Abstract

The packaging case for a container body (2) containing a product delivered through a distribution valve (3) equipping the container head (6) comprises a perimetric casing intended to receive the container. The casing is constituted by successive panels whose transverse ends are closed by folding flaps (25,27). Two non-adjacent panels are provided with extensions comprising successive folding lines which are folded and connected to the inside of the case. There is a transverse end closing wall (41) and two support and stop shoulders (40) for the container body. Between the shoulder is a chamber (42) able to receive the valve.

 The present invention relates to the technical field of overconditioning containers, the body of which contains a product that can be delivered via a dispensing valve fitted to the head of the container.

 It should be considered that the technical field covers containers of the aerosol type, that is to say containing a product deliverable by means of a carrier gas under pressure, or else of the type containing a product under pressure generally stored in liquid phase and whose equilibrium confinement conditions maintain a gaseous fraction under pressure in the container sky.

 The invention relates to the packaging of containers of the above type, the product of which is dispensed by a valve associated with an atomization nozzle.

 It should be considered that the invention also covers the packaging of containers containing a liquid product, the distribution of which is ensured by means of a push button associated with the dispensing valve, while the product contained is not necessarily confined under pressure. Such containers can be described as vaporizers or the like.

 The prior art has known the storage and distribution, or even the presentation, of such containers presented naked, in the sense that they were devoid of protective over-conditioning.

 With the aim of perfecting the modes of packaging, presentation, or even storage, the prior art has recommended overconditioning such containers, in particular by means of cases obtained by folding a blank pre-prepared from a sheet of suitable material, such as compact or corrugated cardboard, or a plastic material such as sheet or plate polypropylene.

 In general, and to ensure adequate safety for the manipulators but also to avoid any risk of loss of the packaged product in the event of untimely action on the dispensing valve, such containers are usually provided with a protective cap adaptable on the container head so as to cover and protect the dispensing valve without surface contact.

 Such a precaution, the justification of which is easily understood for the reasons mentioned above at least, comes up against an incompatibility of implementation when it is recommended to protect the container by means of an overconditioning case.

 Indeed, the presence of such a plug implies taking into account a certain number of technical characteristics for the constitution of the blank whose structural and dimensional characteristics must take into account the existence of such a plug.

 In total, it turns out that the presence of the protective cap represents a handicap in economically ensuring overconditioning of the container in a case, with the usual requirements which are attached to such a technique and which are, for the most part, at least the loading on an automatic machine, the high speed loading, the economical production of pre-prepared blanks and the automatic assembly of cases from such blanks.

 This is the reason why it has been proposed to ensure the packaging of such containers by means of cases by providing to insert such containers in the latter when they are devoid of a protective cap.

 Attempts that have been made in this direction have shown that such a proposal was not satisfactory, because the lack of protection of the dispensing valve led, during the phases of handling, packaging, storage, transport , presentation, or even marketing, at the risk of applying pressure constraints on the valve through the case, with the consequence of an unintended unintended distribution of the packaged product.

 Such a risk is not conceivable in the interest of consumers and users, but also because of the risks that the accidental release of the packaged product poses.

 There is therefore a need to be able to respond positively to a request for over-conditioning a container containing a deliverable product via an unprotected distribution valve.

 It is one of the objects of the present invention to respond to such a need, by proposing a packaging case whose design precisely makes it possible to ensure the over-conditioning of such a container, while guaranteeing the risks of unexpected action exerted on the dispensing valve.

 To achieve the above results, the packaging case according to the invention, the body of which contains a product which can be delivered via a

 dispensing valve fitted to the head of the container, the case comprising a perimeter envelope intended to receive the container, constituted by successive panels and the transverse ends of which can be closed by folding shutters and flaps extending at least some of the panels, is characterized in that at least two non-adjacent of said panels are provided with extensions extending in the same direction from one of the open transverse ends of the envelope, comprising successive fold lines marked perpendicular to the length of the extensions which are each folded and linked inside the case, from said transverse end so as to define together: - a closing wall of said transverse end, - at a distance from said wall and inside the envelope, two support and abutment shoulders of the container body, - and between the two a chamber suitable for receiving, without surface contact, the valve fitted to the head of the container.

 The invention also relates to a blank pre-prepared for the formation by folding of a case as recalled above.

 Various other characteristics will emerge from the description given below with reference to the appended drawings which show, by way of nonlimiting examples, embodiments and implementation of the subject of the invention.

