measure in several directions at one time using for example a device with three pads as shown in Figure 7.
FIG. 7 shows another embodiment where a device with three pads 10, 11 and 12 is used. Each pad 10, 11 and 12 has a lower contact surface 10a, 11a and 12a flat and substantially square shape. Each pad 10, 11 and 12 is integral with an arm 13, 14 and 15, fixed to a force sensor 16, 17, 18. The angle between the normals to the sensors 16, 17, 18 is here 120 °. The sensors are connected to a common base 19 which may or may not be attached to the biological tissue. In this way the device can be oriented in several directions to determine the anisotropy of the biological tissue tension.
