Abstract
L'invention concerne un variateur de vitesse, notamment pour engin automoteur à vitesse d'avancement variable, tel que tracteur de tonte, ce variateur comprenant au moins une transmission à courroie (9) entre deux poulies (1, 11) montées chacune sur un arbre (2, 12), chaque poulie (1, 11) comportant des flasques (4, 5) (14, 15) à écartement variable.Ce variateur de vitesse est caractérisé en ce que chaque poulie (1, 11) a un flasque (4, 14) équipé d'un dispositif de chargement tendant à exercer de manière permanente, à l'état actif de la transmission, un effort axial dans le sens d'un rapprochement des flasques (4, 5 ; 14, 15) de la poulie (1 ; 11) pour serrer la courroie (9) entre lesdits flasques (4, 5 ; 14, 15) , l'une des poulies (1, 11) présentant un dispositif de chargement exerçant un effort axial moindre que l'autre dispositif, l'une des poulies comportant en outre, indépendant du dispositif de chargement, un organe (19) de commande manuelle de rapprochement ou d'écartement des flasques apte à exercer sur le flasque un faible effort de commande correspondant sensiblement à la différence de puissance des dispositifs de chargement.
