  The object of the invention is achieved with a removable protection for a mattress having two opposite faces interconnected all along their periphery by at least one band in ticking, the removable protection comprising an upper layer in a tick, a lower layer impervious to body fluids and an intermediate layer of a hydrophilic material shaped to be able to store a body fluid, the protection being provided on its periphery with a removable fastening means intended to cooperate with a complementary integral fastening means of the mattress that it must protect.

  According to the preferred embodiment of the invention, shown in Figure 4, the fixing means 4 is fixed on the entire periphery of the lower face 2 of the protection S. It extends from a C end up at one end D and is provided with a slide (not shown so as not to encumber the drawing) shaped to be able to be engaged on the complementary fastening means 5 integral with a mattress M to be protected.
