Abstract
Description
La présente invention concerne les ancres plates destinées à équiper lesThe present invention relates to flat anchors intended to equip the
The legislation obliges all sailing or motorized pleasure craft to have one or two anchors allowing anchoring outside a marina.
There are many models classified in two large families: - "plow share" anchors (Kobra or Spade anchor) whose general shape is similar to the share of a plow. The tip is axial and continues with two more or less wide cheeks. 10 This assembly is connected to a more or less mobile rod on the horizontal and vertical plane. This rod is connected by its other end to a chain which is unwound from the bow davit of the boat. This anchor has benefited from several improvements: High weight point allowing faster and more effective sinking into sand or mud.
Wide and concave cheeks allowing greater compaction of the sand. The fact remains that the stability of the anchor is not particularly good during lateral pulls of the chain following changes in wind direction. The anchor then takes down by its shoulders 20 and tends to turn on itself.
-Flat anchors (Fob anchor for example) have two large legs whose points are oriented from front to back, they are welded at the front of the anchor to a V-shaped heel or to a wider crown also in V, the opening of which terminates the anchor on its front (anchor of the fittings 25 Bernard).
The rod is fixed between the legs, on the V of the crown by forming a joint which allows the rod to be movable on the vertical plane. This rod is more slightly articulated on the horizontal plane. This rod is connected on its other end to a chain which descends from the bow of the boat.
This type of anchor presents a major defect which concerns the burial of the two legs following the descent of the anchor on the seabed because the anchor tends to unhook in rotation during too strong traction. The object of our invention is to improve the burial of this type of anchor 35 as well following the descent of the anchor and its deposit on the bottom as following violent pulls on the chain during gusts of wind. Indeed during the deposit of the anchor on the bottom it is above all the V of the Talon or the crown which gives the 2 lateral legs a negative angle compared to the bottom. Because it is the front of the anchor on the end of the V, which will have 40 the first contact on the bottom, then it is the rod which will descend driven by the weight of the chain. The anchor then rests on its front on the V of the crown and on its rear on the end of the legs, that is to say on the tips. It should be noted that the two wings of the V offer no resistance to the sliding of the anchor on the rear when the anchor slips on the bottom.
Finally, when pulling the chain on the rod when the boat backs up to tighten the chain, the points of the 2 legs sink into the sand accentuating the negative angle of the points relative to the bottom, which is possible thanks at the joint of the legs relative to the penis. The objective of our invention is to modify the heel or the crown of the anchor to force the points of the anchor to have a negative angle relative to the bottom as soon as the anchor is placed on a sandy or muddy bottom L other objective is to force these points to sink into the bottom as soon as the chain is pulled on the rod and finally the last objective of our invention is to ensure better lateral balance of the anchor when it is buried in the sand.
The appended drawings represent in FIG. 1, a section of an anchor according to the invention resting on a flat bottom and in its FIG. 2, the crown of this anchor according to the invention.
We indeed offer a V-shaped crown (2) over the entire width of the anchor. This V could be partially hollowed out over a large part of its width so as not to hinder burial.
The two lateral ends of the 2 branches of the V of the crown (2) will be extended by claws (l) having an angle of about 1400 with respect to the wings of the V thus giving a profile in gull wing to the heel 25 or the crown (2 This angle can be more or less marked depending on the opening of the branches of the V of the crown (2).
For an anchor of 25kg we offer, as an example, claws (l) of 3cm.5 wide and 6cm long.
These claws (1) will be more or less important depending on the general dimension of the anchor. But they ensure, as soon as the anchor rests on a horizontal plane, priority support for these claws (l) on the bottom which corresponds to a negative angle of about 10, of the 2 legs (4) relative to this bottom.
Two pointed legs (4) are welded to the crown (2) on either side of an articulation with the rod (3). These 2 legs (4) of variable length will be of a width corresponding approximately to the width of the crown (2) and end in 2 points.
The rod (3) passes through the crown (2) through an opening (6) in the crown (2).
The end of the rod (3) inside the V has a perforation in which engages a pin (5) welded inside the V of the crown (2). This assembly thus ensures rotation of the rod (3) around the pin (5).
This rotation of the rod (3) relative to the two tabs (4) welded to the crown (2), is limited on the vertical plane by the height of the opening (6) on the crown (2).
This opening (6) is such that it allows the rod (3) a rotation of about 400 on either side of the horizontal plane. 10 When the anchor thus constructed is lowered to a seabed, it will be above all the claws (I) which will come into contact with the bottom. The tips of the 2 legs (4), will immediately take a negative orientation with respect to this bottom as soon as the rod (3) accompanied by the chain will descend on the bottom.
The traction of the chain on the rod (3) will create a force from front to back which will have the effect of driving very quickly and simultaneously the claws (I) at the front of the anchor and the tips of the legs (4 ). Taking into account the orientation of the 2 claws (l) in contact with the bottom, there will be a resistance to the sliding of the anchor on the bottom, resistance which will have the effect of tilting the plane of the 2 legs (4) by rotation of these legs (4) around the rod (3). The legs will quickly take a more and more negative angle thanks to the articulation of the penis (3) relative to the crown (2): this angle can reach approximately 400 compared to the horizontal plane.
