Description

* * * Fluid product distributor with pivoting ball

The invention relates to a dispenser for fluid products with a pivoting ball of the type comprising a ball support arranged to be mounted on the neck of a bottle or reservoir containing the fluid, said support.

ball having substantially the shape of a socket.

Distributors of this type are used (see for example US-A-3,212,120) used for cosmetics in which the fluid is brought under pressure against the surface of the ball projecting into the reservoir by means of a piston. Such a system is complicated and expensive and, moreover, practically unusable for glass bottles and / or bottles or reservoirs of low capacity. Indeed, the miniaturization of pressurized fluid supply systems on the surface of a ball leads to prices of

  returns incompatible with the market.

The present invention therefore aims to provide a ball dispenser which does not have the disadvantages

known distributors.

s The dispenser according to the invention is in particular very economical, while retaining excellent efficiency and tightness, and it can be adapted to bottles, made of glass or plastic, of small capacity. The dispenser according to the invention is particularly suitable for a

operating in the form of a sample distributor.

To this end, the invention relates to a dispenser of fluid products with a pivoting ball of the type comprising a ball support arranged to be mounted on the neck of a bottle or reservoir containing the fluid, said ball support having substantially the form of a socket, characterized in that the support comprises a ball receiving compartment which is defined between a membrane of elastically deformable material extending transversely in the support and provided with at least one orifice for passage of the fluid and the edge of the support opposite to the bottle or reservoir, the ball being housed in said compartment so as to be partially projecting from said support towards the outside, the ball being held by force by the membrane of elastically deformable material against the edge of the support opposite to the bottle or reservoir so as to produce a sealed support of the ball against said edge in the rest state of the dispenser, the membrane of elastic material t deformable being deformable to allow the displacement of the ball towards the interior of the compartment so as to break the seal during use at said dispenser. Thus, advantageously, the compartment defined in the support makes it possible to obtain a very good seal due to the axial force exerted on the ball by the elastically deformable membrane which keeps said ball in sealed support against the edge of the support. When using the dispenser, the force exerted on the ball by application to the skin of a user, for example, breaks the tight support of said ball against the support and releases this ball in pivoting while the

membrane deforms towards the inside of the container or bottle.

When the force exerted on the ball is released, the ball is pushed back by the membrane which returns to its original position in the support and comes to rest against the support. In the dispenser according to the invention, it is possible to provide a cap which completes the seal between the ball support

and the bottle or reservoir.

Advantageously, the ball support in the form of a sleeve comprises on its outer wall a radially projecting collar located substantially in the middle of the sleeve and which, 2s when placed on the neck of a bottle or reservoir, comes into abutment on said neck, part of the sleeve under the collar being engaged in the bottle or reservoir while the other part extends above the neck of the bottle

or tank.

Preferably, the compartment is housed in the part of the

support extending above the neck of the bottle or reservoir.

The invention will be clearly understood on reading the description

following of an exemplary embodiment, with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: FIG. 1 is a schematic view in axial section of an end portion of a dispenser according to the invention; Figure 2 shows a top view of a support

ball for a dispenser according to figure 1.

The dispenser represented and described by way of example comprises a bottle which is either made of glass or of plastic. A ball support 1 has substantially the shape of a socket provided on its outer wall with a flange 2 in radial projection located

substantially in the middle of the socket 1.

When placing a bottle or reservoir on the neck, the flange 2 abuts on said neck, a part of the sleeve 1 under the flange 2 being forcibly engaged in the bottle while the other part lb extends above

from the neck of the bottle.

The support 1 comprises a receiving compartment 3 of a

ball 4.

This compartment 3 is defined between a membrane 5 of elastically deformable material extending transversely in the support 1 and the peripheral edge 6 of the support 1 opposite the

bottle, that is to say the edge of the part 1b of the support 1.

The ball 4 is housed in said compartment 3 so as to be partially in sail linked to said support 1 towards the outside, the ball 4 being held by force by the membrane 5 of elastically deformable material against the edge 6 of the support 1 opposite the bottle so as to produce a sealed support for the ball 4 against said edge 6 in the state of

S rest of the distributor.

The part 1b of the sleeve 1 extends from the flange 2 towards the interior of the support 1 and the peripheral edge 6 of said part 1b forms a sealing lip bearing on the

ball 4.

The membrane 5 is provided with orifices 7 for the passage of the fluid.

This membrane 5 is deformable and allows the displacement of the ball 4 towards the interior of the compartment 3 so as to break the seal during use at said dispenser. A cap, also called a capsule, is mounted on the collar

from the bottle.

For use, the cap is removed, and the ball 4 which is in leaktight support against the peripheral edge 6 of the support 1, prevents the liquid from flowing out. To spread the liquid, the ball 4 is pressed, turned towards the teas, on the surface which must receive the liquid and the dispenser is moved while keeping the ball in abutment on said surface. The ball 4 is then pushed back against the membrane 5 which deforms and the ball 4 is no longer in support

waterproof against the edge 6.

The liquid enters the compartment is loaded on the ball

4 and this liquid is deposited on the rolling line.

When the ball 4 is no longer pressed, the membrane 5 pushes it towards the peripheral edge 6 of the support 1 in

waterproof support.

The product to be dispensed can be liquid or semi-viscous.

IT can be, for example, a perfume, a cosmetic, an adhesive, an ink, etc. The bottle or reservoir pent say miniature for dispensing

samples.
