Abstract

The brace has a sleeve (1) constituted of a trapezoid piece comprising two lateral sides (4) extending from a large base (3) perpendicular to the lateral sides. particulièrement celui des orthèses de pouce pour le traitement de pathologies relatives à l'articulation trapézo-métacarpienne. Des douleurs au niveau du pouce sont courantes et peuvent être parfois invalidantes, le pouce étant nécessaire pour assurer la préhension. Ces douleurs sont généralement soit post-traumatiques, telle qu'une entorse trapézométacarpienne dite entorse du pouce soit dues à une pathologie dégénérative telle que la rhizarthrose, la tendinopathie de De Quervain ou similaire. Afin de soulager ces douleurs, il est bien connu d'utiliser une orthèse de pouce afin de mettre la colonne du pouce au repos. L'orthèse de pouce permet de placer le pouce en antéposition dans laquelle la première commissure est ouverte et la base du premier métacarpien est centrée sur le trapèze. C'est le cas par exemple de la demande de brevet français FR 2 822 371 qui décrit une orthèse de pouce-poignet. Cette orthèse de pouce-poignet est constituée d'un manchon apte à être enfilé sur la main et le poignet d'un patient. Ledit manchon comporte un premier moyen, placé entre le pouce et l'indexe, dans la première commissure, réalisé en un matériau épousant la forme de ladite commissure et adapté pour permettre d'une part la fermeture de ladite commissure à chaque sollicitation et d'autre part l'ouverture automatique de ladite commissure. Le manchon comporte également d'une part un second moyen placé au niveau de l'articulation trapézo-métacarpienne et qui consiste en un dispositif de serrage adapté pour exercer une force de recentrage de la bas du premier métacarpien et d'autre part un troisième moyen placé sur la face dorsale du pouce et consistant en un fourreau destiné à recevoir une éclisse, élastique adaptée pour augmenter l'effet d'écartement du matériau du premier moyen placé dans la première commissure. Claims

1 - thumb orthosis consisting of a sleeve (1) obtained in a flexible material comprising on the one hand a distal opening and a proximal opening for the passage of the fingers of the hand and on the other hand a sleeve (14) adapted to receiving at least one splice (15), characterized in that said sleeve (1) consists of a generally trapezoidal part (2) comprising a large base (3), two lateral sides (4) extending from the large base (3) generally perpendicular to the latter, said lateral sides (4) being connected by an elastic band (5), a small base (6) and two oblique sides (7) extending from said lateral sides (4) to at the small base (6), at least one of the oblique sides (7) having near the small base (6) a hooking band (8) extending substantially perpendicular to the oblique edge (7) and provided at its free end securing means (9) able to cooperate with means complementary securing of the outer face of the sleeve (1).

2 - orthosis according to claim 1 characterized in that said sleeve (1) comprises a strap (10) on the outer face of the sleeve (1), consisting on the one hand of a strip of contention (11) solidaire one of the lateral sides (4), and secondly a loop (12) adapted to receive said compression band (11).

3 - orthosis according to claim 2 characterized in that the compression band (11) has on its outer face loops adapted to cooperate with hooks (13) positioned on the inner face of said strip (11) at its free end.

4 - orthosis according to any one of claims 1 to 3 characterized in that it comprises a flexible strip of immobilization (17) of the thumb adapted to surround the thumb of the patient so that said immobilization band (17) following the short abductor thumb muscle, the ends of said band (17) being secured to sleeve attachment means (1) positioned on either side of the median plane M of said sleeve (1) along the oblique sides ( 7).

5 - orthosis according to claim 4 characterized in that the immobilization strip (17) consists of a longitudinally elastically deformable strip.

6 - orthesis according to any one of claims 4 or 5 characterized in that the fixing means positioned on either side of the median plane M of the sleeve (1) consist of loops adapted to cooperate with hooks (18) positioned at the free ends of said immobilization band (17).

7 - orthosis according to any one of claims 1 to 6 characterized in that it comprises a sleeve (14) extending on the outer face of the sleeve (1) from the middle portion of the small base (6) of the sleeve (1) to the large base (3) of said sleeve (1), said sleeve (14) extending at a distance d from the median plane M of the sleeve (1) at the large base (3).

8 - orthosis according to claim 7 characterized in that it comprises a second sleeve (16) extending on the outer face of the sleeve (1) from the middle portion of the small base (6) of the sleeve (1) until to the large base (3) of said sleeve (1), said second sleeve (16) extending at a distance d from the median plane M of the sleeve (1) at the level of the large base (3) so that the sleeves (14) and (16) extend symmetrically on either side of the median plane M of said sleeve (1).

9 - orthosis according to any one of claims 1 to 8 characterized in that the splint (15) consists of a straight rigid or semi-rigid splint.
