Abstract
Description
1 L'invention concerne un aménagement intérieur de véhicule automobile duThe invention relates to an interior of a motor vehicle of
The dashboards of certain motor vehicles have upper faces facing the windshield, and covered by such a grained coating. These boards may include so-called backlighting means for example to project on the windshield of the vehicle light information such as the speed of the vehicle or direction indications provided by the vehicle guidance system. The coating must then be formed, at least locally, of a translucent material.
The backlighting means comprise a light source placed under the translucent coating, and projecting a light beam upwardly through the coating. Part of the light transmitted through the grained coating hits the windshield and reflects back to the driver.
This type of display is known by the acronym VTH (Vision Head High) because it allows the driver to read the information without having to look down to the dials arranged on the dashboard of the vehicle. This type of display has the defect that the reflected radiation can disturb the driver and prevent him from seeing clearly through the windshield objects in front of the vehicle. In this context, the invention aims to provide an interior arrangement for a better visual comfort for the driver or passengers. To this end, the invention relates to an interior arrangement of the aforementioned type, characterized in that the coating comprises a plurality of grains each delimited each at least by first and second zones rotated in respective directions different from each other. other, the first zones of at least some of the grains being opaque to at least one type of light, the second zones of said grains being translucent for said or each of said types of light. The interior arrangement may have one or more of the following characteristics, considered individually or in any technically possible combination: the first opaque zones of the grains are turned towards the same determined element of the motor vehicle and the second translucent zones of the said grains are turned in another direction; the coating is made of a translucent material for said or each of said types of light; the arrangement comprises at least one light source placed under the coating and capable of projecting a beam of said or one of said types of light through the coating; the arrangement comprises a mask partially intercepting the light beam between the light source and the coating; the light source comprises a screen capable of dynamically displaying luminous information; - The arrangement comprises a control member of a vehicle function disposed under the coating, the light source being integrated in the control member; the first opaque zones of the grains are covered with a film of material opaque to said or each of said types of light, the second translucent zones of said grains not being covered by said film; and - the interior layout is a dashboard. According to a second aspect, the invention relates to a method for producing a motor vehicle interior, characterized in that it comprises at least the following steps: - formation of grain impressions on an inner surface of a mold, - formation of grains by molding the coating in the mold, - projection of an opaque material on at least some grains at such an incidence that the opaque material is deposited only on the first areas of the grains, - projection of an opaque material on at least a portion of said inner surface of the mold, at an incidence such that the opaque material is deposited only on parts of the fingerprints corresponding to the first zones of the grains, - formation of the grains and transfer of the opaque material to the first zones of the grains by molding the coating in the mold. The method may also have one or more of the following characteristics, considered individually or in all technically possible combinations: the inner surface of the mold is made of a material having a high surface tension; and - the grain impressions are formed on the inner surface of the mold by laser erosion. According to a third aspect, the invention relates to a motor vehicle comprising a windscreen and an interior arrangement placed under the windscreen, characterized in that the first areas of grains opaque to at least one type of light are turned towards the front broken. The vehicle may further comprise the following feature: the second translucent zones of said grains are turned towards the driver of the motor vehicle. Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the detailed description given below, by way of indication and not by way of limitation, with reference to the appended figures, in which: FIG. 1 is a diagrammatic representation; , in side view, of a motor vehicle provided with a dashboard according to the invention; - Figure 2 is an enlarged view, in section, of a detail of the grained coating of the dashboard of Figure 1; Figures 3 to 7 illustrate successive steps of a first method for producing the dashboard of Figure 1; Figures 8 and 9 illustrate steps of a second method for producing the dashboard of Figure 1; and FIGS. 10 and 11 illustrate other examples of application of the invention. In the following description, the front and the back are heard relative to the normal direction of movement of the vehicle. The motor vehicle 1 shown in Figure 1 comprises a passenger compartment 2, a windshield 4 and a dashboard 6 placed under the windshield 4, at the front of the passenger compartment 2. The driver 8 of the vehicle is susceptible to sit in the cockpit 2, immediately at the rear of the dashboard, in a position such that its head 10 is located at a certain level above the dashboard 6. The dashboard 6 is delimited upwards, that is to say towards the windshield 4, by an upper face covered by a grained outer coating 12. The coating 12 extends for example according to a slightly curved surface downwards when one it follows from front to back. The dashboard 6 also comprises means 14 for projecting a light beam 16 through the coating 12. The means 14 comprise, for example, a light source 18 disposed in a cavity of the dashboard and means (not shown) to guide the light beam emitted by the source 18 to the coating 12, and to distribute this light beam over all or part of the surface of the coating 12. Alternatively, the means 14 may comprise a plurality of light sources disposed immediately under the coating 12. These light sources are placed at a distance from each other and each illuminate an area of the coating. Each point of the coating 12 illuminated by the beam 16 receives light rays in different incidences, these rays being oriented generally upwardly and rearwardly of the vehicle (Figure 2). The coating 12 is formed of at least partially translucent material, having the property of allowing at least a portion of the light beam 16 to pass through. The material can pass only light rays of wavelength within predetermined ranges. , or on the contrary let pass all the wavelengths. The light source is chosen according to the wavelengths that the translucent material passes through. The coating 12 is for example made of PVC.
