Abstract

The jewel (1) includes a support (3) in which is mounted at least one stone (2). The support includes a cylindrical body (9) with lugs (11,12) on opposing sides, with one lug (12) mounted on an elastically deformable arm (13).   The present invention relates to a jewel comprising a support in which is mounted at least one stone having a cylinder head, at least two notches hollowed in the periphery of the cylinder head, a border and a part

upper cut.

  It has been known for a long time to make a piece of jewelry by fixing a stone on

  a support by means of claws which wind set on the cut part of the stone.

  Nevertheless, for aesthetic reasons, the jewelers subsequently sought new ways to ensure an effective mounting of the stone on

  lO its support by refraining from using visible claws.

  In this regard, patent FR 802 367 describes a process for invisible fixing of stones on a support in which, on the one hand, the stones each have a pyramidal yoke provided with notches on its periphery, and on the other hand, the support is achieved by means of two parallel strips joined by a bottom plate. Wind grooves cut in the bands and the fixing of check stone on the support is carried out using keys which wind slid in a way, so that each presents a first part inserted in a groove and a second part inserted in a notch. This method, in addition to the fact that it does not allow the mounting of a solitary stone and that it is relatively complicated to implement, has mainly the main drawback of using keys which wind lack elasticity and which do not therefore do not compensate for mechanical play and avoid lateral movements of

stones in the support.

  The present invention aims to solve the problem mentioned above and relates to this effect a jewel comprising a support in which is mounted at least one stone having a cylinder head, at least two hollow notches in the periphery of the cylinder head, a border and a cut upper part, characterized in that: i) the support comprises lugs each engaged in a notch of a stone, ii) at least one of these lugs projecting from a fixing paste formed in the support and capable of be moved away radially by

  elastic deformation during the introduction of the stone.

  Thus, thanks to the fact that at least one of the pins is secured to a fixing paste which is provided with a certain radial elasticity, the stone can be integrated into the support after separation of this fixing paste. In addition, once the lugs wind wedges in the notches of the stone, this behind remains immobile in its support even following involuntary mechanical stresses such as shocks for example. A piece of jewelry according to the invention may, at the choice of the josillier, contain only a single stone or a plurality of stones. In addition, it should be noted that the support used can have an external shape which is also left to the free choice of the joeillier. This behind can therefore be, for example, substantially conical, cylindrical, rectangular, pyramidal and even be partially perforated. Furthermore, the material chosen to make the support can be made of metal or plastic for example. Obviously, a piece of jewelry according to the invention can include any kind of stone,

  tails whatever its diameter and shape.

  According to one embodiment of the invention, the jewel comprises: i) at least two stones, ii) at least one stud formed in the support and interposed between two successive stones, iii) each stud comprising at least one first fixing paste provided with a lug engaged in a notch in one of the stones and a second fixing paste provided with a lug engaged in a notch in the other stone, the fixing steps being spaced from one another and can be moved apart radially by

  elastic deformation during the introduction of stones.

  Thus, in the case where the jeweler wishes for example to mount four aligned stones in the support, it is then necessary to arrange at least three studs in the support, each of these studs being positioned between two successive stones. Advantageously, the jewel comprises at least one end stone and the support presents an internal wall comprising at least one lug engaged in an entai l e of check stacks of extremity. 1 1 should be noted that, on the one hand, in the case where the jewel contains only one stone, this is assimilated to the end stone, and on the other hand, in the case where the jewel includes several stones, the end stones dolvent to be understood as being those

  located opposite the internal wall of the support.

  The method of manufacturing a piece of jewelry according to the invention, whether it comprises one or more stones, therefore has the advantage of being inexpensive and extremely quick to implement, since the fixing of each stone in the support is carried out by clip and does not require any other additional part.

