Abstract

The arrangement has a vaporization unit comprising a flap (38) movably mounted between rest and operating positions. The flap is horizontally extended parallel to an exhaust gas flow (F) in the rest position so as not to disturb the flow in a circular exhaust conduit (18). The flap is inclined towards downstream in the operating position so as to improve vaporization of a reducing agent i.e. liquid fuel (24), in an exhaust gas and reducing agent mixture by respectively creating a depression near an active surface (28) and turbulences in the mixture.

Description

"Agencement comportant des moyens mobile pour la vaporisation d'un agent"Arrangement comprising mobile means for the vaporization of an agent

The invention relates to an arrangement comprising mobile means for the vaporization of a reducing agent for the regeneration of an exhaust gas pollution control system. The invention relates more particularly to an arrangement for the depollution of a motor vehicle engine, comprising at least one exhaust line which, arranged downstream of the engine, is provided with a combustion engine. an exhaust gas depollution system comprising at least one catalyst and a device for filtering the particles contained in the exhaust gases of the engine, and a device for regenerating the filtering device which is arranged, upstream of the device for filtering particles, in a duct of the exhaust line and which comprises means for injecting a reducing agent to perform in the conduit a mixture of reducing agent and exhaust gas, said mixture being intended to be ignited in the filter device in order to cause a rise in temperature to remove the particles contained in the filter device, and vaporizing means having at least one active surface which is heated to a predetermined temperature so as to evaporate the liquid phase reducing agent which is selectively sprayed by the associated injection means during regeneration. Internal combustion engines produce and emit toxic pollutants in the exhaust gases, in particular nitrogen oxides or NOx and soot particles. In an effort to respect the environment, anti-pollution standards applicable to motor vehicles impose on manufacturers maximum quantities of pollutants 2910532 2 released into the atmosphere, which must be lower and lower. For this reason, the use of exhaust emission control systems, such as particle filters, which are arranged downstream of the engine in the exhaust line has been generalized in order to eliminate exhaust gas at least a portion of the particles and / or pollutants produced during combustion, including soot particles. It is known, however, that a particulate filter must be regenerated regularly to prevent the accumulation of particles in the filter. Indeed, accumulating trapped particles are likely to cause clogging of the filter which directly affects both the efficiency of the pollution control system and the operation of the engine by slowing the flow of exhaust gases. The regeneration is to raise the temperature of the exhaust gas so as to burn and / or oxidize the particles trapped in the cells of the particle filter. In order to achieve the temperature rise in the filter, the temperature of the exhaust gases is increased by, for example, producing a combustion, also called post-combustion, which is shifted in time with respect to the main combustion. Thus, in order to carry out these regeneration operations, it is known to arrange, in a conduit of the engine exhaust line, upstream of the particulate filter, a regeneration device comprising means for injecting a reducing agent. , usually fuel. The fuel is then carried away by the exhaust gas stream to the particulate filter. The contact of the fuel with a suitable catalyst which impregnates the particulate filter, produces a release of heat which is sufficient to combust the trapped particles, particularly soot. Such a device is all the more effective as the liquid fuel injected into the exhaust duct is completely evaporated. However, during each injection, a portion of the fuel is able to reach without evaporating a so-called "wet" zone of the inner cylindrical face of the exhaust duct which is located opposite the injection means. The liquid fuel then spreads over the wet area. In order for the liquid fuel to be evaporated, it must be heated to an evaporation temperature which is generally lower than the temperature of the exhaust gas. The inner face of the exhaust duct is heated by the exhaust gas. However, at the same time, the outer cylindrical face of the exhaust duct is permanently cooled by cooler air than the exhaust gas. The heat of the exhaust gas transmitted to the internal face of the exhaust duct is thus partly dissipated by the external face of the exhaust duct. The internal cylindrical face of the exhaust duct is therefore not always likely to reach a temperature sufficient to