DISPOSITIF DE MANîUVRE D'UN COUVERCLE DE COFFRE. DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING A TRUNK COVER. The invention relates to a device for operating a vehicle trunk lid including retractable roof. In particular for these vehicles with retractable roof the opening of the trunk lid is motorized because the driver of the vehicle must power from his seat by pressing a simple command, store his roof in the trunk or out of said trunk back. For the motorization of the cover, it is often used a double-acting type actuating cylinder whose one end is hinged to the vehicle body and the other end is hinged to the cover. In addition to the movement produced by the movement of the rod cylinder, said cylinder can be used to act on a latch used to immobilize the lid in the closed position. Thus, to open the lid, it is necessary to unlock the lid before moving it.
To allow this operation, one of the joints of the cylinder is designed with a dead stroke. It is often an elongated light in which a trunnion moves. This system is simple but has a disadvantage because the pin can move at will in the light when the lid is in the open position.
In an attempt to limit this effect, it is known to use FR-A-2 733 958 spring blades which mounted opposite one another will locally reduce the width of the light and thus create a zone of resistance limiting the movement of the trunnion. The springs are constrained only when the trunnion passes the narrowing. In the high or low position of the pin, the said pin is free to evolve in its half space. However, the passage of one side or the other of the narrowing is brutal which can cause a movement by blows of the lid.
In addition, over time, this device becomes less efficient because of the frictional wear of the leaf springs. The invention aims to provide a technical solution to this problem of instability. For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a device for operating a trunk lid comprising an actuating cylinder whose end is intended to articulate at least indirectly on the body of a vehicle by means of a first hinge and whose other end is intended to articulate at least indirectly on the lid by means of a second hinge, with one of said hinge comprising a trunnion moving in an elongate light to obtain a dead stroke characterized in that it comprises a tab intended to come during the opening maneuver of the lid, gradually tightening a spring. The invention will be better understood from the following description given by way of non-limiting example with reference to the drawing which represents: FIG. 1: An operating device (closed cover) according to the prior art FIG. operating device (open cover) according to the prior art FIG 3: An operating device according to the invention (closed cover) FIG 4: An operating device according to the invention (open cover) FIG 5, 6, 7: The operating mechanism according to different stages of the opening FIG 8: an embodiment detail (spring) FIG 9: A variant of the invention closed cover FIG 10: The solution of the object of FIG. 9 in the open lid position. Referring to Figures 1 and 2, there is shown a device for operating a trunk lid for storing the retractable roof composed of a front element 100 and rear 200.
This operating device 1 comprises an actuating cylinder 2, one end of which is intended to articulate at least indirectly on the body of a vehicle by means of a first articulation 3 and the other end of which is intended to articulating at least indirectly on the cover by means of a second hinge 4, with one of said hinges 3 comprising a pin 3A moving in an elongated slot 3B to obtain a dead stroke; Here, the trunnion is carried by the cylinder and the light by the box. Reverse mounting is possible Also, the hinge 4 with the lid could be dead. We see that in the closed position of the cover 5, a latch 6 cooperates with a striker 60. To unlock the latch, we take advantage of the dead stroke of the actuating cylinder. The mechanism for operating the lock has not been shown. At the beginning of the exit of the rod of the cylinder, the pin 3A slides in the light without causing the opening of the lid. When the pin 3B touches the bottom of the light, the lid rotates about a transverse axis 200, here located on the rear edge of the lid. In Figure 2, there is shown the pin in position as it should be if we do not take into account the center of gravity G of the lid. Indeed, when this center of gravity will pass the plane P passing through the axis of rotation 200, the lid will automatically switch backwards because the pin is not locked in the light. The trunnion will then go back into the light. Gusts of wind will act on the lid that will switch because of the light. The balance is also dependent on the horizontality or not of the parking area of the vehicle.
The following figures show a technical solution preventing this instability.
Referring to Figures 9 and 10, there is shown the lid 5, the actuating cylinder 2. The hinge 3 with the body (triangular support piece 11 here rigidly fixed to the body) comprises a pin 3A and a light 3B. The hinge 4 with the lid is here more complex than in FIGS. 1 and 2 because the lid will swing about a fictitious axis which moves during the movement. For this, the cover is hinged to the body by means of two connecting rods B1, B2 fixed by pivots on the lid and on the triangular support piece 11. The actuator acts on the common axis 22 of a compass C whose Cl branch is articulated on the connecting rod B1 and the other branch C2 articulated on the body. This operating device comprises a tab 7 intended to come during the opening maneuver of the lid, gradually tighten a spring 8 which will constrain the pin to remain at the bottom of the light. Here, the tab 7 is an extension of the compass branch C2 which is articulated on the body by means of an axis X located at a distance from the free end of the tab 7. The tab 7 and the branch C2 of compass forms a rocking lever. It will be understood that when the rod of the cylinder is lifted to lift the lid, the pin 3A slides in the elongate slot 3B and then acts on the compass C which switches to the right. The Cl branch of the compass acts on the connecting rod B I which rotates the lid. The tab 7 tilts and engages a spring which it gradually forces and, by reaction, this spring pushes the base of the jack which carries the pin into the bottom of the elongate lumen. Thus, we will gradually come to increase the force that keeps the trunnion stable. The progressiveness of the force makes the movement smooth and smooth. In addition, the spring is used to slow the movement at the end of the opening stroke of the lid. The spring could be attached directly to the leg 7 but it will be preferable for it to gradually come into engagement during the movement of said leg. The tab 7 is then independent of the spring and has an active face 7A intended to come into contact with the spring 8 during the opening movement of the lid. Advantageously, the spring is of the spiral type because it takes up less space and its stiffness can be important. It is held in place on a winder carried by the triangular piece. Figures 5 to 7 show how the tab 7, here hook-shaped engages with the end of the spring. The spring begins to act in the vicinity of half of the opening of the lid. From this position, the compression of the spring gradually increases to the maximum open position (Figure 7). The so-called stabilization device is therefore active only in the zone of instability of the lid which makes it possible to have all the power of the jack for the first part of the opening movement. When closing, the spring will assist the cylinder at the beginning of the closing movement. FIGS. 3 and 4 show a slightly different mounting from that of FIGS. 9 and 15. The articulation of the foot of the jack is achieved by a rocking lever 12 articulated on the triangular support piece 11 by means of an axis 13. 14 of this tilting lever is associated by a single axis 15 on the foot of the jack and the other end carries the pin 3A which moves in the elongated slot 3B. Figure 8 shows the part 300 fixed on the body and the spring 8. Note the location of the axis of the rocking lever 12 and the light 3B. It shows the end 16 of the spring which will engage with the tab 7. Figures 3 and 9 show the positions A, B, C occupied by the end 16 of the spring 8 8 corresponding to Figures 5, 6 and 7 .
Figures 3 to 10 show that the tab 7 is carried by an intermediate mechanism connecting the cylinder (actuator) to a set of connecting rods B1, B2 constituting for the cover a fictitious axis of articulation. We see that the system is compact. The support member 11 carries the elements of the operating device. This support piece also serves as a fulcrum for the connecting rods B1 and B2 of the axis of rotation of the cover which allows to lift the front edge of the lid. The different axes are transverse to the conventional direction of movement of the vehicle and the connecting rods B1, B2 and the branches C 1 and C2 of the compass move in vertical planes parallel to the longitudinal median axis of the vehicle. The rods B1 and B2 have been shown in the central part of the lid. They could, of course, be placed forward or back (see the connecting rods 52.58 in US6857686).
