  The invention relates to a cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition comprising, in a cosmetically or pharmaceutically acceptable medium, an effective amount of a cork extract, the extract or the composition being intended to treat curatively and / or preventively the cutaneous manifestations of aging (of physiological and solar origin) and improving the appearance of the skin. Cork oak is a very widespread tree in the Mediterranean basin (Portugal, France) from which the cork is removed in order to make corks. The cork is a vegetable tissue produced by the suberophellodermic base of the cork oak. It is made up of dead cells with an alveolar structure. These cells are filled with gases of a composition close to that of air. The cork consists mainly of suberine (45%), lignin (27%), cellulose (12%), as well as various products such as cerodes, tannins,

minerals and water.

  The cork industry is mainly focused around the cork for wines and alcohols,

  but looking for other development paths for the cork.

  The cosmetics sector is always looking for new active ingredients, the

  The main object of the invention is therefore a cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition comprising, in a cosmetically or pharmacologically acceptable medium, a

  quantity of an extract of cork.

  Another subject of the invention is a cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition comprising, in a cosmetically or pharmacologically acceptable medium, an effective amount of a cork extract, the extract or the composition being intended to be treated

  In the compositions of the invention, the cork extract comes from cork oak.

  In the compositions of the invention, the extract is obtained by extraction from water, of glycols (propylene glycol, butylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, methyl or ethyl ethers of diglycols, ethoxylated or propoxylated diglycols), of alcohols (methanol,

  ethanol, propanol, butanol), or any mixture of these solvents.

  In addition, extraction can be replaced by maceration, decoction,

  leaching, extraction under reflux, ultrasound, microwave, supercritical fluid.

  Those skilled in the art, knowing the business of extracting and purifying plants, can easily envisage other methods of obtaining the extract described by the applicant. In the compositions of the invention, the extract is previously dissolved in one or more cosmetically or pharmaceutically acceptable solvents such as water, petroleum jelly, vegetable oil, propylene glycol, butylene glycol, dipropylene

  glycol, ethoxy or propoxy diglycols, ethanol, propanol or isopropanol.

  On the other hand, the extract is previously solubilized in a cosmetic or pharmaceutical carrier such as liposomes or adsorbed on powdery organic polymers, mineral supports such as talcs and bentonites, and more generally solubilized in, or attached to, any cosmetically carrier or pharrnaccutically

acceptable.

  In the compositions of the invention, the extract is present in a content of 0.0001 to 10% by weight, preferably 0.001 to%, and even better from 0.05 to 3% by weight, relative to

the total weight of the composition.

  Preferably, the compositions according to the present invention will be presented in a galenical form suitable for administration by topical skin injection, and cover all cosmetic or dermatological forms. These compositions must therefore contain a cosmetically acceptable medium, that is to say compatible with the skin, the polls or the hair.