evaporate the liquid fuel. However, the presence in excessive proportion of unvaporated liquid fuel then results in an incomplete regeneration of the particulate filter and it is moreover liable to damage it, in particular by causing cracking of the catalyst. To solve this problem, the invention proposes an arrangement of the type described above, characterized in that the vaporization means are arranged in the exhaust duct 30 and comprise at least one flap which is mounted movably between at least: - a first position, said rest, wherein the flap extends generally horizontally, parallel to the flow of the exhaust gas, so as not to disturb the flow of exhaust gas in the conduit; and a second operating position, in which the flap is inclined downstream with respect to the first resting position so as to improve the vaporization of the reducing agent in the mixture by respectively creating a depression in the vicinity the active vaporization surface and turbulence in the flow of the reducing agent and exhaust gas mixture. Advantageously, the regeneration device of the depollution system of the arrangement comprises vaporization means for evaporating the liquid reducing agent which are interposed between the injection means and the wet zone of the internal cylindrical face according to the state of the technique. Due to its arrangement inside the duct of the exhaust line, the movable flap according to the invention is automatically heated by the exhaust gas and it is advantageously heated to a predetermined temperature for effectively evaporating the exhaust gas. reducing agent projected by the injection means. Advantageously, the movable flap according to the invention makes it possible selectively to modify, during the implementation of a regeneration, the aerodynamics of the flow of the flow of the exhaust gases, by locally creating said depression in the vicinity of the active vaporization surface as well as turbulence in the flow of the resulting mixture to increase its homogeneity to improve its flammability and combustion. By improving the vaporization of the fuel and obtaining a more homogeneous mixture of the fuel with the exhaust gas, the regeneration of the particulate filter is improved, particularly since the entire filter surface is contact with the regenerating mixture. According to other features of the invention: the shutter is pivotally mounted about an axis of rotation which extends transversely, orthogonal to the axial direction of flow of the exhaust gases, and which is connected to actuating means which are selectively controlled to pivot the flap between at least the rest and operating positions; the movable flap comprises at least one upper face, referred to as wet, comprising the active vaporization surface of the reducing agent and a lower, so-called dry face, the said faces being capable of being heated by the exhaust gases to a determined temperature greater than or equal to the evaporation or vaporization temperature of the reducing agent; the movable flap has, in axial section along a vertical plane, a generally aerodynamic shape of the "airplane wing" type, which, of small thickness, consists of a convex profile formed by the wet upper face and of a concave profile formed by the dry lower face; in the operating position, the exhaust gases heat the dry underside so that the heat received by the dry underside is diffused to the moist upper face in order to limit the cooling occurring on the active surface when vaporization of the liquid reducing agent; At least a portion of the flap is made of a given material or alloy selected for its thermal conductivity properties so as to optimize the external heat exchange of each of the upper and lower faces with the exhaust gases and the exchange internal heat between the upper and lower faces of the flap; at least part of the flap is made of a material or alloy selected for its heat capacity properties so as to optimize the vaporization of the reducing agent by promoting, in particular when the flap is in the horizontal resting position; , the accumulation in the flap of a determined amount of heat that is capable of being restored later, especially during the vaporization to limit the cooling of the flap operating on the active surface of vaporization in contact with the agent liquid reducer; the shutter comprises at least one inner core forming a heat accumulator capable, as a function of the temperature variations of the shutter, of changing its physical state in order to absorb the heat of the exhaust gases or, conversely, to restore the heat absorbed , especially during the vaporization to limit the cooling of the flap operating on the active surface of vaporization in contact with the liquid reducing agent; the flap comprises, upstream, a leading edge which is connected, downstream, to a trailing edge via lateral edges, said to be