The object of the present invention is to provide immediate relief from the pain of nipping or pinching as well as the avoidance of loss and change of the nail. The operation of the instrument in question is simple: it suffices to properly heat the strategic part, or point, and apply it to the region of the nail to be treated to release the blood mixture under pressure accumulated under this nail by the perforation of the latter. The instrument in question is preferably composed of three parts: 1) a: A tube, preferably of stainless steel, more or less three centimeters long, eight millimeters in diameter and one millimeter thick, used for the handling and to the cohesion of the instrument. The profile of the tube may be modified in the direction of a more suitable use, resulting in some cases the consequent change of the piston which will be discussed in paragraph 2. 1) b: A ring, preferably, stainless steel, about five millimeters long and sealed at one end of the tube, the measurement of the outer diameter is adapted to that of the inside diameter of the tube to perform the sealing by any suitable means in the field and the measurement of the internal bore is suitable for the free displacement and without play of the threaded rod which will be discussed in paragraph 3. This part for handling and cohesion of the instrument can be obtained by machining a cylinder, preferably stainless steel, resulting in the same shapes and dimensions as the tube-ring couple whose ring acts as a cylinder head. 2): A piston, about fifteen millimeters long drilled and threaded longitudinally at its center (or not) so that the threaded rod referred to in paragraph 3 is screwed or unscrewed freely and without play, sliding freely and without play inside the tube. 3) a: A threaded rod, preferably of stainless steel of a category particularly adapted to the use of the instrument thanks to its thermal qualities and about six centimeters long and three millimeters in diameter at the thread adapted to that of the piston described above, terminated at one of its ends by a truncated tip preferably measuring one millimeter in diameter at its base, a third of a millimeter in diameter at its end and two millimeters in height, at the end of a machining has reduced to approximately one millimeter the diameter of the threaded rod over a length of about eight millimeters. This machined part may advantageously be replaced by a workpiece, preferably having a diameter of one millimeter, twelve millimeters in length, and terminating in a truncated tip according to the same specifications as that described previously, reported on the threaded rod reduced in length of the part machined eight millimeters in length but pierced, in its center (or not) preferably parallel to the longitudinal axis of said threaded rod, to the dimension suitable for the fixed installation of said insert preferably fitted without play a depth of four millimeters. The interest of reporting this piece consists in the choice of a material better adapted to the use of the instrument on the one hand and the possibility of replacing the strategic part constituted by this part of the instrument on the other hand. 3) b: A means for moving in solidarity with said threaded rod which allows, by rotation, to screw and / or unscrew it in the piston and, by push or spring effect (which will be treated in the next paragraph ), longitudinally and jointly move the piston and the threaded rod in the tube. 3) c: A spring, installed around the threaded rod and preferably compressed one tenth of its length between the outer base of the yoke and the means for moving the threaded rod when the instrument is at rest, sufficiently powerful for remove and hold the piston against the cylinder head as long as there is no external intervention on the instrument. This spring is soft enough to be fully compressed without significant effort. The second interest of the spring is to prevent the rotation of the piston when the threaded rod is rotated, which is explained by the coefficient of friction of the piston against the yoke higher than the friction of the threads. Another advantageous solution would be to machine one or more flats on the piston and to adapt the inner profile of the tube.
The instrument according to the invention is therefore intended to perforate one (or more) traumatized nail (s) under which (which) is accumulated a quantity of blood liquid forming a dark task having a tendency to enlarge. It is characterized in that it comprises a tube in which slides a piston, adjusted there pierced and threaded longitudinally or not, traversed by a threaded rod terminated by a truncated tip. The threaded rod is secured to the piston by a screw thread adapted in order to adjust with respect to the end of the tube the length of the exceeding of the truncated tip to the extent of the thickness of the nail to be treated.
The return spring attracts, via the threaded rod, the piston against the yoke of the tube and the plate against it. The return spring is easily squeezable to exteriorize the truncated tip to expose it to a source of heat. The material constituting the truncated tip must therefore meet the thermal requirements of the use of the instrument.
