Abstract

The instrument consists of a handle and a cutting tip with two inclined cutting surfaces, designed to make an incision in the sclera of the eye to receive an infusion cannula in the form of a tube (10) with a flange (16) and a hollow needle (12). The needle and flange are connected by a cylinder (15) that is shorter than the cutting instrument tip, so that during use it fits in the sclera incision with the hollow needle on the inside of the sclera and the flange on the outside.