marginal, all of said edges defining a generally ovoid profiled contour suitable for limiting, in the horizontal position of rest, the disturbances created by the flap in the flow of the exhaust gases; The shutter is positioned so that at least the lateral edges of the flap are tangentially in contact with the internal wall of the exhaust duct; the shutter has a symmetry with respect to the vertical plane and / or a symmetry with respect to the horizontal plane, each plane of symmetry passing respectively through a main axis of the shutter which extends, in the rest position, longitudinally along the axial direction exhaust gas flow; the shutter is positioned centrally in the exhaust duct, substantially downstream of the injection means of the reducing agent; - The flap is likely to be inclined downstream of a given angle so as to increase the back pressure at the exhaust, especially to cause an increase in the temperature of the exhaust gas; the reducing agent is fuel. Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the detailed description which follows, for the understanding of which reference will be made to the appended drawings in which: FIG. 1 is a schematic perspective view showing a embodiment of an arrangement according to the invention comprising a movable flap arranged in an exhaust duct so as to vaporize the reducing agent injected by the associated injection means; - Figures 2 and 3 are views in axial section through a vertical plane of the arrangement of Figure 1, which is is respectively the first position, said rest, and the second position, said operating, the flap; FIG. 4 is a view in axial section through a horizontal plane of the arrangement of FIG. 1, which represents the movable flap according to the invention and illustrates an example of a profiled contour 20 having an aerodynamic shape of ovoid type. In the following description, identical, similar or similar elements will be designated by the same reference numerals. In the description and in the claims, the longitudinal, vertical and transverse terminology will be used in a nonlimiting manner with reference to the trihedron (L, V, T) shown in the figures. FIG. 1 shows an arrangement 10 for the depollution of a heat engine (not shown) according to the invention. The arrangement 10 comprises an exhaust line 12 which, shown here in part, is arranged downstream of the engine so as to allow the evacuation of the exhaust gases produced by the engine in operation and resulting from the combustion. The exhaust line 12 is equipped with an exhaust gas cleaning system 14 for treating the exhaust gases before they are released into the atmosphere. Such a pollution control system 14 comprises for example a filtering device 16 and preferably an associated catalyst. The filter device 16 is generally constituted by a particulate filter for filtering the particles contained in the exhaust gas, such as soot particles. In general, the purpose of the pollution control system 14 is to eliminate or limit the presence of impurities, such as particles, or of polluting substances in the exhaust gases emitted by the motor vehicle. The exhaust line 12 comprises at least one duct 18, here of generally circular section, which is traversed by a stream F of exhaust gas flowing from upstream to downstream according to the arrows indicated in FIG. that is to say from the engine and to the particulate filter 16 of the pollution control system 20 14 fitted to the exhaust line 12. The exhaust duct 18 extends axially along a longitudinal axis XX and comprises a regeneration device 20 of the filtering device 16. The regeneration device 20 is arranged, upstream of the particle filtering device 16, in a section of the duct 18 of the exhaust line 12. The regeneration device 20 comprises mainly a part of the injection means 22 of a reducing agent 24 and, secondly, of the vaporization means 26 associated with the injection means 22. The injection means 22 consist for example of at least one injector, such as a low pressure injector 2910532 9 and the reducing agent 24 sprayed by the injector 22 is advantageously fuel. The regeneration device 20 has the function of producing in the conduit 18 of the exhaust line 12 a mixture of reducing agent 24 and exhaust gas which is intended to be ignited in the filtering device 16 in order to cause the temperature rise to eliminate the particles contained in the filter device 16. In known manner, the regeneration of a filter device 16 as a particulate filter is obtainable by temporarily enriching the flow For example, when the fuel 24 comes into contact with a given catalytic substance of the depollution system 14, an exothermic oxidation reaction is then produced. said elevation of temperature in the system 14 for carrying out the regeneration, in particular by combustion of the trapped particles in the case of a p-type filter articules 