Description

<Desc/Clms Page number 1> <Desc / Clms Page number 1>

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing plates of synthetic material for floor covering.

Thin sheets of synthetic material have been used for several years to cover previously leveled flat floors. These plates generally have a square or rectangular shape and are drawn from thin strips of synthetic material.

Currently, there are no known sheets of synthetic material that can be used for the distribution of floors coated with old ceramic coverings, such as old brick-colored tiles and hexagonal in shape. The shape of these tiles, their thickness, and their wear and patina require replacing the damaged tiles with other tiles of the same type and preferably of the same age and from the same origin, which poses problems which are difficult to solve.

The object of the invention is to propose a method for producing covering plates which can meet these needs in particular. It is obvious that the plates obtained by the process according to the invention can also be used to completely cover a bare, previously leveled floor.

The method according to the invention is characterized by the fact that a polyurethane resin having a hardness of between 70 and 85 shore A is poured into a molding tank, this resin consisting of two basic components, namely polyol and isocyanate in the proportion by weight of 100 parts of polyol per 25 parts of isocyanate, and of six additives expressed below in a proportion by weight relative to the total weight of the two basic components: - 30 to 50% d '' a silica filler ensuring the anti-wear structure, - 15 to 25% of pyrogenic brick ensuring pigmentation, - 5 to 10% of plasticizing agent, - 1 to 3% of anti-ultraviolet agent, - 1 to 3% antioxidant, and - 0.2 to 0.5% of an accelerating catalyst.

Advantageously, the six additives are premixed in the polyol, and the isocyanate and the polyol enriched with the additives are mixed during casting.

<Desc/Clms Page number 2> <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

Preferably the thickness of the casting plate is approximately 5mm.

This thickness associated with the presence of silica ensures sufficient rigidity to the plate produced by the process, which allows the tiler to work as if it were a unitary element of ceramic flooring.

In order to obtain the desired surface patina, a spray of nuanced polyurethane gel coat is sprayed onto the bottom of the molding tank before casting.

To promote hardening of the plate, post-baking is carried out after casting at a temperature between 60 and 80 C.

To avoid applying a release agent, silicone elastomer molding tanks are used.

Preferably, the molding trays are obtained from an imprint of a tiled floor.

Very advantageously the imprint covers a plurality of unitary elements juxtaposed on the tiled floor. These unitary elements are for example tomettes.

La figure 1 montre un carrelage traditionnel en tomettes anciennes sur lequel on prélève une empreinte, à partir de laquelle sont réalisés des bacs de moulage ;
La figure 2 est une vue de dessus d'un bac de moulage ;
La figure 3 est une coupe selon la ligne III III de la figure 2 du bac de moulage ;
Other advantages and characteristics of the invention will emerge on reading the following description given by way of example and with reference to the appended drawings in which:
Figure 1 shows a traditional tiling in old tiles on which we take an imprint, from which are made molding trays;
Figure 2 is a top view of a molding pan;
Figure 3 is a section along line III III of Figure 2 of the molding pan;
FIG. 4 shows the principle of an installation for implementing the invention; and
Figure 5 shows in perspective a floor covering plate produced by the method according to the invention.

Figure 1 shows a traditional old tile 1 in tiles, each tile has a regular hexagonal shape and the distance between two opposite angles is for example 24 cm.

On this tiling 1 take a very precise imprint 2 of six juxtaposed tomettes distributed in two rows of three tomettes

The outline of this imprint is shown by the broken closed line referenced 3.

From this imprint, a molding tool is used which is used to manufacture the molding trays 4 for the plates according to the invention.

Figures 2 and 3 show the molding tray 4 made of silicone elastomer, the bottom of which has an imprint identical to the imprint 1 produced and complementary to that of the plates to be produced. We see in particular the ribs 5 which correspond to the joints of the tiles used to take the initial imprint.

FIG. 4 shows the installation 10 used to implement the invention. This installation comprises a frame 11 supporting a tank 12 containing the polyol enriched with the six additives and a tank 13 containing isocyanate. Agitators are used to permanently homogenize the products contained in tanks 12 and 13.

Pumps bring the polyol enriched with the six additives and the isocyanate to a casting head 14 via separate conduits 15 and 16. The casting head 14 is arranged above a molding pan 4 and is equipped with an operating handle 17 which makes it possible to run and mix a dose of polyol enriched with the six additives and a dose of isocyanate in a molding tank 4.

The installation naturally includes means for adjusting the doses in the proportions defined in the introduction.

Typically, with the molding tray 4 which corresponds to six 24 cm diameter tiles at two opposite angles, the total weight of the two doses is approximately 1.5 kg and the thickness of the mixture poured into the bottom of the molding tray is 0.5 cm.

To accelerate the hardening of the plate produced, the molding tanks are introduced, after casting, in a baking chamber, where they are subjected to a temperature between 60 and 80 C for a period of between 5 and 10 minutes.

It then suffices to unmold the plates, deburr them, condition them and store them.

We wait 3 to 5 minutes before pouring a new plate, to allow the gel coat to set.

It goes without saying that the imprint 2 can be made on any type of traditional tiling without departing from the scope of the invention.

FIG. 5 shows a plate 20 produced according to the method described above. These plates 20 have contours such that they fit into each other during installation. These plates 20 are fixed on a flat, clean and dry floor with an acrylic adhesive.

They have an overall dimension of 42 x 73 cm, which gives them a certain flexibility allowing a pose on a slightly deformed ground.

The plates 20 obtained by the method have a high resistance to trampling, various stains, and good resistance to cigarette burns. They can be used to cover the floors of passageways, entry halls, kitchens, etc. They can also be used in bathrooms because of their tightness.