  Referring to Figure 1, it is observed that a jewel 1 is formed using a stone 2 secured to a metal support 3. More precisely, the stone 2 com carries, on the one hand, a substantially conical cylinder head 4, and on the other hand, a cut upper part 7. The cylinder head 4 has two notches 5, 6 hollowed out with the aid of 'a laser. These notches 5, 6 are, on the one hand, substantially horizontal and diametrically opposite, and on the other hand, located near a border 8 acting as a transition between said cylinder head 4 and the upper cut portion 7. More particularly, the support 3 has a substantially cylindrical body 9 comprising an internal wall 10 provided, in the vicinity of its upper end, with two pins 11, 12 substantially horizontal and diametrically opposite. These latter wind designed so that, before the stone 2 is engaged in the support 3, the distance measured between the two pins 11, 12 is slightly less than that measured between the two notches 5, 6 of the stone 2. In addition, the outside diameter of the body 9 is provided so as to be almost equal to the diameter of the stone 2 at its edge 8. Referring more particularly to FIG. 2, it can be seen that the pin 12 protrudes from a fixing paste 13 produced by longitudinal cutting in the thickness of the body 9, this fixing paste 13 having

  an ability to deform elastically as a result of radial stress.

  The stone 2 is then made integral with the support 3 by insertion, after separation of the fixing paste 13 towards the outside, of check lug 11, 12 in its corresponding notch 5, 6. Furthermore, the outside diameter of the body 9 being almost equal to the diameter of the stone 2 at its edge 8, the pins 11, 12 are therefore invisible when looking at the jewel of

  above or side as they are hidden by the stone 2.

  In Figure 3 is shown a jewel 20 comprising a support 21 in which is mounted a row of stones 2, these rear being all strictly identical to stone 2 shown in Figure 1 and 2. For simplicity, only two stones 2 have was represented on the hive 3. This support 21 has a substantially rectangular metallic body 22 comprising, on the one hand, an internal wall 24, and on the other hand, a bottom 25 carrying a plurality of

studs 26.

Furthermore, the studs 26 can be arranged in the bottom 25 of the support 21 so that the stones 2 are arranged in several rows parallel to each other. It should however be clearly understood that it is possible to create any kind of pattern using the stones 2 by suitably providing for the positioning of the

  different studs 26 in said bottom 25.

  Although the invention has been described in connection with particular examples of embodiment, it is obvious that it is in no way limited thereto and that it includes all the technical equivalents of the means described as well as their

  combinations if these are within the scope of the invention.

Claims (6)

claims   1.- Jewel (1, 20) comprising a support (3, 21) in which is mounted at least one stone (2) having a yoke (4), at least two notches (5, 6) hollowed out in the periphery of the cylinder head, an edge (8) and a cut upper part (7), characterized in that: i) the support comprises lugs (11, 12, 27, 28, 32, 33) each engaged in a notch of a stone , ii) at least one of these pins (12, 32, 33) projecting from a fixing paste (13, 30, 31) formed in the support and which can be spread apart radially by elastic deformation during ['introduction of stone.   2.- jewel (20) according to claim 1, caracterisb in that it comprises: i) at least two stones (2), ii) at least one stud (26) formed in the support (21) and interposed between two successive stones, iii) each stud comprising at least a first fixing paste (30) provided with a lug (32) engaged in a notch (5) of one of the stones and a second fixing paste (31) provided with '' a lug (33) engaged in a notch (6) of the other stone, the fixing pastes being spaced from one another and being able to be spread apart radially by elastic deformation during ['introduction of stones.   3.- Jewel (1, 20) according to any one of claims 1 or 2, characterized   in that it comprises at least one end stone (2), and in that the support (3, 21) has an internal wall (10, 24) comprising at least one   lug (11, 27, 28) engages in a notch (5, 6) of each end stone.   4.- Jewel (1, 20) according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterizes   in that the notches (5, 6) are made in the vicinity of the edge (8) of each stone (2).   S 5.- Jewel (1, 20) according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized   in that each stone check (2) has two opposing and located notches (5, 6) in the same plane.   6.- Jewel (20) according to claim 2, characterized in that check stone (2)   is pressed against at least one other stone at its edge (8).   7.- Jewel (20) according to any one of claims 2 or 6, characterized in   what the stones (2) are aligned.