16. The vaporization means 26 of the regeneration device 20 comprise at least one active surface 28 heated to a determined temperature T which is greater than the evaporation temperature Te of the reducing agent 24. Preferably, the injector 22 is mounted integral with the exhaust duct 18 via a support (not shown) and is here implanted above and outside the duct 18. The injector 22 is for spraying the fuel 24 inside the duct 18 through an orifice 30 that includes the inner cylindrical wall 32 of the duct. Advantageously, the end of the injection nose 34 of the injector 22, through which the fuel 24 is sprayed into the conduit 18, for example in the form of a cone 36 (see FIG. 3), is arranged in a recess so as not to protrude through the orifice 30 inside the conduit 18 and thus avoid any disturbance of the flow of the flow F of the exhaust gas. The vaporization means 26 are arranged in the exhaust duct 18 in a position determined as a function of the associated injector 22, in particular the geometrical parameters of the spraying cone 36 of the fuel, and so as to evaporate the fuel 24 liquid phase that selectively projects the injector 22 during a regeneration operation. The vaporization means 26 are arranged inside the exhaust duct 18 and advantageously interposed on the fuel path 24 between the top of the cone 36 and the part facing the inside wall 32 of the duct 18. Thus, the portion of the fuel 24 projected by the injector 22 which, not being vaporized by contact with the exhaust gas, is in the liquid phase reaches the active surface 28 of the means 26 in order to be vaporized and therefore no longer reaches the inner wall 32 of the duct 18 which consequently no longer has as before a "wet" zone according to the state of the art. According to the invention, the vaporization means 26 are constituted by at least one flap 38 forming a movable element which, having the active surface 28 of vaporization of the reducing agent 24, is arranged inside the duct. exhaust 18. The flap 38 is movably mounted between at least a first position, said rest, illustrated in Figure 2 and a second position, said operating, illustrated in Figure 3 in which the flap 38 is inclined to the downstream from the first rest position. As can be seen in FIG. 2, the flap 38 extends in the first rest position, generally horizontally, that is to say here parallel to the flow F of the exhaust gases so as not to the flow of the exhaust gases flowing axially 2910532 II in the duct 18, from upstream to downstream, in the direction of the particulate filter 16. In the rest position of the flap 38, the device for regeneration 20 is not active and the injector 22 does not spray fuel 24 into the exhaust pipe 18. As can be seen in FIG. 3, the flap 38 is capable of occupying at least a second position , said operating, in which the flap 38 is inclined downstream, by a determined angle (a), with respect to the first horizontal position of rest so as to improve the vaporization of the fuel 24 in the mixture by creating respectively a depression locally in the vicinity of the surfa this activates vaporization and turbulence in the flow of the mixture of vaporized fuel and exhaust gas. The flap 38 is pivotally mounted about an axis A of rotation which extends transversely orthogonal to the axial flow direction of the flow F of the exhaust gas. The movement of the flap 38 from its rest position to its inclined operating position here corresponds to a rotation about the axis A being effected in the clockwise direction along the arrow represented in FIG. 1. The angle ( a) determined corresponding to the rotation of the flap 38 between said positions is defined by the acute angle formed by the intersection of the longitudinal axis XX of the duct 18 and the main axis B of the flap 38. In the first position of rest of the flap 38, the longitudinal axis XX of the duct 18 and the main axis B of the flap 38 are merged. Advantageously, the flap 38 is connected to actuating means 40, such as an actuator, which are selectively controlled so as to pivot the flap 38 between at least said rest and operating positions. The movable flap 38 comprises at least one upper face 42, called wet, having said active surface 28 for vaporizing the fuel 24 and a lower face 44, called dry. The upper 42 and lower 44 faces of the flap 38 are each heated in contact with the exhaust gases at a determined temperature T which is advantageously greater than or equal to the evaporation or vaporization temperature Te of the fuel 24. Advantageously, the gases are able to rapidly reach a high temperature higher than the evaporation temperature of the fuel so that there is no need to provide additional heating means of the flap, such as an electrical resistance or other analogous means. In fact, the flap 38 is automatically and permanently heated by conduction when, with the heat engine in