Mobile animal restraint park
The present invention relates to a mobile animal restraint park, allowing in particular to guide animals from a pen to a livestock (and vice versa).
It is known in the prior art by the document EP 0 403 421 a mobile park of contention of animals, consisting of a lock on wheels provided, at the front, two barriers of the same dimensions, each pivoting around one of the vertical poles framing the entrance of the airlock and, at the back, a barrier on hinges. A foldable paddock on wheels is pivotally attached to the rear of the lock. The airlock allows animals to enter and exit the unfolded pen, respectively to and from a livestock trailer. The different elements of the enclosure are fixed to each other in pairs pivotally. Two removable barriers are attached to the airlock for the transfer of animals between the livestock and the enclosure.
Document US Pat. No. 4,366,775 discloses a mobile animal restraint park mounted on retractable wheels, on which a removable enclosure can be fixed using hooks. The park has, at the front, a door on hinges provided with means of blocking an animal to immobilize, for example in order to provide care, and, in the back, another door. The mobile park also includes a floor plate, which can be raised on one side to serve as a ramp to access a livestock.
A disadvantage of these mobile animal restraint systems is that they can not open gradually so as to move the animals one by one if desired by the farmer, which can be advantageous for separating calves or heifers of their mothers.
The purpose of the present invention is to overcome certain disadvantages of the prior art by proposing a mobile animal restraint system that can be opened progressively to allow the passage of a single animal at a time from a pen to a livestock trailer. .
This object is achieved by a mobile animal restraint park, intended to be positioned between an enclosure and a livestock trailer, comprising a substantially rectangular frame, supported by at least two retractable wheels, and on which is fixed a drawbar, characterized in that it comprises at least three inverted U-shaped armatures, fixed transversely to the frame and connected together in pairs by at least two sleepers, the two extreme frames, called front and rear frames, being the entry and exit passages. leaving the animals in the mobile park, and in that it comprises, at the front, a front door sliding along the front frame, so as to define a passage width of the animals.
In another feature, the front door slides in a rail fixed to the frame and is held substantially parallel to the front frame by retaining means.
In another feature, the front door is provided with an electronic system and a motor communicating wirelessly with a remote control allowing the user of the mobile park to maneuver the front door remotely.
In another feature, the mobile park comprises a rear door pivotally mounted on the rear frame.
According to another feature, the mobile park comprises two telescopic gates, each consisting of a first tubular element in which a second tubular element slides, and each pivotally mounted on one of the parallel bars of the front frame, each of the telescopic gates being fixed removably to the livestock by means of first fixing means to act as a guide between the mobile park and the livestock.
According to another particularity, the mobile park comprises two barriers, each pivotally mounted on one of the parallel bars of the rear frame, each of the barriers being fixed removably to the enclosure by means of second attachment means to act as a guide between the enclosure and the mobile park.
In another feature, the telescopic gates and the pivoting barriers are folded along the sleepers during transport of the mobile park and removably attached to the sides of the mobile park through the first and second fastening means.
According to another feature, the axis of each of the wheels is fixed at one end of a U-shaped rod hinged to the intermediate frame by means of a system comprising at least one jack and a link, so as to rotate the rod around the horizontal bar of the intermediate frame between two positions: the first position corresponding to the wheels located at least partly below the frame, so as to raise the mobile park from the ground, and the second position corresponding to the wheels located entirely above the chassis, the latter then resting directly on the ground.
According to another feature, in the first position, the rod is held parallel to the intermediate reinforcement by keys penetrating each at a time in a bore made in the rod and in a bore made in the intermediate frame.
According to another particularity, the mobile park comprises a plurality of panels, each fixed in the space delimited by two sleepers and two frames.
According to another feature, the mobile park comprises two removable reinforcing bars fixed between the front frame and the free end of the drawbar.
Another object of the invention is to propose a method for moving a herd of animals from an enclosure to a livestock trailer using the mobile animal restraint park according to the invention.
