Description

Description de l'inventionDescription of the invention

The present invention relates to an improvement for a helmet comprising a mechanism for folding, distribution of shocks and adaptability to the morphology of the skull. The structure of the external helmet is made of rigid materials and the internal structure is composed of viscous fluids allowing absorption and distribution of shocks. The invention can be used for any type of helmet.

Many sports and leisure activities require the use of a helmet. Generally, the helmet is relatively heavy, bulky, with a one-piece outer shell to ensure protection and safety at the expense of the aesthetic appearance and comfort sought by the user. In addition, the materials used on helmets today, deform irreversibly following a shock. Subsequently, the helmet no longer fulfills its protective functions without the user being aware of it. The helmet then presents a large size regarding its transportability. It is difficult to put it in a bag for example. The helmet also offers a limited comfort because of its rigidity and its inadaptability to the morphology of the skull of each user because the sizes are standardized. All these aspects contribute to the non-wearing of the helmet by the majority of the users.

Thus, the present invention aims to reduce the disadvantages of transportability, adaptability and comfort by providing a helmet that folds and provides comfort and optimal protection.

The outer shell of the helmet is composed of two translucent lateral shells (1) based on rigid polymer which are in direct contact with the external environment. Its function is to give the rigid structure of the helmet. Transparency is to highlight the aesthetic and technological side of the helmet by revealing the internal cushioning material.

Figure 1 is a top view of the helmet. Figure 2 is a zoom on the interface between the three axes of the skeleton, front. Figure 3 is a rear view of the open helmet. Figure 4 is a section of the helmet. Figure 5 is a front view of the helmet. Figure 6 is a side view of the helmet. The structure of the helmet is based around a skeleton (2) which takes the pillars of resistance of the skull. It consists of three arms and an interface (3) located in the center of the helmet and connecting the three arms. The skeleton gives the main rigidity of the helmet. It is composed of plastic material or composite material for example based on all kinds of fibers impregnated with a thermoplastic or thermosetting resin. The interface (3) has the function of allowing the mobility of the two lateral parts of the helmet. On this interface, a press button (4) releases or blocks a pivot connection allowing the lateral portions to be folded or held in the open position. It is also composed of plastic material or composite material for example based on all kinds of fibers impregnated with a thermoplastic or thermosetting resin. The folding mechanism is carried out in several steps. The assembly of the two parts of the skeleton (2a and 2b) and an axis creates a pivot connection of the helmet. The press button is connected to the skeleton (2a) by a pivot connection that is compressed by a spring. This press button has pins at its ends which are embedded in a location for this purpose on the opposite hinge of the skeleton (2b). There will be slots for the closed position and for the open position. The rear part (5) of the helmet includes two technical elements: a manual air pump (6). an envelope of damping internal materials (7). This rear part has a function of damping and dressing, and is composed of elastomer-based materials. The air pump (6) is connected to air cushions located on the two lateral sides and on the rear part. Its role is to allow the filling of the air which will then inflate the air pads and thus adapt the shape of the helmet to the shape of the head. This pump is also made of flexible and elastic plastic material. The envelope (7) damping materials and air pockets has the function of enclosing the viscous material that absorbs and distributes shocks. This envelope, based on plastic materials, is transparent and semi-rigid. The damping material (8) has the function of absorbing shocks and distributing the stresses and adapting the helmet to the shape of the head while providing additional comfort. This material is based on viscous polymer, which allows it to retain its characteristics as a result of various stresses such as a shock. The inside of the helmet (9) is covered with elastomer-based materials and has a damping and dressing function. The helmet is provided with a ventilation system (10) which is composed of slots on the two side shells (1) creating an air inlet controlled by shutters for open and closed positions. To allow the flow of air throughout the cranial surface, the inner elements (the envelope (7) and the inner lining (9)) have cavities. Thus the air comes out through the skull / helmet interface. These shutters are made from thermoplastic polymer. The fastening straps (11) of the helmet to the head are based on polymeric woven fibers. Their function is to maintain the correct position of the helmet on the head by a system of adjustment and closure.

Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments described and represented by way of examples, but it also includes all the technical equivalents as well as their combinations.