This will help in the immediate burial of the anchor since the claws (1) by the friction on the bottom, will immediately accentuate the orientation in depth of the points of the legs (4). This situation will also balance the anchor on the lateral plane since the resistances will be distributed over the entire surface of the anchor and in particular 30 over the 4 retentive parts of the anchor: the points of the legs (4) and the claws (1 ). The anchor will therefore have greater resistance to rotation or overturning during pulls on the rod (3). Finally it will be advantageous on each branch of the V of the crown (2) to have several claws (l) whether or not accompanied by a border over the entire width of the crown (2) which will have the effect of increasing the resistance from anchor to skid.
* We made a prototype and carried out various tests which demonstrated the effectiveness of this design and above all the importance of certain elements:-obviously the orientation of the branches of the V of the crown (2) relative to the background changes according to the sinking of the legs (4) in the sand: Thus at the start, that is to say at the time of the anchor, the upper branch of the V of the crown (2) has an orientation greater than 900 compared to the bottom plane.
As soon as the legs (4) sink into the sand, accentuating the penetration angle from 15 to 450, the sand rises on the inclined plane of the 2 legs (4) then it is literally compacted when the anchor moves back in plunging into the sand. Following the rotation of the crown (2), the upper branch of the V then takes an angle at the bottom Less than 900 and pushes the sand onto the anchor. This mass undeniably promotes the holding of the anchor at the bottom.
The opening angle of the V of the crown (2) is of importance because a more open angle 15 favors the compaction of the sand on the anchor as described above. For a rotation of 450 of the legs (4) the opening angle of the V of the crown (2) would be more favorable around del200. Indeed, a smaller opening angle would require longer claws (1) to be aggressive on the bottom, while maintaining a negative angle of 15 to 20 of the tabs (4) on the bottom.
The relative dimensions of the crown (2) with respect to the legs (4) are of importance: thus the height of the branches is more favorable when it is 25% of that of the legs (4).
Furthermore, the length of the crown (2) carrying the claws (1) should be equal to or greater than that separating the two terminal points of the legs (4) to ensure a balanced lift quadrilateral for the anchor buried in the sand.
On the other hand, the tabs (4) will advantageously be set back relative to the end of the crown (2) to leave the opening angle of the branches of the V and the claws (1) more directly active on the bottom.
There is also an incidence between the opening angle of the V of the crown (2), the height of the opening (6) on the branches of the V of the crown (2) and the length of the penis (3 ) which continues between the branches of the crown (2) beyond its articulation with the pin (5). Indeed during the rotation of the rod (3) around the pin (5) the end of the rod (3) must be able to bear, at the end of rotation, on the internal face of the lower branch of the V of the crown (2) at the lower edge of the opening (6) and on the upper edge of the opening (6). These latter contacts can be improved by a return (7) of the crown (2). Thus the plunging of the legs (4) in the sand causes a rotation of the crown (2) and an increasingly marked support of the upper edge (7) of the opening (6) on the rod (3) which is 40 thus pressed against the bottom. Figures 3 and 4 illustrate the position and shape of the return (7) of the crown (2).
For the auxiliary anchors, the crown (2) can be limited to a simple cylindrical or rectangular bar, crossing a rod (3), and on which are fixed two legs (4) and comprising at each end of the bar and both on the other side of this bar, claws (l) oriented at 700 on either side of the horizontal to make them aggressive on the bottom. This allows the negative orientation of the legs (4) on the bottom when the said legs (4) are buried in the sand.
Another object of our invention is to allow the legs (4) of the flat anchors to orient themselves during burial to offer better resistance to the lateral pulls of the chain fixed on the rod (3) this occurring during variations of wind direction. For this we propose another mounting of the legs (4) on the crown (2) with or without claws (l), than that previously proposed: Figures 5 and 6 illustrate our point: on the legs (4) is fixed an axis (10) which crosses the V of the crown (2) by a passage (8). A cap (9) covers the axis (10) in the part of the axis (10) lying between the branches of the V of the crown 15 (2). This Hat (9) has a circular section at its base, greater than the diameter of one opening (8) of the crown (2). It also has in its upper part a finger (11) which will come into contact with the internal faces of the V of the crown (2) to limit the rotation of the axis (10) and therefore of the tab (4). The diameter of the finger (11) will be such that the tab (4) cannot have a rotation of more than 20 on either side of the horizontal. The axis (10) will advantageously be fixed between the first and the second external third of the tab (4). The openings (8) of the edge of the crown (2) will advantageously be located at the outer quarters of the crown (2).
Thus when diving the legs (4), the sand will exert pressure from back to front on the legs (4) which will cause an internal rotation of the legs (4).
This will facilitate the diving of the anchor by freeing spaces between the crown (2) and the legs (4) for a better flow of the sand. This will also provide better resistance to lateral pulls.