 Fig. 1 is a schematic view of a container, the body of which contains a product which can be delivered via a dispensing valve.

 Fig. 2 is a plan view of a blank pre-prepared for constituting a container packaging case according to FIG. 1.

 Fig. 3 is a partial perspective, partly broken away, showing a phase of preparation and formation of the over-conditioning case.

 Fig. 7 is a partial elevation section, similar to FIG. 6, but illustrating an alternative embodiment of the over-conditioning case according to the invention.

 The object of the invention is to ensure the over-conditioning of a container such as 1 illustrated in FIG. 1 and which has the characteristic of containing, in a body 2, a product which can be delivered via a dispensing valve 3 comprising an atomizing nozzle 4.

 Within the meaning of the invention, it must be considered that the container 1 can be of the aerosol type, that is to say containing a product which can be dispensed by means of a propellant under pressure or, alternatively, a container containing a product stored in the liquid phase and whose temperature and pressure equilibrium conditions maintain, in the reservoir head, a gaseous phase under pressure distributable via the valve 3.

 Similarly, the invention must also be considered as applicable to the container 1 containing a product which is delivered via the valve 3 designed to be of the push-button type, so as to introduce by successive pressures, inside the body 2, pressurized air capable of ensuring by the nozzle 4 the propulsion of the product contained.

 As a general rule, such containers are formed by a cylindrical body 2, the bottom 5 and the head 6 of which are inscribed in the same cylindrical envelope, being generally attached by crimping.

 In all cases, the valve 3 has a height H less than that of the body 2 and a cross section S less than that of said body 2.

 To ensure the over-conditioning of a container of the type according to Figure 1, the proposal according to the invention involves a blank 10 as shown in Figure 2 in a developed plan form.

 Such a blank can be made of different suitable materials such as corrugated cardboard, compact cardboard or a plastic material such as polypropylene.

 The blank 10 essentially comprises fold lines 11, 12, 13 and 14 which delimit four parallel panels 15, 16, 17 and 18, of generally rectangular shape, one extreme of which, such as 18, is bordered by a strip of link 19 of

 narrower width. The panels can be of the same width or of different width, and, in such a case, in particular when the panels are four in number, it is generally expected to give the same width to the alternating panels without such an arrangement being prohibitive. sense of invention.

 Similarly, it could be considered that the blank 10 has more than four fold lines so as, for example, to delimit a greater number of successive panels.

 The blank 10 is also delimited by transverse ends 20 and 21 which, generally, are constituted by clean edges, for example for the panel such as 18, and by fold lines, with regard to the panels 15, 16 and 17, which are bordered beyond these fold lines designated as a whole by the references 22 and 23, by flaps 24 and 25 for the panels 15 and 17, and by flaps 26 and 27 for the panel 16. The flaps 26 and 27 are advantageously bordered by tabs 28 and 29.

 The flaps 24-25 and the flaps 26-27 are intended to be folded to close the transverse ends of a perimeter envelope of tubular shape which is formed by folding in the same direction of the flaps 15, 16, 17 and 18, which are linked in this position by fixing the strip 19 on the internal face of the opposite end panel, such as 15.

 The above considerations are given solely to recall the technique of forming a packaging case from a pre-prepared blank, it being understood that the characteristics attached to it must be considered to be known and largely mastered by the skilled in the art.

 A blank, of the type described above and illustrated by FIG. 2, is characterized in the sense of the invention by the existence, as regards at least two non-adjacent panels such as 15 and 17, of two extensions 301 and 302 which extend in the same direction from the corresponding transverse end, in this case that materialized by the corresponding parts of fold lines 22. In the example illustrated, the extensions 301 and 302 thus distance the flap 27 and the tongue 29. The extensions 301 and 302 are designated and referenced in this way because of the constructive characteristics which can be considered within the meaning of the invention as common defining them.

In what follows, only one of the extensions 30 will be described in support of the following numerical references, it being understood that the same constituent parts of the second extension will be designated by the same references assigned with the index 2.

The extension 301 has, transversely to its length, four fold lines 311 to 341 which are marked parallel to each other so as to delimit the following technical elements.

The line 311 delimits with the corresponding part of the fold line 22, the flap 251 while this same line delimits, with the following line 321, a louver 351. The fold line 321 delimits, with the fold line 331 a part median spacer 361, while this last line delimits, with line 341, a return range 371. Examination of FIG. 2 shows that the marking of line 341 at a distance from the end of the extension 301 delimits a extreme paw 381.