operation, the hot exhaust gases circulate in the duct 18 around the flap 38. According to a preferred embodiment, the flap mobile 38 20 has, in axial section along a vertical plane, a generally aerodynamic shape of the type "aircraft wing" which is respectively constituted by a convex profile formed by the upper wet face 42 corresponding to the face called "extrados" and a concave profile formed by the dry lower face 44 corresponding to the so-called "intrados" face. Preferably, the movable flap 38 is here of small thickness in the vertical direction so that, in comparison with its other dimensions in the longitudinal and transverse directions respectively, still generally have a form of plate or panel. Preferably, the convex profile formed by the wet upper face 42 and the concave profile formed by the dry lower face 44 of the flap 38 are here symmetrical with respect to the horizontal plane PSH which, illustrated in FIG. rest by the main axis B of the flap 38 which coincides with the main axis XX of the duct 18 extending axially in the longitudinal direction of flow of the exhaust gas. As a variant, the movable flap 38 has an asymmetric profile, for example a bi-convex profile, which is in particular determined as a function of the relative position of the flap inside the duct 18 or again according to whether it is desired to promote the flow of the flap. one side or the other of the flap 38. Advantageously, the regeneration operation is carried out, during operation of the engine, after a period of time determined so that the flap 38, heated by the exhaust gas. could have reached a temperature higher than the evaporation temperature of the fuel 24. Preferably, at least a portion of the flap 38 is made of a given material or alloy selected for its thermal conductivity properties so as to optimize the external heat exchange of each of the upper 42 and lower 44 faces with the flow F of the hot exhaust gases. Advantageously, the flap 38 comprises at least one surface layer on its upper 42 and lower 44 faces which is made of such a material or an alloy selected for its thermal conductivity properties, such as for example an alloy comprising copper or copper. money. Preferably, the conductive surface layer is formed by deposition on the flap 38 or alternatively belongs to a plate respectively attached to each side of the flap 38 to form the upper faces 42 and lower 44 thermally conductive. Advantageously, the flap 38 comprises an outer envelope which is constituted by conductive layers or plates respectively forming the upper faces 42 and 2910532 14 lower, said conductive layers or plates being connected together so as to promote conduction heat exchange internally between the top 42 and lower 44 heated by the exhaust gas sides and provide rapid heat transfer in the flap 38. The thermal connection between each conductive plate is for example made through the flap 38 via of elements extending vertically to connect the upper and lower plates and so as to constitute thermal bridges between the upper faces 42 and lower 44. Alternatively, the thermal connection between the faces 42, 44 is obtained via a single conductive layer forming an outer envelope which covers the entire flap 38, e n particular the faces 42, 44.

Preferably, at least part of the flap 38 is made of a material or alloy selected for its heat capacity properties so as to optimize the vaporization of the reducing agent 24 by promoting the accumulation of a quantity of heat determined in part 38.

Preferably, the material or alloy selected for its heat capacity properties is for example constituted by zinc or a magnesium alloy. Advantageously, the portion of the flap 38 made of the material or the alloy of high heat capacity constitutes at least the main body of the flap 38. Advantageously, the flap 38 therefore comprises at least two materials or alloys, for example a first having a good thermal conductivity used for producing an outer casing of the type described above which completely or partially surrounds a main body made of a second material selected for its heat capacity properties.

Thus, since the flap is in the horizontal rest position and the regeneration device 20 is inactive, it is possible, prior to the implementation of the regeneration operation, to accumulate in the flap 38 a quantity of heat. determined s which is particularly absorbed through the faces 42, 44 forming the outer envelope of the flap 38 and which are in contact with the hot exhaust gas flowing in the conduit 18. The amount of heat thus absorbed is then advantageously diffused throughout the body of the shutter 38 10 to accumulate so that this amount of heat is likely to be restored later, in particular to limit the cooling of the flap 38 operating on the active surface 28 of vaporization in contact with the liquid fuel 24 vaporizing during a regeneration operation.

