DESCRIPTION DE L'ART ANTERIEUR Comme montré dans la figure 1,DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART As shown in FIG.
Because the lid 20 securely closes the container 10, accessing the interior of the container 10 requires the complete removal of the lid 20. This causes some inconvenience since the removed lid 20 must be laid separately and can be lost. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The primary object of the present invention is to provide a groove in the bottom surface of the lid which separates the lid into two parts. A first portion of the lid is pivotable in an open position along the groove while the second portion is securely connected to the top opening of the container. On opposite sides of the first portion and the second portion along the groove, at least one pair of protrusion and notch is respectively located on the first portion and the second portion. When the first portion is pivoted into an open position, the projection is engaged with friction in the notch to automatically maintain the first rotated portion in its open position. Therefore, it is possible to access the interior of the container without removing the lid while the hermeticity of the container can still be maintained when the first part is placed in the closed position. Figure 7 is a sectional view showing the lid of Figure 2 in an open position. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Refer to Figures 2 and 3. A rectangular cover 30 according to one embodiment of the present invention is made of molded plastic and is used to close the top opening of a cubic container 40. along the lower surface surface, a groove 31 (shown in FIGS. 4 and 5) extends from one longitudinal side to the other, parallel to the shorter sides of the lid 30. The groove 31 separates the lid in a first portion 30A and a second portion 30B. The first portion 30A can be pivoted along the groove 31 to expose the interior of the container 40, as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7. The first portion and the second portion 30A and 30B have connecting walls 32A and 32A. 32B along their respective circumferences. The walls 32A and 32B have assembly members 33A and 33B located on their respective inner surfaces. When the cover 30 is placed on the top of the container 40, the connecting members 33A and 33B are attached to the corresponding connecting members 41A and 41B located on the outer surface adjacent to the upper opening of the container 40 so as to the first and second portions 30A and 30B are securely connected. A preferred embodiment of the pairs of connecting members 33A / 41A and 33B / 41B contains complementary elongate depressions and bosses, as shown in FIG. 5. In addition, for the first portion 30A, the preferred embodiment joining members 33A and 41A contain a recess and an elongate boss of appropriate length along one side of the first portion 30A and the container 40, so that the first portion 30A does not engage the container 40 too strongly, and can be pivoted to the open position easily. On the other hand, for the second portion 30B, the preferred embodiment of the joining members 33B and 41B should contain a recess and an elongated boss of appropriate length extending through a number of sides of the second portion 30B and the container 40, or a number of elongated depressions and bosses, extending through a number of sides of the second portion 30B and the container 40, so that the second portion 30B is securely connected to the container 40. Above the groove 31 and along the opposite sides of the first and second parts 30A and 30B, at least one pair of complementary projection and notch 34A and 34B are respectively arranged on the first and the second parts 30A and 30B. In the present embodiment, the protrusion 34A is on the first portion 30A; notch 34B is on the second part 30B. As such, when the first portion 30A is pivoted into the open position, the projection 34A is frictionally engaged in the notch 34B and the first portion 30A is thereby securely held in an open position. A preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, two pairs of projections and notches 34A and 34B located at each end of the groove 31. In addition, either on at least one next to the projection 34A, on at least one inner side of the notch 34B, there is preferably at least one elongated boss 35 or hemispherical boss for increasing the sealing of the projection 34A connected to the notch 34B. The boss 35 is also useful in reducing friction so that the protrusion 34A can be engaged with friction in, and out of, the notch 34B more easily. According to the present invention, the first and second portions 30A and 30B firmly close the container 40 when the lid 30 covers the container, as shown in Figures 3, 4, and 5. To access the interior of the container 40, the first portion 30A is pivoted into the open position and the projections 34A are engaged frictionally in the notches 34B so that the first portion 30A is automatically held in this open position as shown in Figures 6 and 7.
