PERFECTIONNEMENT D'UN SYSTEME DE CONTENTION POUR GAVAGE DES PALMIPEDES LaIMPROVEMENT OF A CONTENT SYSTEM FOR GAVING PALMIPEDES
The present invention relates to a restraining device for maintaining the waterfowl during the gavage operation. Many patents relate to feeding facilities using cages intended in particular to facilitate the feeding operation. These various facilities, while providing some improvements in the progress of the feeding operation, do not satisfactorily solve the problem of the restraint of the animal during the almost automatic feeding operation. This problem has greatly evolved with the advent of the dosing machines using mash instead of kernels. The duration of the operation is therefore very small and does not require a significant immobilization of the animal. Feeding funnels have usually been replaced by plugs which nevertheless require manual intervention to maintain the animal's beak on the embuc. The dosage is generally automatic so it is important that the compression is operated quickly, automatically so as not to last longer than the feeding operation itself. The present invention specifically relates to a restraining device for maintaining the waterfowl during the introduction into the crop of the animal food fed by a metering machine to a feeding gun. The present invention is an improvement of our patent No. 95 04125 issued to HOURDEBAIGT-CAMY JEAN-FR, a main claim is: `contention device characterized in that it comprises in combination with all manipulating a grip holding a handle of the upper part of the beak of the animal against the embus so as to immobilize the spout during the transfer of the food from the feed to the crop. This device comprises, in combination with the manipulative handling assembly, a system for holding the upper part of the beak of the animal against the embus so as to immobilize the spout during the transfer of the food from the embudge to the crop. . Preferably the restraining device cooperates with a puck fixed on the embuc, said puck being shaped to the palatal vault of the spout so as to maintain immobilize the upper part of the spout between the puck and the counter puck of the restraining device when the Embossing is introduced into the crop. According to a preferred embodiment, the counter-puck of the restraining device has substantially a stirrup shape whose solid part is concave shaped to the upper external part of the beak of the animal. Preferably, the restraining device cooperates with the food dose distribution control so as to be able to interrupt this distribution if necessary, thus synchronizing the stopping of the distribution and the release of the animal. Advantageously the counter-pallet of restraint is made of stainless steel. Page 2 of 7 Advantageously the puck of restraint is made of flexible synthetic material allowing a better conformation of the palatal vault of the beak of the duck. Thus, according to the invention, the compression system attached to the embuc-butt assembly for handling the tip of the metering machine makes it possible to immobilize the palmiped head by pressing on the upper part of its beak. To do this, simply insert the embuc in the crop and then press the control button to immobilize the upper part of its nose between the dump with a puck and the counter palet of the contention device L The control button press also actuates the food dose dispensing device. In principle a preset timer determines the dose to be provided to the animal. However, to interrupt this distribution simply release the control button and simultaneously the restraining device releases the upper part of the beak of the animal. In addition, the handle-butt assembly for handling the endpiece comprising the restraining device according to the invention is suitable for different types of gaveuses using both the milled grain meal and whole corn kernels. In the latter case it allows the feeding of the palmiped maintained at an angle of 45 'relative to the horizontal whereas conventional tips involve immobilizing vertically position neither effective nor comfortable for both the animal for = manipulator. This invention requires manual tightening of the holding handle which may eventually cause fatigue of the muscles and tendons of the hand and forearm. Other features and advantages of the restraint device in accordance with this improvement of the invention No. 95 04125 issued to HOURDEBAIGT-CAMY JEAN-FR will become more apparent on reading the following description of an embodiment of the invention. given on an indicative basis and represented by the drawings. The single board is shown with the restraining device according to a side view showing the embuc (1) introduced into the animal's jabot. The puck (2) is positioned on the palatal arch of the upper part of the beak of the animal. By pressing the control button (3) the autonomous force system (4) transmits its force through the autonomous force transmission system so as to immobilize the upper part of the animal's beak between the counter-puck holding the contention device (6) and the puck (2). The upper part of the spout is then immobilized both in the longitudinal direction of the embuc (1) and in the transverse direction thanks to the rounded shape of the puck (2). Simultaneously the food distribution is triggered.
This distribution lasts about 2 to 5 seconds, normally programmed by a timer. However, the release of the control button (3) stops this distribution. Thus the manipulator, if it considers it useful, can modify the dose introduced into the crop of the animal. The release of the control button results in the opening of the restraining device. Therefore the upper part of the spout is no longer maintained by the retaining puck it is possible to remove the embuc and thus release the animal. Page 4 of 7 All of these operations introduction -contention - delivery of the food dose - release will have lasted less than 6 seconds. The new improved compression device consists of: - the counter puck (6) whose substantially concave shape is shaped to the upper outer part of the beak of the animal. - The autonomous force transmission system (5) formed by the combination of an arm (7) and a spring (8) which transmits a constant pressure to the retaining puck (6), I1 is equipped two limit switches (9) regulating the opening and closing of the retaining puck (6). - the autonomous force system (4), which can be any mechanical, pneumatic, electrical or hydraulic system.
Page 5 sur 7 Advantageously, the system chosen is a low-voltage electric geared motor. Advantageously, this device can be linked to a suspension system to relieve the effort of maintaining the assembly. Thus, the restraint device according to the invention responds well to fixed immobilization objectives. the beak of the palmiped during the feeding and this by a system of autonomous force which removes any manual effort and fatigue of the muscles and tendons of the hand and forearm. Of simple design it allows an easy handling. Page 5 of 7