According to a preferred embodiment, the flap 38 is made with a casing and a body of the type described above and the body further comprises at least one element 46 forming a heat accumulator, which is particularly likely to increase the amount of absorbed heat and stored in the flap 38 for the vaporization of the fuel 24. Advantageously, the body of the flap 38 has an inner core 46 which is susceptible, depending on the temperature variations experienced by the flap 38, to change the physical state 25 to absorb exhaust gas an increased amount of heat or, conversely, to restore the amount of heat absorbed to compensate for the cooling of the active surface 28 during the vaporization of the fuel 24. Advantageously, the flap 38 comprises a inner core 46 forming an insert which is made of a given material chosen in particular according to its ability (or enthalpy) to absorb significant amount of heat by at least one change in physical state during an endothermic reaction, such as melting, vaporization or sublimation, caused by the exhaust gases when, as a result of the increase in the temperature of the flap 38 to their contact the core temperature reaches a temperature determined according to the material from which the endothermic reaction occurs. Conversely, the core 46 of the flap 38 is capable of returning this large amount of heat stored during an exothermic reaction in the opposite direction which is in particular likely to be triggered by the cooling of the flap 38 below the determined temperature. The cooling of the flap 38 occurs particularly in operation when under the effect of the projection of the liquid fuel 24 on the active surface 28, the vaporization of which absorbs energy or heat, locally there is a drop in temperature. Preferably, the flap 38 comprises, upstream, a leading edge 48 which is connected, downstream, to a trailing edge 50 via lateral edges 52, said marginal, all of said edges 48, 50 and 52 defining a generally ovoid profiled contour 20 adapted to limit, in horizontal rest position, the disturbances created by the flap 38 in the flow of the flow F of the exhaust gas. Thus, in conjunction with the profile "airfoil" described above, the flap 38 preferably having a low relative thickness still has generally a general shape called "almond" or a form of "drop of water" . As can be seen in FIG. 4, the leading edge 52 is substantially curvilinear, for example circular, and is formed by a semicircular arc whose diameter corresponds to that of the exhaust duct 18. Advantageously, the flap 38 is positioned in such a way that the lateral edges 52 of the flap are tangentially in contact with the internal cylindrical wall 32 of the exhaust duct 18. The transverse axis A of rotation of the flap 38 opens at each end at the point of contact between the lateral edges 52 5 of the flap 38 and the internal cylindrical wall 32 of the exhaust duct 18, delimiting respectively on either side, an upstream part of the flap 38 formed by the leading edge 48 and a downstream part formed by the trailing edge 52. The downstream portion of the flap 38 generally has a downwardly directed tip shape toward the particulate filter 16, the tapered downstream portion being defined by the joining of the trailing edges. 50a and 50b inclined leak which, from the axis A of rotation, extend rectilinearly and meet at the downstream end by a curvilinear portion.

Avantageusement, le volet 38 est positionné centralement dans le conduit circulaire d'échappement 18, sensiblement en aval des moyens d'injection 22 de l'agent réducteur 24.As a variant, the trailing edges 50a, 50b are convex or concave according to the desired aerodynamic profile of the trailing edge 52, determined in particular as a function of the drag. Advantageously, the flap 38 thus has another symmetry with respect to the vertical plane PSV passing through the main axis B of the flap 38 or again here by the longitudinal axis XX of the exhaust duct 18. Advantageously, the flap 38 is positioned centrally in the circular exhaust duct 18, substantially downstream of the injection means 22 of the reducing agent 24.