 According to a particular characteristic, the fold lines are marked to be qualified as bending in one direction for those bearing the references 221, 311 and 331 and to be qualified as counter-bending in the opposite direction for those bearing the references 321 and 341.

 According to another constructive characteristic, the fold lines are marked to give the return area 371 a width equal to the difference in width between the closing flap 251 and the counter-flap 351. The folding lines are also marked to confer at the closing flap 251 a width which is substantially equal to or less than the half-width of the panel 16 included between the panels 15 and 17 carrying the extensions 301, 302. According to another characteristic, the fold lines are also marked so as to give the middle spacer 361 a length which is greater than the height H of the valve 3 of the container 1 of which it is obvious that the cylindrical body 2 must be able to fit inside the perimeter envelope formed by the folding different panels. For this reason, the width of the latter as well as their length are determined in correspondence with the dimensional characteristics of the body 2.

 To constitute an overconditioning case in accordance with the invention from the blank described and shown in relation to FIG. 2, the procedure is, as an indication, as follows as it is partially illustrated by FIG. 3.

 The fold lines 11 to 14 are marked in the same direction, so as to bring the strip 19 near and / or in relation to the internal face of the panel 15 on which said strip can be fixed by any suitable means such as stapling or collage.

 FIG. 3 shows such a preparatory phase so as to better illustrate the characteristics specific to the invention.

 In such a state, the closing of the transverse end opposite to the extensions 30 can take place in the traditional way by folding the flaps 24 and the flap 26, such an operation being able to be carried out before or after packaging the container 1.

 In this state, the two extensions 30 extend substantially face to face in the same direction and in the plane of the panels 15 and 17, and each is subject to a marking of the fold lines which it has, as this is illustrated in Figure 4.

 The fold lines 252 and 3h for the extension 302, only taken into account in what follows for this training phase, are marked in a direction of folding said inwards due to the effect that this folding product to fold towards the inside of the case or perimeter envelope formed the corresponding extension 302 as illustrated by the arrow f. The fold line 332 is formed in the same direction, while on the contrary, the fold lines 322 and 342 are counter-marked in the opposite direction, as will emerge from the examination of FIG. 4.

 Similar folding on the extensions 301 and 302 leads to the formation of the transverse end as illustrated in FIG. 5 in which at least the tabs 381 and 382 of the extensions 301 and 302 are fixed by any appropriate means, in particular by gluing , on the internal face of the panels 17 and 15 to which they correspond.

 The fixing is established in such a way that the closing flaps extend face to face in a plane perpendicular to the general axis of the perimeter envelope, as illustrated in FIG. 5, in order, in a way, to close this transverse end. In the example according to FIG. 6, the fixing of the legs 381 also

 so that the successive folding of the lines brings the counter flaps 351 and 352 in a state parallel to the closing flaps and against the latter on which they can also optionally and advantageously be fixed by in particular gluing or stapling.

 In this conformation situation, the extensions 301 and 302 delimit inside the perimeter envelope two shoulders 40 which are located at a distance from the closure or transverse wall 41 which is defined by the closing flaps 251 and 252. These extensions also delimit, by the presence of the middle spacer parts 361 and 362, a chamber 42 which is capable of receiving without surface contact the valve 3 in an abutment and blocking position of the body 2 by means of the shoulders 40.

 Figure 6 shows that after filling the perimeter envelope with the container 1 and closing the transverse end of the case opposite to the valve 3, the body 2 is placed in the position of axial stop and support in a state in which the valve 3 is located at a distance from the closure wall 41, possibly lined with the corresponding flap 27, and from the side walls that constitute the panels 15 and 17.

 In this way, after complete closure of the over-conditioning case, the valve 3 is guaranteed against any risk of unexpected pressure which would have the consequence of causing the involuntary distribution of the product confined in the container body 1.

 As a general rule, the loading of a case according to the invention takes place after conformation of the extensions 301 and 302 and closing of the flap 27 and of the tongue 29 from the opposite transverse end which is still open, although a reverse execution process could also be envisaged if necessary.

 Figure 7 shows that it is also possible to secure the end tabs 381 and 382 so that the counter flaps 351 and 352 extend, not in parallel and against the closing flaps 251 and 252, but obliquely and away from them.

 The invention is not limited to the examples described and shown since various modifications can be made without departing from its scope.

Claims (15)
