Abstract

Device comprises the following items: an impulse meter, a programmable logic module, an electric valve and an alarm. The invention is based on the fact that within a long enough time duration there will be a period in which consumption is zero. An impulse meter is used to monitor the flow and if no period is detected within a predetermined time when there is zero flow, an electric valve is activated and or an alarm triggered. An impulse meter or counter generates one impulse per a given unit of liquid consumed, e.g. one liter.