In order to prevent the incident beam is transmitted through the coating 12 to the windshield 4, the grains 20 formed on the free face of the coating 12 transmitted to the windshield 4 are each delimited by first and second facets 22 and 24 tours in different respective directions. The first facet 22 of each grain 20 forms an area facing the windshield 4. The second facet 24 of each grain 20 is for example perpendicular to the facet 22 and is turned towards the zone of the passenger compartment occupied by the head 10 when the driver is seated in the front left seat of the vehicle. Each grain 20, considered in a plane perpendicular to the transverse direction, thus has a triangular profile delimited opposite the dashboard by the facets 22 and 24. The grains 20 have come from molding with the coating and are therefore constituted of the same translucent material as this one.
The first facet 22 is covered with a film 26 of a material opaque to the light emitted by the source 18. On the contrary, the second facet 24 is not covered by the film 26. The light rays emitted by the source 18 and arriving at the grain 20 of the coating in an orientation directed towards the windshield 4 meet the facet 22 and are absorbed by the film 26. On the contrary, the light rays arriving at the grain 20 with an orientation such that they are directed towards the driver through the facet 24 and are not absorbed. The material constituting the film 26 is typically a paint. A first method for producing a coating 12 as described above will now be detailed with reference to FIGS. 3 to 8. During a first step (FIG. 3), a mold 28 adapted to produce the grained coating 12 is created. For this, the imprints of the grains 20 are formed on an internal surface 32 of the mold. This operation is carried out by erosion with the aid of a laser device 34 controlled by a computer. A laser beam 36 emitted by the device 34 sweeps the surface 32. This sweeping causes a controlled removal of material on the surface 32 making it possible to create the imprints of the grains 20, as shown in FIG. 4. During a second step (FIG. see Figure 5), the PVC is injected into the cavity 38 of the mold 30. This cavity is delimited on one side by the surface 32. The part 40 obtained after demolding has the general shape of the coating 12 and bears on one of its faces the grains 20 (Figures 6 and 7). The paint is then projected on the first facets 22 of the grains 20 by means of a projection head 42 moved by robotic means not shown. The paint is projected at such an angle with respect to the grains that the paint is deposited only on the first facets 22 of the grains. As shown in FIG. 7, the paint is projected at an incidence substantially perpendicular to the facets 22.
Finally, the coating 12 is fixed on the structure of the dashboard 6. A second method adapted to produce the interior arrangement described above is partially illustrated in Figures 9 and 10. As in the first method, it is prepared to first, a mold 30 bearing the imprint of the grains 20 of the coating on an inner surface 32. Then, during a second step (FIG. 8), a film 26 of paint is deposited on portions of the imprints corresponding to the first facets 22 grains. For this purpose, a paint projection head 44 is used which is moved by unrepresented robot means. The paint is projected at such an incidence in relation to the impressions that this paint is deposited only on the parts corresponding to the first facets 22. The paint does not deposit on the parts of the indentations corresponding to the second facets 24 of the grains. For this purpose, a material having a high surface tension is selected for the inner surface 32 of the mold. Such materials are characterized by poor wettability, so that the paint drops projected on this material do not spread. This reduces the risk of spilling of the paint from the first facets 22 of the grains to the second facets 24 of the grains.
The surface 32 of the mold is for example formed in a metal alloy containing nickel, or in a plastic resin. Moreover, it is used to project the paint from the head 44 a nozzle capable of projecting the paint in the form of fine droplets. Once the paint is deposited, as shown in FIG. 9, the mold 30 is closed, and PVC is introduced into the cavity 38 of the mold. This operation makes it possible to perform both the molding of the coating 12, the formation of grains and the transfer of the opaque paint from the inner face 32 of the mold to the facets 22 of the grains.
The coating 12, after demolding, is fixed on the structure of the dashboard 6. Another example of application of the invention is illustrated in Figure 10. As shown in this figure, the upper face of the dashboard 6 comprises a rigid insert 44 and a foam layer 45 covering the in-sert 44, the coating 12 covering the foam layer. The dashboard 6 comprises a member 46 for controlling a function of the vehicle disposed under the coating 12, for example a push button or a capacitive member. This member is rigidly fixed on the insert 44 and has a display surface 48 flush with the coating 12. The light source 18 is integrated in the control member 46 and projects the light beam 16 to the display surface 48 This is translucent and passes at least part of the light beam 16. Moreover, it carries a mask 50 of an opaque material for the beam 16, placed to intercept the beam 16 in certain areas of the surface 48. The mask 50 draws a luminous pattern on the display surface 48 when the light source 18 is in operation. This pattern typically corresponds to the pictogram symbolizing the function controlled by the organ 46.
