Abstract
Description
L'invention concerne une têtière ergonomique destinée à l'harnachementAn ergonomic headrest for saddlery
The harness of a horse is generally composed of a net which is formed of the bit and several straps which maintain it by exerting relatively important pressures on the neck and the brow of the horse. Among the straps, the headrest plays an important role in preventing the rejection of the bit. This headrest is supported at the back of the ears and exerts a significant force on the occupying-atlas joint which allows the bending movements of the head in the vertical direction. As a result of the stress exerted on this articulation, the next articulation atlas axis is also hampered and subjected to a permanent stress which hinders the rotational movements. It results from the efforts supported by these joints, pain and a compression of the cervical vertebrae. The headrest is also held in place by the front formed of a belt of small width resting on the horse's forehead above the salt cellar area. This part of the head has a particularly important and sensitive area of innervation and must be protected. The problem concerning the proper positioning of a recording with respect to the headrest and consequently with respect to the vertebrae has been mentioned in French Patent No. 2655970. The recording was held in a determined position by one of the grooves provided in a casing of which the other throat was occupied by the headrest supported classically behind the ears in a position corresponding approximately to the occiput atlas joint. This invention shows an improvement with regard to the forces resulting from the use of a release but provided little improvement in the distribution of forces due to the headrest This device always requires the use of a frontal. The headrest according to the invention aims to eliminate the aforementioned drawbacks by distributing the pressure exerted by the headrest on a less sensitive and wider cervical area and to eliminate the use of a frontal.
The headrest, according to the invention, is remarkable in that it consists of a cap made of a flexible material, the rear part covering at least partially the area of the neck corresponding to the third cervical vertebra and in that the edge rear of said portion carries at its ends fastening means to the headrest amounts.
The explanations and figures given below by way of example will make it possible to understand how the invention can be realized. Figure 1 is a side view of a horse head equipped with an embodiment of the headrest according to the invention. Figure 2 is a second embodiment of the invention.
Figure 1 shows the shape and position of the headrest according to a first embodiment. This headboard consists of a cap l made of a flexible nritériiu ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ '' '' '' '' '' '' '' '' '' '' '' '' '' '' ', Dm-exrmhle a natural or synthetic leather conformed to adapt to the flood and the neck of the horse.
The front edge 2 of the cap is placed approximately at the level of the salt shaker 3, the rear portion 4 covers the sensitive area of the cervical vertebrae to the level of the third cervical close to the axis 5 (shown in dashed line) The cap has two openings 6 for the passage of the ears. These openings are wide enough not to exert pressure on the base of the ears. The cap is lined on its inner surface with a damping material such as a synthetic foam. The lower ends of the rear edge 7 of the cap are provided with fastening means 8 of the breast posts 9, sub-groove 10 and nosepieces 11. The ergonomic shape of the headboard cap allows a good stabilization of the device despite the removal of the frontal and provides a proper distribution of the forces transmitted by the amounts of headrests, under-throat and muserolles.
Passages 12 and 13 are provided on the front portion 2 and rear 4 and along the axis of the cup for the passage and the maintenance of particular winding (for example for trotters) Figure 2 shows another embodiment in which the fastening means 8 are constituted by open or flexible loops or loops, the ends of which comprise cooperating means such as buckles, self-gripping materials, etc. which allow clamping to ensure the holding and fixing of a conventional headrest 14 and possibly winding up. such as: equilong, gogue or chambon for optimal position. In order to minimize the stress on the vertebrae, it is possible to mount the conventional headrest 14 on a relatively wide leather band 15 interposed between the headrest 14 and the back of the cap 4.