This object is achieved by the method, characterized in that it comprises at least the following steps: positioning of the mobile park near the enclosure enclosing the herd of animals, by means of a vehicle, and actuation of the jack to retract the wheels of the mobile park so that the frame of the frame rests on the ground, - fixing the pivoting barriers to the enclosure through the means for fixing said barriers, - opening the rear door of the mobile park and positioning of the latter substantially parallel to the pivoting barrier which pivots around the same vertical bar of the rear frame as the rear door, - positioning of the livestock near the front of the mobile park, in the extension of the latter, and stall removable reinforcement bars, - opening of the livestock is then opened, by pivoting the pallet of the livestock, whose free end is positioned on the drawbar, prox imitated from the front door of the mobile park, - fixing of the telescopic gates to the livestock trailer, so that they are substantially parallel to the edges of the pallet, - opening of the enclosure doors, - opening of the front door of the mobile park to provide a passage for animals to the livestock.
Other features and advantages of the present invention will appear more clearly on reading the description below, made with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: - Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the mobile animal restraint park according to the invention, - Figure 2 shows a top view of the mobile animal restraint park according to the invention, installed between an enclosure and a livestock.
The mobile park (1) for restraining animals according to the invention will now be described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. This mobile park (1) is intended to be brought between an enclosure (40) and a livestock trailer (30). to move the animals from one to the other. It is particularly useful when the user of the mobile park (1) wishes to sort the animals during their passage from the pen (40) to the livestock (30).
The mobile park (1) according to the invention comprises a frame, consisting of a substantially rectangular frame (2), on which at least three inverted U-shaped armatures (3, 4, 5) are mounted transversely to the frame, by example by being welded to it. These armatures (3, 4, 5) are arranged parallel to each other, two of the armatures, called end armatures (3, 5), being located at the ends of the frame (2) and the third, said intermediate armature (4), being located between the first two, for example one third of the length of the chassis, starting from the front. The end plates (3, 5) are the entry and exit passages of the animals in the parc. The height of the horizontal bars of the frames (3, 4, 5) relative to the frame (2) is therefore at least equal to the height of the animals for which the mobile park is intended to be used. These armatures (3, 4, 5) are interconnected by an even number of sleepers (6), each cross member of said pair of sleepers being located on one side, respectively on the other side, of the mobile park (1). . The mobile park (1) comprises for example panels (not shown) fixed in the rectangular spaces delimited by two sleepers (6) and two frames (3, 4, 5).
The mobile park (1) comprises two retractable wheels (7) whose respective axes (70) are each fixed at one end of a U-shaped rod (8) hinged to the intermediate frame (4). Said U-shaped rod (8) is fixed on a tube (9) inserted around the horizontal bar of the intermediate reinforcement (4), which tube is free to turn around said horizontal bar.A jack (10), whose ends are fixed between the horizontal bar of one of the end plates, said front frame (3), and a rod (11) articulated on a plate (12) integral with the tube (9), allows, when actuated by the user of the mobile park (1), to position the wheels (7), substantially vertically to the intermediate frame (4), as shown in solid lines in Figure 1, or substantially horizontal of the horizontal bar of the intermediate frame (4), as shown in dashed lines on this same figure. The jack (10) can be actuated between these two extreme positions by means of a control system (not shown) to which it is connected and comprising a user interface such as, for example, a push button. When the wheels (7) are vertical to the intermediate frame (4), the frame is elevated relative to the ground and the mobile park (1) can be transported by being towed by a vehicle. On the other hand, when the wheels (7) are horizontal with the horizontal bar of the intermediate frame (4), the frame rests on the ground and the mobile park (1) is temporarily immobilized. The wheels (7) are preferably held vertically to the intermediate reinforcement (4) by two keys (71), penetrating each at the same time in a bore made in the rod (8) and in a bore made in the intermediate frame (4), said keys (71) being put in place for the transport of the mobile park (1).