The light rays 16 transmitted through the surface 48 and directed towards the windshield 4 are absorbed by the film 26 covering the facets 22 of the zone of the coating 12 located in line with the member 46. The light rays 16 transmitted to across the surface 48 and directed towards the driver's head 10 through the facets 24 are not absorbed.
The display surface 48 is not reflected on the windshield 4 but remains visible to the driver. In an alternative embodiment, not shown, the light source is integrated not in a control member but in a display member having a display surface as described above. This display surface is flush with the grained coating and carries a mask for locally absorbing the light beam by drawing a pattern.
In another variant embodiment, shown in FIG. 11, the light source 18 comprises a screen 52 able to dynamically display luminous information on a display surface 48. The information can be of any type: alphanumeric characters, graphic symbols, etc ... The screen 52 is for example of the flexible electroluminescent surface type or is a liquid crystal LCD screen or is LED (LED). It is connected to a computer (not shown) controlling the information to be displayed by the screen.
As before, the display surface 48 is flush with the coating 12, so that the light beam produced by the surface 48 is transmitted only towards the driver's head and is absorbed towards the windshield. The screen 52 is rigidly fixed on the insert 44.
As previously, the screen 52 can be associated with a control member (push button, capacitive control). In this case, it replaces the source 18 and the mask 50 shown in FIG. 10, which makes it possible to vary the pictogram represented on the control member. The screen 52 may also be a simple display member.
In the application examples of FIGS. 10 and 11, the coating 12 may be translucent only in the zone situated in line with the control or display member, the coating being completely opaque outside this zone. Such a coating can be obtained for example by overmolding a translucent part with an opaque part, or by injecting into the same mold a translucent part and an opaque part, or else by producing the coating entirely in a translucent material and then by painting the coating completely except in areas that must remain partially translucent, in which only some faces of the grains are painted.
The interior arrangement described above has multiple advantages. Since some grains are delimited by first and second zones turned in different directions, the first zones being opaque and the second translucent zones, it becomes possible to place a light source under the coating and to direct the light beam transmitted to through the coating so that this beam is no longer reflected on the windshield. The visual comfort of the driver is improved, it is not hindered by the radiation reflected on the windshield to distinguish the objects on the road in front of the vehicle. The first areas of the grains can be opaque in a very convenient manner by depositing a film of an opaque material thereon. This material, preferably, consists of paint.
The interior arrangement described above can have multiple variants. This layout is not necessarily a dashboard. It may be for example a lining of an opening of the vehicle, disposed immediately under the window of this opening. The interior layout may also not be placed under a window or windshield. The landscaping can be any structure of the vehicle on which one wishes to create a particular light effect. Thus, the invention can be used to create in an area of the cabin a luminous decor whose appearance changes depending on the direction in which it is considered.
The interior design can also be used to illuminate certain areas of the passenger compartment in a controlled manner. In this case, the translucent zones of the grains are those which are turned towards said place, the zones of the grains which are not turned towards said place of the passenger compartment being opaque.
The opaque material deposited on the opaque areas of the grains may not be a paint. This material may be formed of any type of coating, organic or otherwise, sufficiently fluid to be deposited by spraying or coating on the grains of the coating. The light source possibly placed in the interior arrangement can project a white light or, on the contrary, a light containing only certain wavelengths. The light source is co-ordinated with the translucent material constituting the grained coating, so that at least some wavelengths of light are transmitted through the coating. The interior design can be used without internal lighting. For example, it can be used to create play of light when the grained coating is illuminated from the outside by sunlight or light emitted by a light bulb. The opaque zones of the grains will absorb the light whereas the translucent zones will partially transmit the light. There will therefore appear a contrast to the surface of the interior layout.
Alternatively, it is possible to create the opaque zones and the translucent zones of the grains by first covering the entire surface of the grains with opaque paint, then selectively dissolving the paint deposited on the second zones of the grains. It is also possible to create the opaque zones of the grains by applying them thermal, physical or chemical treatments, for example by heating them. The grains of the coating do not necessarily have a triangular profile and may be delimited by free surfaces of any shape. All the areas of these surfaces turned in a given direction are rendered opaque and all areas of these surfaces which are not rotated in this direction are translucent. All the grains of the coating can be treated so as to be made partially opaque or on the contrary only the grains located at certain locations of the coating can be treated. Moreover, at the same location of the coating, only some grains can be treated or on the contrary all grains can be treated.
