Abstract

A device for reducing losses connected with the start up of and/or hold-ups in an industrial production line for ice-cream and similar products. The device comprises a surround for the tubing conducting the product from the freezing unit to the portioning machine capable of conducting within it a fluid and permitting heat exchange between the tubing and the surround, a coolant fluid temperature adjustable to that of the portioning machine, a heat exchanger dumping heat outside the device, a thermal regulator controlling the temperature of the fluid and a motor for the circulation of the coolant fluid. The device comprises a control unit capable of initiating or halting the flow of coolant fluid and of communication with the freezer unit and portioning machine of the production line.
