Abstract

Pour compenser la dispersion optique survenant lors de la transmission de signaux optiques dans un réseau optique bidirectionnel, des modules d'amplification (10) sont prévus qui comportent un seul module de compensation de dispersion chromatique utilisé pour effectuer la compensation voulue pour les signaux se propageant dans les deux sens de transmission. Le module de compensation de dispersion chromatique peut comprendre une bobine de fibre compensatrice de dispersion chromatique, F1, et deux circulateurs optiques indépendants de la polarisation C1, C2 qui permettent l'aiguillage approprié des signaux optiques se propageant dans les deux sens. Le module de compensation de dispersion chromatique est disposé entre les étages de pré-amplification (A1,A2) et d'amplification en puissance (B1,B2) des deux sens de transmission. Le module de compensation de dispersion chromatique compense la demi-somme des dispersions chromatique des deux tronçons de ligne (de longueurs L1 et L2) qui relient le module d'amplification 10 aux sites d'amplification voisins.
