Abstract

The device has acquisition units (11, 13) for acquiring variables significant of vehicle speed and acceleration specified by a driver, respectively. A control unit (15) is connected to the acquisition units and has a driver interface (21) for calculating a wheel torque according to the vehicle speed and acceleration. The control unit calculates a gearing reduction ratio based on the wheel torque, to calculate an engine torque. - Independent claims are also included for the following: - (A) a method of driving a traction chain of a motor vehicle - (B) a data structure recorded on a data storage medium for driving a traction chain of a motor vehicle - (C) a motor vehicle having a traction chain.