Of course, the general shape of the flap 38 is again determined as a function of the section of the exhaust duct 18 so as to allow the flap 38 to pivot freely about the axis A of rotation between the rest and operating positions. without interference with the inner wall 32 of the duct 18. In a variant, the section of the exhaust duct 18 is parallelepipedal and the flap 38 then has, in plan view, a parallelepipedal overall shape and in axial section, an airfoil profile similar to that described above. The operation of the regeneration device 20 will now be described in detail, focusing more particularly on the combination of both the aerodynamic and thermal aspects of the movable flap 38 according to the invention forming the vaporization means 26 associated with the injector 22. 2, the flow F of the exhaust gas flows around the flap 38 and heats the top 42 and lower 44 faces, the heat of the exhaust gas is absorbed then diffuses into the all of the flap 38. As the temperature of the flap 38 increases, the temperature of the flap 38 increases until the determined temperature of the change of state is reached, causing the change in state of the core 46, for example the melting temperature of the flowing core. then from the solid state to the liquid state by absorbing a determined amount of heat. Indeed, the melting temperature of the core 46 is advantageously lower than the temperature of the exhaust gas, the heating of the faces 42, 44 of the flap 38 by the exhaust gas will cause the endothermic melting reaction during which the core 46 will, by liquefying, absorb said determined amount of heat. Preferably, the regeneration operation is therefore carried out after a determined period of operation of the engine allowing the flap 38 to rise in temperature and the accumulation of a maximum amount of heat, in particular in the core 46. in order to vaporize the fuel 24. When a regeneration operation of the particle filter 16 is necessary, the actuator 40 is successively or simultaneously actuated so as to rotate the flap 38 from its position. horizontal rest to its inclined operating position, and secondly, the injector 2910532 19 22 so as to spray fuel 24 for a predetermined period. Part of the fuel 24 sprayed into the exhaust duct 18 is immediately vaporized in contact with the hot exhaust gases, the other part (non-vaporized) is sprayed into the spray cone 36, formed of fuel jets 24 liquid phase, in the direction of the active surface 28 of the upper moist face 42 to be vaporized. As can be seen in FIG. 4, the vaporization active surface 28 is a zone defined by the intersection of the spray cone 36 with the convexly shaped upper face 42 so that the active surface 28 has, for example, a shape substantially circular or elliptical illustrated in Figure 4. Advantageously, the relative positions of the flap 38 (in 1s inclined operating position) and the injector 22 are determined so that the active surface 28 is located just downstream of the vertex of the convex profile of the upper face 42 so as to vaporize the fuel 24 on the part of the upper moist face 42 locally having a significant drop in pressure. Indeed, as illustrated in FIG. 3, the position inclined downstream of the flap 38 and the convex shape of the moist upper face 42 cause an acceleration of the flow F of the exhaust gases which locally creates a depression in the vicinity 25 of the vaporization active surface 28 for promoting the vaporization of the projected fuel 24 coming into contact with said surface 28. In addition, the downwardly inclined position of the flap 38 and the general shape of the flap 38 cause, at the level of trailing edge 30 50 and downstream of the flap, turbulence (illustrated by arrows in FIG. 3) in the flow of the exhaust gases which improve the homogeneity of the mixture between the exhaust gas and the vaporized fuel 24 .

2910532 20 Les caractéristiques aérodynamiques particulières du volet mobile 38 permettent donc, conformément à l'invention, d'optimiser la régénération en améliorant la vaporisation du carburant 24.The particular aerodynamic characteristics of the mobile flap 38 therefore make it possible, in accordance with the invention, to optimize the regeneration by improving the vaporization of the fuel 24.

However, according to another important aspect of the invention, the materials used and the thermal characteristics of the movable flap 38 further contribute to improving the vaporization obtained. Indeed, the projection of the liquid fuel 24 on the active surface 28 of vaporization causes cooling, the temperature of the flap 38 is lowered to reach, depending on the case, a temperature below the determined temperature, for example melting. This change in temperature then causes the opposite exothermic reaction, namely the solidification of the core 46 which is passed from the liquid state to the solid state, so that the accumulator core 46 then restores the amount of heat stored to compensate for the cooling. In addition, in an inclined operating position, the exhaust gases continue to heat mainly the lower dry surface 44 which forms an obstacle with respect to the flow of the exhaust gas. The amount of additional heat received by the lower face 44 is diffused, through the flap 38, to the inner core 46 and to the moist upper face 42, which further contributes to limiting the effects of the cooling occurring on the surface. 28 and maintain a temperature permitting optimum vaporization of the liquid fuel 24 during the determined period of spraying the fuel by the injector 22. Advantageously, the flap 38 is still likely to be inclined downstream so as to increase the back pressure at the exhaust. Advantageously, the increase of the exhaust backpressure is likely to cause an increase in the temperature of the exhaust gas located upstream of the flap 38, which contributes to increasing the average temperature of the flap 38 and the quantity of flue gas. absorbed heat. Such an increase in the temperature of the exhaust gas is therefore favorable to the regeneration, in particular by increasing the amount of heat that can be transmitted to the flap 38 for the vaporization of the fuel 24.