To facilitate traction of the mobile park (1), the latter comprises, in the front a drawbar (13) fixed to the frame (2) of the frame, for example by being welded there. Two removable reinforcing bars (14) are fixed by the user of the mobile park (1) between the horizontal bar of the front frame (3) and the free end of the drawbar (13) to reinforce the drawbar during the towing of the mobile park (1) by a vehicle.
The mobile park (1) for restraining animals according to the invention is equipped, at the front, with a door, said front door (15), which slides in a rail (16) fixed along the frame (2). ) of the chassis. This door is held substantially parallel to the front frame (3) by means (17) retaining. This front door (15) being slidable, it allows to open the front of the mobile park (1) of the desired width by the user of the mobile park. Thus, the user of the mobile park can choose an opening width allowing to pass only one animal at a time, of width at most equal to the width of the opening made, for example to enter from First, only the calves and heifers in one of the corridors of the livestock trailer. The user of the mobile park can then open the front door (15) of the mobile park more widely to bring the adult cows into the other corridor of the livestock trailer. The front door (15) can slide to one side or the other, allowing the maneuver described above. In the embodiment of Figure 1, the front door (15) is operable manually. In an alternative embodiment (not shown), the front door (15) is provided with an electronic system and a motor communicating wirelessly with a remote control allowing the user of the mobile park (1) to maneuver the door before (15) at a distance.
The mobile park (1) also has, at the rear, a door, said rear door (18) pivotally mounted on one of the vertical bars of the rear frame (5). The rear door (18) has, at its free end, at least one means (19) for attachment to the other vertical bar of the rear frame (5), so as to keep the rear door (18) closed, by example when transporting the mobile park (1).
The mobile park also comprises, at the front, two telescopic gates (20, only one being shown), each pivotally mounted on one of the vertical bars of the front frame (3). When not in use, the telescopic gates (20) are folded along the sleepers (6) of the mobile park (1). Each telescopic gate (20) consists for example of a first tubular element (200) in which a second tubular element (201) slides, parallel to the first tubular element (200), and substantially horizontally when the wheels (7) of the park mobile (1) are retracted. These telescopic gates (20) are intended to guide animals between the livestock (30) and the front of the mobile park (1). Each telescopic gate (20) has at its free end at least one means (202) for attachment to the livestock (30).
The mobile park (1) is provided at the rear with two barriers (21), each pivotally mounted on one of the vertical bars of the rear frame (5). When not in use, the pivoting barriers (21) are folded along the sleepers (6) of the mobile park (1). These pivoting barriers (21) are intended to guide animals between the enclosure (40) and the rear of the mobile park (1). Each pivoting barrier (21) has at its free end at least one means (210) for fixing to the enclosure (40).
The method of using the mobile park (1) for restraining animals according to the invention will now be described. The mobile park (1) is positioned near a pen (40) enclosing a herd of animals, by means of a vehicle. The mobile park is then detached from the vehicle and the wheels (7) of the mobile park are retracted so that the frame (2) of the frame rests on the ground, by actuation of the cylinder (10). The pivoting barriers (21) are fixed to the enclosure (40) by the means (210) for fixing said barriers, and the rear door (18) of the mobile park is open and positioned substantially parallel to the pivoting barrier (21) which rotates around the same vertical bar of the rear frame (5) as the rear door. The livestock (30) is positioned near the front of the mobile park (1), in the extension of the latter. The removable reinforcing bars (14) are removed. The livestock trailer (30) is then opened, by pivoting the pallet (31) of the livestock, whose free end is positioned on the drawbar (13), near the front door (15) of the mobile park (1). ), as shown in Figure 2. The width of the mobile park (1) is preferably substantially equal to that of conventional livestock. The telescopic gates (20) are each attached to the livestock (30), so that they are substantially parallel to the edges of the pallet (31). The doors (not shown) of the enclosure (40) are then open, the animals can thus enter the mobile park (1) .The final step of the process consists in opening the front door (15) to provide a passage for animals towards the livestock, the width of this passage being controlled.
