Abstract

The procedure involves defining an instant of spark ignition for having a fixed distance of fuel injection independent of the filling of combustion chamber. The engine functions according to a combustion process guided by a jet and an instant of the spark ignition defined from the data resulting from a calculation of the end of the fuel injection. An independent claim is also included for a control apparatus for controlling the coordination of the fuel injection and spark ignition in an internal combustion engine.
